Avatar n tn if she had transient symptoms, she may have had a TIA or transient ischemic attack. this is a warning sign of stroke and needs to be treated as such. she should see a neurologist or a primary doctor as soon as possible and look for the cause. she may need a brain CT or MRI, a heart echo, blood work and dopplers. She should do it as soon as possible.

Avatar n tn you should go to a neurologist or a primary doctor to have this evaluated. you may have been dehydrated (and your blood pressure was too low for you). why have you lost so much weight? are you exercising too much or on a special restrictive diet? do you get enough sleep? there is a good chance that this was a mild faint spell rather than a mini-stroke but you won't know until you have a full evaluation.

Avatar f tn Hi Toria , It may not be a mild stroke since a stroke can be diagnosed by an MRI and a stroke has associated nervous system symptoms like vertigo , slurred speech , double vision and others .There are various other causes of muscle weakness on one side of the body . They are muscle stimulation disorders , peripheral nerve disorders , nerve impingement in the spine . Did you go for an MRI spine with contrast ?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed 18 months ago with mild ocular myasthenia gravis. I had ptosis (primarily left eye) and occasional double vision when I was tired. I took mestanon and in general felt pretty normal until last January. It started with parathesia of my left arm which was quite intense but I could generally make it stop by raising my arm and shaking it, elevating my arm, or twisting it. I went to my regular doc since I thought I might be having a stroke.

Avatar f tn what happens with significant MVR some blood fails to pumped into circulation with each stroke. To maintain adequate blood flow with a decrease in stroke volume is to increase the heart rate. The math for cardiac output is stroke volume times heart rate for one minute. Frankly, I don't believe you have significant MVR because you should also have the symptoms of shortness of breath with exertion and muscle fatigue.
Avatar m tn Had a few palpitaitons at the top, and a some very mild arrhythmias since. I missed a few doses of rhythmol this week. too much caffiene and alcohol too maybe and not enough water, must have been enough to set me off. Good now though, and I feel good after the hike.
Avatar n tn However, when she woke up on Monday and had no use of it, and her leg started feeling very heavy she went to the hospital. They said she had a mild stroke. She had no other symptoms and the recovery was amazing. They were all amazed. By Monday night she could lift her arm over her head, although it still felt very heavy and her fingers wouldn't do exactly what she wanted them to do. Her leg was completely better. It felt as though nothing had ever happened.

Avatar f tn You say that she has suffered from a mild stroke? I am not sure what the location of the stroke is, but strokes in the brain in certain locations like the thalamus or the internal capsule can cause numbness in that distribution. If there is weakness as well, then other locations are possible. Sometimes, a person does not recover 100% sensation after a stroke, so this numbness might just be residual (if it was the stroke in the first place which caused the numbness).
Avatar n tn I do not have high blood pressure, diabetes or high cholesterol, no strokes or TIAs, and CADASIL (unlikely, no relatives with it). What else causes these brain lesions. Neurologist says I have too many lesions to be age related. They are multiple small foci of bright FLAIR signal in the subcortical white matter of both hemispheres in a relatively symmetric distribution. Thank you.
