1651434 tn?1301657278 Do you suffer any permanent damage anywhere from the stroke, was it a mild stroke? You may also want to peruse the Maternity Forums here, I am most positive there is one for 35+.
Avatar f tn what happens with significant MVR some blood fails to pumped into circulation with each stroke. To maintain adequate blood flow with a decrease in stroke volume is to increase the heart rate. The math for cardiac output is stroke volume times heart rate for one minute. Frankly, I don't believe you have significant MVR because you should also have the symptoms of shortness of breath with exertion and muscle fatigue.

Avatar n tn t worry so much about it being a stroke, but you also can not rule that out. Even young people can sometimes get under so much stress that they can have a stroke. On the other hand this could be the same thing my cousin has had before. My cousin drank a lot of soda's and he started to develope a pain in his right arm, so they tookd him to the doctor and did all kinds of test. Come to find out he has had to much, sodium in his diet, from drinking the soda's.
Avatar f tn Can too much alcohol consumption cause a stroke? Both of my parents have suffered mild strokes (in both cases effecting one eye) They both drink straight vodka daily. Probably a 16 oz glass filed with ice then vodka poured in.
Avatar n tn I recently had a mild stroke in the left hemisphere of my brain. About two weeks later I started having a problem with my left arm and hand falling asleep. At first this was just an annoyance however, the tingling sensation has been happening more often and with more intensity. Could this problem be caused by the stroke? Will it eventually go away? Can I do anything to help eliminate this problem? Could someone explain why this is happening?
Avatar f tn An enlarged LA puts you at higher risk for stroke as not all the blood gets out with each beat and the pooled blood may form a clot that causes a stroke, but this risk is easily modified with aspirin or blood thinners if severe. Again, nothing serious here, just relax and wait for your appointment. Make the cardiologist go over your report item by item and give you the answers to you questions, he owes you that. Good luck!

Avatar f tn Can you please tell me what my MRI means? Findings show there are mild scattered foci of increased T2/Flair signal within the subcortical white matter. Impressions show mild scattered subcortical gliosis is likely secondary to chronic small vessel ischemic changes. No recent infarct, abnormal parenchymal enhancement, intracranial mass lesion, or mass effect. I had the MRI done because I was experiencing headaches.
Avatar f tn If there was evidence of an acute stroke on the MRI, investigation for causes of stroke in a young person (of which there are many many causes including blood clots from various areas of the body including heart and legs, various clotting tendencies including the clotting tendency that occurs in all women around pregnancy but also other hereditary or non-hereditary clotting disorders, and some genetic disorders such as CADASIL and mitochondrial disorders).
Avatar f tn That time her bllod sugar was 224.That time they gave her insuline as well. Is it stroke or any ather condition? Before that she was fine walks around no problem climbing staircase. Is any body know what is this?
Avatar f tn This causes temporary stroke symptoms (often just for a few minutes), such as weakness or tingling in an arm or leg. Mini-stroke causes are the same as those associated with ischemic strokes. The only difference involves timing. By definition, a stroke produces symptoms that last for at least 24 hours. A mini-stroke causes symptoms that improve after a shorter period of time (usually within 30 minutes).
1527234 tn?1291771442 In this phase due to F/S phenomonon the ventricular myocardium is no longer able to contract adequately to compensate for the volume overload of mitral regurgitation (volume overload can be do to other causes), and the stroke volume of the left ventricle will decrease. The decreased stroke volume causes a decreased forward cardiac output and an increase in the end-systolic volume dilates left ventricle.
Avatar f tn Please tell me you found out what causes this? If not, have you gotten well? I am going through a terrible time with this with no help from the doctor, but mine has advanced from what you have posted.
Avatar f tn I had a mild stroke two months ago and was recovering nicely, very few deficits. Two months later I am getting lightheaded and dizzy all day. This is two days now. What's up?
Avatar f tn I had what they call a stroke - it was caused by burst aneurisms in my brain. It took 9 surgeries and finally a shunt in my head. That was September. What I want to know is, is it 'normal' to feel pressure and sometimes a 'giddy' feeling? Apparently my brain will take at least a year to 'heal'. I am doing really well, but my head feels this way, and my neck where the shunt tube goes swells..
Avatar m tn I was 2 1/2 years past my firt stroke and working out 5 days a week. My second stroke was a total suprise to me & my doctor. By God's Grace I'm doing good. My question is does intense exercise put you at more risk?
Avatar f tn I am so scared. Please what does this mean?
Avatar f tn This one is the most common one for people ages 30-60 which is also considered young for a stroke. And what generally causes it is trauma from a car accident, chiropractic treatment, sneezing, coughing, or just spontaneously for no reason. That's the kind of stroke that I had, totally out of the blue with no risk factors. But given the many young people who answered that posting, strokes do just happen to very young people with no reason. So sorry that it happened to you.
