mild eczema around mouth

I realise that my eczema gets worse when i get my allergies, it starts with the skin around my mouth getting gradually itchy, sometimes with vesicle fomation on my lips, and the next day my eczema gets worse and my mouth would look darker than usual. Am on mild daily anti-histamines as prescribed by a dermatologist and am using a hydrocortisone cream for the eczema around my lips. I would like to know about the connection between my skin allergies and the eczema.

For a really long time now Ive had marks around my mouth. Ive been treated by previous dermatologist for eczema on my face around my eyes back of my ears and even on my body but they could never help with the marks around my mouth. A previous dermatologist gave me bleaching creame and pretty much told me that because my top lip is bigger than my botton lip I may have saliva coming out the sides of my mouth even though it doesnt feel like it causing a reaction.

I second that! lol Try something milder for awhile and see how it goes. Eczema is also another thing that crosses my mind, or just extreme dry skin. I can't shower too often in the winter or my whole body gets like that. Extremely dry ( winter skin ) gets worse when water is applied...and because the toothpaste is getting around the outside of your mouth, that's a great possibility.

For a while, I ignored the bumps thinking it was a mild case of eczema and the problem would resolve itself with time and extra moisture. However, the bumps have spread farther along my chin and have gotten more pronounced (more flaking and redness). I have had trouble with herpes simplex in the past on different corners of my mouth, but this is different than anything I've seen so far. It's getting to be very annoying and I'd like to find a way to resolve the problem. Thanks!

The doctor recommended a zinc supplement and pure sunflower, safflower or vegetable oil around his mouth. Only just started but there is already some improvement. Also recommended avoiding cortizone (gladly!!) and products with parabens. Hope this helps anyone else who's child is suffering from this awful redness around the mouth!

t seem to help much, my skin looks leathery and wrinkly especially under the eyes and around my mouth. The pharmacist advised me to use bufexamac but I am afraid of using cortisone on my own and in my face! What can I do? My skin is itchy,red and VERY dry.

One doctor told me that it MIGHT be perioral because then it seemed mild, though he never prescribed me antibiotics just gave me one cream that didn't really help.

Hello, From the symptoms it can be dermatitis skin, contact dermatitis or nummular eczema. Nummular eczema also presents as itchy, red, dry circular lesions. Apply calamine lotion and mild steroid cream and take some oral antihistaminic like Benadryl. If the symptoms persist then please get it seen from a dermatologist. I hope it helps. It is symetrical all the way round my mouth about 2 inches out both sides form my mouth, all around my chin, up to the bottom of my nose. Doctors said he doesnt know, and never got back to me. I very rarely eat carrots, have stopped eating ketchup, i drink 5 pints of water a day now, to flush my system out. I have A-Z vitamins (started a month ago) and nothing is working. I cant use fake tan, as it builds up on my yellow skin and makes it even more darker, foundation does the same.

use a moisturizer every night and morning. You probably have mild eczema. Blistex works good. I get chapped lips in the winter, but my wife has to use it all year long.
