Avatar f tn I have had bleeding gums and gum disease for years. Im 28yrs old now. Each time i go to the dentist they tell me about best ways to clean and floss. I try my best but still never seems to go away. I have brought a very good new oral b electric toothbrush to ensure I clean to the best of my ability. I also floss. I have tried natural mouthwashes and toothpastes containing herbs like myrrh etc which are known to help keep gums healthy.
Avatar m tn A deep dental cleanse on a good periodontal dentist or a simple course of an antibiotic called METRONIDAZOLE for 5 days will improve you gum bleading and smell for a long time. Metronidazole gel is also available for topical use on the gums. It wont take you more than a week to do these two things, time that i think your girlfriend will be nice enough to wait before she gets you between her legs.
Avatar n tn I was given metronidazole to treat Bacterial Vaginosis for twice a day for 5 days, it worked within the 2-3 day the odor cleared up, no itching nothing, however after i finished what i was prescribed to take, i started to have dryness and was itching again , i have phoned the GUM and im not happy with the responce I had as they gave no help or information , but told me to wait until my other results come back for sti's, I dont understand because the treatment has worked but now that ive fini
Avatar n tn Can only rule out trich with a test. It can be difficult to test in men. But are you still having all those symptoms?
Avatar f tn i was given doxycycline and more metronidazole and finished these about three weeks ago. the tests results for stds and candida all came back negative, but the sympoms are still present. i am going back to the gum the next time i can get away from work, but no one has been able to tell me what kind of infection this is or what kind of treatment will work. i would think it was only bv but the doctor said that it was an infection of some kind.
Avatar f tn Took my mother to the dentist finally since she had refused to go for several years and since shes been having problems with loose tooth and was a problem that needed to be addressed prior to spinal surgery. Dentist diagnosed her with severe gum disease that was causing bone loss and said most of the tooth has to be extracted eventually or they'll fall out. Cause may be cause of smoking (which she quit) or braces that she had at a late age.
Avatar n tn I also have suffered with chrones disease for the last 23years and was wondering if this could be a factor to gum disease. My teeth are in good condition and I only have 3 fillings. I am 39 years of age. Please could you advise.
Avatar f tn It depends on what your dentist told you or what he prescribed. You might want to try Orajel - which is commonly used for toothaches, but I use it for gum problems as well. If your gums hurt because of wisdom teeth or molars there is not much you can do, besides wait it out. Try to only eat liquid foods such as soup or broth.
Avatar m tn s including herpes, hiv, chylamdia, syphlis, I was advised to have acyclovir and subsequently the ulcers went away(they were fading anyway by this time), so not sure if it was the acyclovir, Also after this visit I was over zealous with hygiene and washed my penis with soap, and I noticed it becoming red and itchy subsequently, A week after this I visited the Gum clinic again and all my previous tests came back negative, by this time my penis tip was turning red and slightly painful on touch
7649778 tn?1401294601 Is it possible to have a higher chance of gum disease from pregnancy? My doctor never said anything, and I always brush and floss, but it's like overnight or super recently my gums got in really bad shape and I just noticed. Could pregnancy be the reason why?
Avatar f tn Oh I forgot to mention that my bf was put on docy too for the chlamydia that he thought I had even tho he didnt test me for it. Sooo now after this last time that it came back I am having real bad problems with cramping and I'm frustrated that this horrible disease keeps coming back. So my question is, has anyone had their PID recurr over and over again or can this be maybe trich and since my bf wasnt treated with the right meds for it he keeps giving it to me?
Avatar m tn Hi!just looking for some advice! I recently had vaginal swabs taken which tested positive for Bacterial Vaginitis and Chlamydia!!! I took the relevant antibiotics (Zithromax 1g and a course of metronidalzole for a week). I finished these three and a half weeks ago. I should prob point out that my diagnosis was quite a surprise as I wasn't experiencing any symptoms. However, about a week ago I started to experience 'symptoms'!
Avatar n tn Anyway, I will see an orthodontist soon, and I am wondering what options I have. IS 30% + bone loss too substantial for orthodontics? Can bone and gum grafts repair the regression. Thanks.
Avatar m tn Not tested for trich but week course of metronidazole for me and wife wouldve wiped it out. may have to move on but urology means camera down penis, tests, waiting and im convinced i got this from my sex contact on timing.
