Avatar m tn I have been taking Lisinopril for 2 years and since then my resting heart rate is between 90-100. Here recently though after I take Lisinopril it has jumped to 130 when walking 100 when resting. I take Lisinopril in the morning and my pulse jumps but at night it gos back to being okay (Lisinopril's half life is 12 hours). I haven't taken today because I was out but my resting pulse is 90 and when I went to WalMart it went no higher than 110 unlike 140 yesterday.

Avatar m tn I have been hospitalized repeatedly since the heart attack and have tried all the usual medications such as verapamil, cardizem, imdur, metoprolol, lisinopril, norvasc and magnesium. I do not tolerate cardizem or imdur well. The angina was not controlled until they started me on Ranexa last year because the pain was constant and severe. I couldn't even walk across the room without severe pain.
Avatar n tn I have been working hard on my health and diet and just got clearance last week to stop taking the last of my meds. I took Lisinopril, Amlodipine, and Metoprolol. I was weaned off them all. I am now med free. Yay! Curious if anyone truly saw weight loss after stopping beta blockers.
Avatar m tn I take a generic BB called Metoprolol, which you may want to discuss with your doctor if your medication costs could benefit from the usually lower cost of a generic drug.

Avatar f tn I'm currently on Suboxone 8mg daily, my doctor just gave me metoprolol succ. 25mg. I've been tachycardic ranging from 110-150 so she wants to slow my heart rate and pressure but I'm terrified to take the medication because of interaction and slowing my heart too much. What do I do?
Avatar f tn She switched me to 100mg ER Metoprolol to take in the morning and 20mg lisinopril for the night. I had to take my bp every day and went back every week. Every week it would be high at the dr Office and she would increase the lisinopril. Mind you, I didn't take prescription anything prior to this except maybe an antibiotic when needed. Now I'm on these high doses of bp meds. Initially I thought well I'll get used to them, there's always an adjustment time.
Avatar m tn He increased Lisinopril from 5 ml to 10 ml (two 5 mil tablets) to lower my blood pressure. The other Metoprolol 25 mil 2 times a day is not change.
Avatar m tn I read that higher HR rate typically is accompanied with lower BP, but with me it is the opposite. Also, right after I take the BB, I feel a bit numb and woozy ... it does go away after a while. And a few hours after I take the BB, the HR gets back to the 100s... Any advice on what could be the underlying cause? How concerned should I be?
Avatar m tn I am 39 years old 5'9 230 lbs.I have mild hypertension. I am on 10 mg of lisinopril daily. I have a really high heart rate about 75 % of the time. In fact, I called my cardiologist a couple of weeks ago. They sent me to the ER. Doctors there said that the rhythm was fine, so not to worry. I just don't feel like that is okay. Sometimes I sit here and it feels like my heart is pounding through my chest. It is between 110 and 120 most of the time. the night I went to the ER it was 135.
Avatar n tn There are two type of Metoprolol, Tartrate and Succinate. With Metoprolol Tartrate, you take it twice a day, usually 12 hours apart. Maximum plasma levels occur about an hour after taking in and it begins to be metabolized. Typically, the dose is reduced 50% every 4 to 5 hours. This is why it's taken twice a day. Metoprolol Succinate is the time release version. It's taken once a day and is slowly metabolized throughout a 24 hr. period.
Avatar f tn After my heart attack and surgery I was put on lopressor and amiodarone for heart irregularities. Because of the bad side effects of amiodarone I was taken off of that and also my beta blocker got changed. My beta blocker was changed to metoprolol tartate ..25mg twice a day. It didn't take long before I noticed that I was having pvc's again (hadn't had while on lopressor and amiodarone) and it has progressed to where it is noticeable every day ......all day long.
Avatar f tn My ECG revealed lateral ischemia. I don't have health insurance anymore and therefore have not seen a cardiologist yet. I'm presently taking metoprolol, lisinopril, and spironolactone because my blood pressure is elevated. I am also experiencing shortness of breath which the metoprolol seems to help. How long can I go without seeing a cardiologist for this ischemia? I found out about the results of the ECG around May 17, 2013. Also, what is the difference between an ECG and an EKG?
Avatar m tn I do not want to be on this drug and feel there is no need for it. I have mild hypertension and proir to metoprolol was taking low dose of lisinopril which I am back on now.
Avatar f tn I was put on BP medication in January 2012. I started off with Amlodipine and Lisinopril and the Lisinopril darned near killed me. The prescribing doctor WOULD NOT take me off it so I just stopped taking it and made an appointment with another doctor. I have been taking 12.5 mg of Metoprolol and 10 mg Amlodipine for about 3 months. I have COPD and something was aggravating my breathing problems. I went to the doctor yesterday and he took me off the Metoprolol and put me on 100 mg of Losartan.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know the manufacturer for lisinopril, simvastatin and metoprolol? I need help with getting these filled each month.
Avatar n tn Just to clarify --- they stopped the sotalol and started flecainide right? They don't have you on both medications. Flecainide does not raise blood pressure and metoprolol is sometimes used to lower blood pressure. If you blood pressures are high, it suggests you might need more blood pressure medication or that you are very anxious about the medication change (this can happen). If the benicar was stopped -- it sounds like it needs to be restarted.
Avatar f tn Hi has your grandma been to a dermatologist what specialise in skin? Does the rash ooze or anything?
Avatar m tn s causing my heart rate with blood pressure very high. The only medication that works from what I tried is metoprolol tartrate. I started off by taking 2x 25mg. After 1 year my cardio let me increase the dosage to 50 mg x2, but everytime I increase the dosage it seems to work perfectly for the first weeks and then again it does not work well anymore. Does body develop tolerance to beta blockers? Do you need to take more and more of this medication to get same effect?
Avatar f tn Currently being treated for extensive multiple bilateral pulmonary embolisms with Xarelto. Hypertension is not being controlled adequately with Lisinoprol 20mg BID. Runs around 147/93 pulse 104 while sitting. They had me taking metropolol 25mg BID on top of the Lisinopril, but had to discontinue due to abdominal cramping, diarrea and major depressive mood swing, confusion and just a general feeling of being in a fog.
Avatar f tn A relatively low dose of Methimazole was prescribed, along with Lisinopril, and Metoprolol. I have been taking the same dosages for all those years, except my dosage for Methimazole was brought down to 1 and 1/2 pills (5 mg pills) about a year ago. Throughout this time, I have experienced palpitations, leg spasms (only when sleeping), eczema, depression, and heat intolerance. I have gone through many doctors and health professionals. I am now 71.
