338489 tn?1215558109 Much is made of medicines which are questionable at best. I have been impressed with the Swank Diet, the MS-Direct website (especially for all the Canadians) and the research on high doses of Vitamin D. It seems that Canada, the U.K. and Germany are far more open to the vitamin and dietary controls of MS. While the diet requires great discipline, it sure beats some of the other options. I would like to see your opinions on these comments and what any of you have done with diet.
Avatar n tn My wife is 30 y.o., never been pregnant before. Recently her obgyn found a mass on her right ovary < 5 cm in size during ultrasound. She also had the CA 125 result of 106. She is completely assymptomatic, with no family history of ovarian/breast cancer. I have read a lot about CA 125 not being a good screening test. At this point her doctor recomments repeating CA 125 + ultrasound in a couple of weeks. He suspects endometriosis.
Avatar f tn Would consult with an endocrinologist, but for these incidental micro-cancers - as described - radioactive iodine is not usually needed and followup ultrasound (and perhaps thyroglobulin levels) should be considered.
Avatar m tn My computer was running real slow until a few weeks ago. I tried em all, Norton ( I hate it ), malawarebytes, Avast, which worked good for a few days and then froze up my computer. McAfee was the worst. I uninstalled all of it. I put in the Mozilla Firefox ( downloaded for free ) and bought Trend Micro anti virus & spyware ( $ 40 ). It really clean up my computer and found 78 Trojan horses. My computer has never ran so fast. Lickity split now !
Avatar f tn i have optimum online and Windows vista. it let me put one picture on yesterday and since then it says it is submitting but then just kicks me off line!
Avatar f tn I'm deciding between an Uppa baby vista and bugaboo cameleon. Any recommendations or preferences??
974371 tn?1424653129 More to help other readers than to provide an answer: you have typo "rumors" twice, which I concluded was intended to be "tumors". I have frequent colonoscopies due to a high production of polyps - this began at about the age of 60. In fact I had at least three colonoscopies in one year to remove upper polyps (or one large polyp) and the doctor needed to take care not to break through the colon wall (best I can remember as to why he didn't do it on one surgery).
Avatar f tn vista print! that's where my mother ordered mine from. theyre cheap!
Avatar n tn As Jan has already said, there is no way to dx you without having a surgical biopsy. Also, your ca-125 is not really that high. My Ca-125 was 6,000 when dx. Please provide some more info so we can better direct you.
Avatar m tn I had 2 opearting systems on my computer...its called a dual boot setup....XP pro and VISTA premium i love vista now...BTW windaws 7 is just vista improved..i say stick with vistamif you buy a new puter...if you have a slower model...
Avatar n tn Fortunately I have a very sane Dr. who thinks we need to wait a bit to see, same as I was thinking. I will go back on Dec. 1st. for another scan. I have been on the 'Budwig' diet, have you heard of that? It is the cottage cheese flax seed diet, (and other things such as no meats, only veg. etc.
Avatar n tn Hi. Why was the CA 19-9 done in the first place? CA 19-9 has no value in screening for diseases like pancreatic cancer because of its low sensitivity and specificity (there are a lot of both false positive and false negative results). I would like to direct you to a discussion thread in this forum which I think already answers most of your questions: http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/422994. You do not need to repeat the test if you do not have any symptoms.
Avatar f tn t have Health Insurance? and don't make enough money to have a personal Dr. look at it? Can you help me out with any suggestions please? Thank You for your time and Professional opinion.
408448 tn?1286883821 Hi Marie, sure am glad you got a new puter. Do you have Vista? I hated it when I first started using it and it did have a lot of bugs but they have come up with a bunch of new service packs to update with. Don't forget to have your computer set for automatic updates for everything. It changes stuff every 5 minutes it seems. Good luck learning it. There is a tutorial that gives you the highlights of the differences. Have fun!!!!
Avatar m tn My Mom diagnosed with Ovarian CA last three years and ongoing with Chemotherapy. Recently she had a small bowel obstruction surgery... Because of this now she has obstruction in the abdominal and had few thoracentesis and one paracentesis took out 1000cc,etc. She is not on chemotherapy for more than 3 months and I think because of this so that the mass of the tumur is enlarging causes obstruction. She is on TPN and NPO for more than 2 months and still now in the hospital.
228686 tn?1211554707 At this point, I would take XP pro, ANYDAY. And wait for Vista to get fixed. Personally, I do NOT think Vista will make it, and will end up just like Millennium Edition. It will fade away in a dusty desert sunset. Meanwhile Service Pack 1 for Vista, brought my computer crashing down, and I had to do a system restore, that also woundn't work, until going into safe mode, and carressing it into submission.
475300 tn?1312423126 t let me go to a lower operating system such as windows 98 which is what my PC is. I can go from 98 UP to vista but not from Vista to 98.

Avatar f tn Just replying to yr qustion on follow up appt my mum had. Her CA ha gone up from 358 to 500 and scans show cells in lymph . According to her onco he wants to give my mum another 4 weeks before another scan and blood test and not wanting to start her chemo till then. Basically giving her more time off chemo as he feels her performance status is still good. Is it dangerous not starting chemo if CA continues rising or is it best to let the patient carry on if symptom free and enjoy QOL.
