Common Questions and Answers about Milk allergy weight gain

milk

Avatar f tn At 1 years old, children can start to be weaned off infant formula to cow milk. To help him gain weight, suggest feeding him extra meat at meals. As a guideline for a 6-8 month old child should eat the following: Breast-milk or Formula (6-8oz) 3-5 feedings a day; Starch 2 feedings a day – Infant Cereal (2-4 Tbsp); and Fruits or Vegetables 1-2 feedings a day (3-4 Tbsp). Hoped this helped you.
Avatar f tn Could be allergy or intolerance to milk, that's what it was for my son. Test for food allergy AND milk protein peptides showing up in the urine, indicating enzyme deficiency in breaking down milk protein. Is he irritable or occasionally spike fevers for no reason? My sons weight was in the 10th percentile and I went to the doctor from the time he was 10 months old for that and his emotional coping problems. I thought they must somehow be related, but was told no.
Avatar n tn Your son is only a few lbs. under weight for his age (just under the 10th percentile weight for age) and his height is normal for his age. You can make him milkshakes with Soy milk (has no milk products in it) and frozen fruit which has extra calories and protein. Soy products are a good substitute. Thank you for your question.
Avatar m tn soy milk (for protein), soy yogurt, soy butter, soy based protein bars, soy based cereal, etc. Well, she had been off of soy for a few weeks, and she got down to 93 pounds. Well, just recently started taking her vitamins that her doctor suggested due to abnornal blood work. Last week is when she lost the weight, and this past week, she has gained 6 pounds. Low and behold, the CoQ10 has soy in it! She also has very coarse hair and acne on her forehead which she never had before.
20801560 tn?1512718136 Oh, I do know that food allergies can cause weight gain in certain people, especially if it is wheat. Allergies are hard to detect at times and can be hard to control.
Avatar n tn My doctor has not had me change his diet at all and says that his diet is fine but he still says that his lack of weight gain is concerning. Are there any weight gain tips that you know of or any high calorie foods I can add to his diet that dont contain wheat or milk?
Avatar m tn Doctor, is it possible he is allergy milk? We didn't notice any allergy symptoms except ear infection on and off. His weight chart indicates his weight started to drop just after switch from breast milk to formula.

889551 tn?1416184483 Lexi is 7w old now and on Friday we took her to the ER for an allergic reaction to the soy formula. She had a rash and started projectile vomiting. She had been constipated since we switched her formula and then her stools turned almost black, although no blood was present. Anyways, at her last appt at 4w she weighed 8lbs 2.5oz. On friday she weighed 8lbs 8oz. I know the scales can be off it really concerns me that in 3w she's only gained 5.5oz.
Avatar f tn I drink about 7-8 gallons of milk a month and its vitamin d and I still can't gain the weight back I eat everything in sight so I don't see how I'm not gaining
Avatar n tn He is 1 year old and is allergic to soy, dairy, wheat, oatmeal and several other foods that did not test positive with an allergy test. He is under weight because of this. He is also seeing a speech therapist because he isn't progessing at the rate he should be with speech (this could be completely unrelated). I refuse to believe that my nephew is allergic to everything that he barely has enough nutrious choices. Any information, suggestions, specialists would be greatly appreciated.

Avatar f tn I went to the doctor and the doctor said that I need to gain 20 pounds. I have been trying to gain weight for about a month now and I can't seem to gain a pound. What is the best way to gain weight?
Avatar m tn This involves drinking 6.6pts of milk per day for a period of 1 month, to get fast weight gain that I should be able to maintain by returning to my normal eating habits. I am prepared to accept any short term implications, such as acne, or sickness if I get weight gain results that I am looking for. This is a serious self-confidence affecting issue and it makes me feel uncomfortable and depressed. I need a solution, and my doctor has no answers for me.
Avatar f tn When I got pregnant my weight gain was right where it was supposed to be. At around 16 or 18 weeks I started gaining weight quite fast. I went from 5lbs to 10lbs like over night. I am now 22 weeks pregnant and I have gained 25lbs!!! Has anyone else had this? I am not eating excessively and I still throw up at least once a day it not more. This is just freaking me out. Especially since I had lost a lot of weight before. I went from 299-175.
Avatar f tn As you said your weight is 42-45kgs and you want to gain some weight. Then, you are suggested to follow few things; Have a apple slice with peanut butter, bread with mayonnaise but make sure all these things will not effect your baby's health. Eat oats, Drink milk and other high-calorie beverages, drink plenty of water. Take Low-Fat Dairy Products (yogurt, cheese and milk products).
Avatar f tn Eating healthy and exercising allows me to t feel at peace about how much weight I gain since I am doing what I can.
Avatar m tn One other thing I forgot to mention is you may have a food allergy, which would also explain why your relatives have this, too. A common one that causes diarrhea are milk and milk products, so switching to soy milk or rice milk can help, they're in most grocery stores in a small carton in a special section of the store. Or there are tablets you can take with meals that will counteract milk allergy.
Avatar f tn Someone here t trying to gain weight? I've been trying for awhile. Would be Nice to have exchange ideas.
961466 tn?1247550382 Please take her to the hospital or dr and have them do an ultrasound to check for pyloric stenosis if they rule that out it could be a milk protein allergy in which you would have to eliminate all milk from your diet if breastfeeding or you need to switch formula. But please have your dr rule out pyloric stenosis asap. If she is not keeping anything down you should consider taking her to the hospital, infants dehydrate VERY quickly.