Avatar n tn My dog was throwing up (looked like human food- I hve no idea where he got it from) and having diarrhea. The vet gave him amforol among penicillin and steroid injection. We took x-rays and the vet said he had imflammatory bowel disease. Since then he's stopped vomitting but still having diarrhea. Now he's on metronidazole. I've read around that metro will help only temporary and that it could cause liver damage. Has anyone had this problem and will metronidazole fix his problem?
Avatar n tn I also had taken some 5 year old single dose Amoxycillin I had at homebefore going to the GUM. Swab test diagnosed NGU, blood test came back negative for Syphilis, Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. While the redness has subsided, there is still some discomfort (slight itching) no burning during urination, and slight milky discharge in the morning. Should I give the meds more time to do their work or should I go back in? Clinic receptionist (not a nurse) said wait 10 days total.
Avatar m tn I went for my regular dental check up in Toronto (Family Tree Dental) and I was shocked to hear from my dentist that I have Gingivitis ( gum disease), but I never experienced any pain or bleeding How can this be detected at earlier stage?
Avatar f tn (been taking sleeping pills for last 38 yrs, also anti psychotics) on 21st, i took metronidazole 400 X 3 times, little less pain. today, i had 6 motions and i took metro'ole 400 x 2 times, i don't feel like taking anymore of it. i had lot of yogurt. 2 hrs after taking by psy medication i feel ravenous and eat a lot of food (Sugars)every night. i am prediabetic nearing diabetic condition& my tsh is 22. i also have, acidity & fissure for long time. pls help!
Avatar f tn Many tests and procedures later and her vet diagnosed her with inflammatory bowel disease and put her on Metronidazole and prescribed cat foods with duck, rabbit and deer. Well, both of my cats reaction to the new food was to try to bury it. The Metronidazole made Pixel sick and she stopped eating and her weight fell to under six pounds and the vet then put her on steroids. During this time I bought brand after brand of cat food, hoping to get her to eat anything.
Avatar n tn i should note that i have been living with my partner for almost two years now. so i visited GUM dec 2nd 2008. i was given azithromycin (4 tables). i was so worried i sent my girlfriend for a test also. All her tests came back negative. She was called by GUM also and given Azithromycin too( heard its standard practice).
Avatar m tn I went to my primary who suggested I go to my dentist to have him check it out, Saw him last Wednesday and he can find no gum disease, sores, loose fillings etc to cause this. I haven't called my neuro yet because sometimes I feel like a hypochondriac when it comes to ms but if I can't find some reason soon I'm going because this is unbearable and I can't imagine living the rest of my life like this.
Avatar m tn You can be tested for it at a gum clinic and it can be treated with a course of metronidazole. The person you think you have caught it from should also be tested and treated even if they dont have symtoms, otherwise if you had sex with them again, they could easily pass it back.
Avatar m tn I was positive for chlamydia but negative for gonorrhoea. I was treated the same day I took the test for chlamydia (1g Azithromycin) and 2 days later I was treated with Suprax/Cefixime for potential gonorrhoea. My long term partner received the same treatment on a precautionary basis. My symptoms cleared after a weak and its now 4.5 weeks after treatment. I re-tested myself last week for both Chlam/Gonorr with a home test which came back negative for both.
Avatar m tn I had a coronectomy on my bottom left wisdom tooth 9 days ago. Surgeon said it was far too risky to remove the entire tooth. I'm 37 and the risk outweighed the benefits. He put me on Penicillin, and I've taken all of it as prescribed. However, I still am having pain and throbbing in the gum where the small hole is.
Avatar n tn A few months ago I had unprotected vaginal\anal sex with a woman. Within a few days I had a lot of discomfort in my urethra and minor, clear discharge with no odour. I'm in the UK so went to the local GUM clinic, I've been tested for everything under the sun and all tests are negative. One swab test did show some pus cells so I was treated with Ofloxacin for 2 weeks which made no difference to my symptoms.
Avatar f tn I visited the doctor Monday with a vaginal infection and was given Metronidazole to start taking. I went back for results Wednesday and I was confirmed to have BV. My doctor then gave me Erythromycin to take (2, twice a day)... as well as the Metronidazole (3, three times a day). This seems like an awful lot of antibiotics. Why was I given Erythromycin, when from as far as I can tell, Metronidazole alone is the recommended treatment for BV? Hope someone can shed some light on this. Thanks!
