My 10 year old blue healer had a bad reaction to Clavomox that was given to her for a leg cut. After about 5 days of taking this, she was barely alive (we watched her get very lethargic but she would get better during the day and then go downhill at night). We took her to a new vet where she was put on IVs and eventually got mostly better but a week later was very weak and was limping pretty bad.
I am a 26 yr old female. Jan 2007 is when it all started. I found out I had pancreatitis, they check my chol. level/normal. Iwas told that I proably got pancreatitis from a virous. Then 2 wks later pain in the middle of my stomach started I thought I had pancreatitis again but my lipase count was normal. The stomach pain went on for months.
along with this my pancreas enzyme amylase was at 146, again slightly raised, my styomach pains appeared after i had a tooth extraction and was on metronidazole and another antibiotic, because i had a gum infection i was to take this for nearly 4 week, after this my pains began. its been 10 months now, i suffer from gastritis and diahrea too i cannot eat fatty foods as it hurts and i get pains in my stomach, which give me back pains too.
Trouble was I had a really bad Nicorette habit. Low and behold I have chronic pancreatitis and if I chew the gum--the pancreatic pain skyrockets. I would say "YES" Nicorette either causes, triggers, or aggrevates pancreatitis.
I visited the doctor Monday with a vaginal infection and was given Metronidazole to start taking. I went back for results Wednesday and I was confirmed to have BV. My doctor then gave me Erythromycin to take (2, twice a day)... as well as the Metronidazole (3, three times a day). This seems like an awful lot of antibiotics. Why was I given Erythromycin, when from as far as I can tell, Metronidazole alone is the recommended treatment for BV?

im now being directed to take a gastric emptying study which i already have had done a year ago and those results were normal..my question is...is here a link between pancreatitis and bile reflux? and if so, would it not be indicative of an obstruction (due to the minor dilation) of my pancreatic duct....is there any remedies or speculation around these test results?
With each meal (2 times a day morning and evening) I also include some type veggies….such as mixed veggies, peas and carrots, green beans, and an occasional bite of a caned peach. He also has Stella and Chewy’s freeze dried raw kibble (chicken) that he eats a bit a couple times each day! I also add a tiny bit of coconut oil every other day! He just seems more lethargic now and not getting around very well…..
I had hyperparathyroidism and it was my understanding that was separate from my thyroid issue. I'm not sure that is clinically correct though.

Now its been basically non-stop, confirmed by mri, that it is chronic pancreatitis, and fatty liver. Im being sent to a pain specialist for the pain, and hoping he can offer relief, because Ive been recieving very little help from my doctor with that. Im 5'5", used to be about 138lbs, and now am 162, with gain of 10lbs a month on a low fat diet, no meat, no bread, soft food. I dont understand except unless wieght gain is from thyroid going wrong, im hypothyroid.
at first i didnt bother it but after my medication in soar throat and allergy(urcatitaria), my vagina started to became itchy and again, everyday i started having green discharged for `1 week. i went to a gynecologist and she prescribed me a metronidazole miconazole vaginal suppository and ive used that for `1 week.. now what my problem is, my white discharge had stop.. i am also currently taking up medice for my UTI and had experiexed sex but that was like long time ago...
Metronidazole can cause diarrhea as a side effect. But it may be also working on the infective cause of your dog's illness in the first place, so don't stop it without speaking to your vet.
Meanwhile keep your dog hydrated. If you can find an unflavoured electrolyte drink like Pedialyte that would be great. Plain water would do for a short time but Pedialyte would be better.
I was prescribed it last week for a bacterial infection. Took it 4 times and my face started to break out in a rash. Called the pharmacist and then the doctor. Both said i was having an allergic reaction to the medicine. Both said to stop taking it. I go to the doctor next week to ddiscuss other options. So just watch out for that.....
There was no physical examination, I explained my symptoms (nausea, diarrhoea, loss of appetite and abdominal pain - especially after eating) to him and he said there’s a possibility I have stomach ulcers and/or gastritis (caused by H. Pylori). I was prescribed Amoxicillin in conjunction with Metronidazole to take for one month, as well as Lancap. The pain after taking these were unbearable. Possibly because I couldn’t eat much without having pain and vomiting afterwards.
My heart beat is erratic most of the time anyway but when I tried taking flagyl for campylobacter, it didn't affect my heart at all. I just got extremely sick and intestinal issues worsened. They had to switch me.
For the past ten days I have been taking Metronidazole (Two 250mg oral tablets, twice daily).
I took my last pills lastnight around 10:30 pm.
My question is, would it be okay for me to consume alcohol on Saturday night?
I know my pharmacist told me to absolutely stay away from alcohol while I was taking the pills because I would vomit alot, and he said most people wait a couple of days after they've finished before they drink. Im just wondering if two days is enough time?
I went to the obgyn last week they ran urine samples and std tests and everything was okay, I told them I’m spotting still for two weeks now three and cramping the test came back for BV so they prescribed me Metronidazole I felt way too anxious about taking it , Friday I went in for a ultrasound and pelvic ultrasound I believe and got the results today that it was fine. They now prescribed me clindamycin gel which I will pick up tomorrow due to pharmacy out of stock.
