Avatar m tn He is on Denamarin ¼ tablet for small to mediun dogs, 1 Prednisone tablet 5mg in the morning, ½ 250mg Metronidazole pill in the morning, and ¼ Prilosec in the morning! At night he only gets ¼ Prilosec! He has been holding his own for about a year now. Yesterday he started the head tilt and really stiff walking. He pants and drinks lots of water. He was diagnosed with high liver enzymes. He does also have some mouth/teeth problems but can’t go under the anesthesia to get a dental!
Avatar n tn Hi there I have a rather long explanation to go through for this question so please bear with me. I am a 27 year old male from the UK and have suffered from Gerneralised anxiety disorder (GAD) since the age of 16. At the age of 21 (2002)I started to experiment with SSRI (citalopram and fluoroxetine) antideressants to treat this and had some success with these. As I became better I started to want to recapture my youth and drank quite a lot of alcohol over over the years.
Avatar m tn What are some of the more common side effects of metronidazole for dogs?
Avatar m tn If I leave it go, what are the long term effects? I am just setting my up for failure, or it is a condition that it will be fine if left alone just remain dislocated, and deal with the pain?
Avatar m tn ) Anyway, one of my dogs had a few episodes of intermittent vomiting and diarrhea for the past 5 days - her stool was jelly like and one had traces of blood, and her vomit is usually gloopy and yellowish and at one time, had a tinge of pink / red specks in it, and recently it appeared foamy.
Avatar m tn I took 8 mg twice a day. I tapered down to 1 film for a while, then went to 4mg for 2 weeks, then did 2 mg for a week, then 2 mg every other day, then 1 mg for a few days. Your body def becomes dependent on it. And you will go thru withdrawals. Ive heard 500 different stories from 500 different people of how it's not that bad and the physical withdrawals only last for about a weekto its awful and that depression and anxiety can last for months.
Avatar f tn I have recently been feeling full of regret, very emotional and tearful, I have been informed this amy be due to the long term use of Naltrexone, and lack of natural endorphins , so i have been advised by my CDT Nurse to start thinking about coming off of them, is this right? Other wise, my life is so good compared to what it was, I am happy, but just feel like the past keeps wanting me to remember how bad things were... could my 'miracle' now be becoming my tormenter?
Avatar n tn I took Paxil for 4 years and expreienced headaches, drowsiness, heat rash, and some itching. I now take Lexapro instead and still have similar symptoms.
Avatar n tn Is there any info about long term plavix use. I have been taking Plavix along with Lisinopril and Toprol for the past two years after quad bypass but I don't feel very good about it anymore. Any info as in is this medicine weakening my internal organs.
Avatar m tn Dear whoever may know, I was diagnosed with anxiety and panic disorder 2 1/2 years ago, and I have been taking Lexapro at 10 mg per day ever since. The medicine has really seemed to have helped my life in all aspects. Whether it has really helped or if this is some kind of placebo effect, I am unsure. I still have moments of reasonable stress at work, but who doesn't...most importantly, I don't have panic attacks anymore.
Avatar m tn The only reason that I ask is that I've heard on of the long-term side effects on dxm use is being a bit lathargic. I'm that way now and the VA did an MRI of my brain and found that my adrenal glad had begun to shrink so, it wasn't producing enough of the thyroid hormone.....I can already tell I'm got some defects from the long term use in my cognitive abilities. I'm down to 18 pills day. 1 pill every two days. The morning w/draws have pretty much stopped.
Avatar f tn They certainly hear all the negative media coverage damning the prescription and use of long term opiates. If we influence or change one person's negative attitude towards chronic pain and its management than we are fighting the war against us! Yes the War against Us, Against Chronic Pain Patients. You should not be shamed or harassed into this position, "stop the mess and live in constant pain." Taking your husband to your next appt along with educating him may be beneficial.
Avatar f tn okay went back and did some hunting. this is a quote: "there are many side effects with using pain meds for cats however based on all avail info at this time the ones with the fewest side effects and safest for cats are the following..... Buprenorphine(buprenex) Butorphanol(torbutrol, torbugesic) Tramadol(Ultram) Fentanyl(duragesic) probably the worst one I've read about is metacam, this one can cause blindness among other problems...beware, many Vets still use it!!
Avatar m tn Your dogs may be passing diseases or parasites back and forth to each other. Giardia is very ubiquitous in the environment and difficult to get rid of. You may need a really good yard and house clean up with diluted bleach, and give a prolonged course of Panacur, or Metronidazole to all your dogs' simultaneously. I would continue the Metoclopramide while Ricky is on the Panacur or Metronidazole. Your dogs' may also benefit from 5mg. of pepcid each morning.
