Avatar n tn In a nut shell it sounds like hay fever. You may just need to take allergy medicine daily, but I'm not a doctor so you might want to talk to your doctor for more insight and what is the best treatment.
Avatar f tn I live in Texas where fall and spring have very high allergy counts. I am suffering over here because it seems as though all allergy medication is class c or lower. Class a and class b medications aren't helping me at all. I'm too congested for a neti pot, nothing ever comes out the other end, regardless of how often I blow my nose. Anyone have any advice??
Avatar n tn Since I originally made this thread, I have been successfully immune to hay fever and animal dander, due to immunology (allergy) shots. I went ahead and got them. The shots really aren't as much of a pain to get as I thought they would be. For only 2.5 months I had to go once or twice a week. Once I got to my maintenance dose, I now go every 4-6 weeks. Up until then, I didn't have the time to get the shots. However, I really regret not having gotten them earlier in life.
345124 tn?1234483278 So far its working but need to go for allergy shots because these allergies have just progressed over 20+ years from just hay fever to hay fever and allergic rhinitis to hay fever and allergic rhinitis plus now dizziness. This has got to stop!
Avatar f tn The pain and pressure comes from infected mucous membranes. Allergy can cause a drip in the back of the throat and build mucous you cough up.

Avatar n tn I know that you are not having any rhinitis and sneezing which are the typical features of hay fever, but in my post,I have mentioned the definition of hay fever as “It is defined as an allergic reaction to anything you breathe in the air. This could be seasonal pollen released from weeds, grasses, and trees. It could also be an allergic reaction to dust mites, animal dander, mold, or household chemicals.”.
Avatar m tn But 1 or 1,5 months before that I used antibiotics for my flu treatment. Apart from that I have a hay fever (allergy to olive pollens) and getting weekly vaccine treatments for 7 months. Are these two things might have an impact over my test result ? should I repeat testing ?
Avatar f tn Almost 3 weeks ago I thought I had a bad cold that lasted about 5 days, then it turned into a pesty mucus cough so I bought simple linctus which didnt help. After a further 5 days I went to the doctor because I thought I might have had an infection but I got the all clear and doctor told me to just eat chicken soup... I don't like soup. 10 days on and I'm still coughing mucus and my nose is still a little runny.
Avatar f tn Check that out with an ENT. Also check out a deviated nasal septum. Hay fever and allergic rhinitis should be ruled out. Persistence of RSV should also be looked into. Normally the food allergens cause only gastric symptoms. However if the allergen is absorbed and reaches the airways it can cause hay fever and asthma like symptoms. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar n tn Hello, Your symptoms are suggestive of allergic rhinitis or hay fever. Allergic rhinitis is a collection of symptoms, predominantly in the nose and eyes, caused by airborne particles of dust, dander, or plant pollens in people who are allergic to these substances. When a person with allergies breathes in an allergen such as pollen or dust, antibodies are produced. When the antibodies are stimulated by pollen and dust, histamine and other chemicals are released.
Avatar n tn Hello, As you are having allergies to dust mites,so asbestos fibers when suspended in the air and inhaled can cause such symptoms that you are having. This is because you are already having allergies to dust mites which makes you predisposed to hay fever. Hay fever, like all allergic reactions, is caused by allergens, foreign "invaders" that enter your body by inhalation, by swallowing, or through your skin.
