toprol

Avatar f tn Hi, I'm a 33 year old male, not overweight, not diabetic, I've been dealing with tachycardia for some time now. It comes and goes. I found that 50mg of Metoprolol twice a day would mostly control it, but as a 33 year old man, I began to notice major erection issues since being on it. Talked to my doctor, they want me to start 120mg a day of Diltiazem. I'm a little nervous about it, but they assured me it's no more potent a medication.
Avatar m tn Blood pressure is normal but can be elevated into the 150/100 range especially when i'm in a very stressfull situation or when i'm having a panic attack. I start taking the Metoprolol last September. I start taking it at 25 mg in the morning and 25 mg at night. The dose wasn't enough to control the tachycardia, I had some moments of very fast heart rate higher than 100 bpm sit, not related to anxiety, followed by a return to a resting heart rate of 60-70.
Avatar m tn 25 mg extended release, which is obviously not enough, though I feel great in terms of strength and alertness and stamina, that were all seriously diminished when I was taking Propranolol. So, now I am wondering: I definitely need to go up at least to 50 mg, but should I do a 50 mg Metoprolol once a day, or can I take the 25 mg tablets twice a day (every 12 hours).
Avatar n tn HI, I HAVE JUST BEEN DIAGNOSED WTH STAGE 3 ckd and prescribed losartan and atorvastatin my bp is 125/75 with amlodipine and metoprolol so is it necessary to add a third med for pb and a statin. I'm afraid to take them because of bad reviews .
Avatar f tn I know this. My doctor prescribed Lexapro to help with the depression / anxiety cause by the metoprolol beta blocker. Has anyone else taken Lexapro for drug induced depression and has it helped ? The beta blocker has caused severe depression and anxiety. I need something to help me to get out of this hole and depression that I"m in. Can anyone let me know if you've luck with Lexapro helping with drug induced depression. Its the lesser of two evils.
Avatar m tn Some respond on low dose (25-50 mg of Atenolol or Metoprolol, 2,5-5 mg of Bisoprolol or 10-20 mg of Propranolol). Some need five to ten times that dose. Some do not respond at all. Which dose are you taking?
Avatar n tn I have tried several methods such as practicing but none seem to work. I have heard of beta blockers which seem to work from reviews I have read. Would I be able to get these to treat my anxiety given my heart problem? Finally, what is my life expectancy? (I really want to know because I have high hope for the future for what I want to do in a set time period) Thanks so much!
Avatar f tn Currently i am on propranolol 20mg As needed (not daily). My cardiologist tried to switch me to metoprolol daily but it made it much much worse and i had signs:symptoms of reynauds while on it. Now my cardiologist wants me to try nebivolol (bystolic) however its primarily a B/P medication and i havent seen too many promising reviews (pretty bad from what i found).. Any help, suggestions, people with similar experiences please reply.
Avatar f tn i am currently on low dose propranolol as needed. Metoprolol didn't work for me and made things worse. My cardiologist said i could try a new beta blocker called nebivolol(bystolic) however reviews online were not too good and in fact some said caused additional symptoms that never went and away so i havr not yet tried the nebivolol. The propranolol does seem to work for me for thr most part but gets no wherr near curing them or allowing me to work out.
Avatar f tn She is currently taking a beta blocker (metoprolol). This has greatly improved the racing heart, dizziness, and fainting. She has many other symptoms such as blurred vision, hot an cold flashes, cold extremities, insomnia, migraines, nausea, vomiting, continuous menstrual bleeding and continuous cramping. I may have missed a couple more symptoms, there are so many! She has so much abdominal pain from her cycle that she is vomiting a lot.
Avatar f tn I started Metoprolol about 10 years ago in an effort to stop my ever increasing episodes of SVT. It didn't work. BUT, it did do a good job of controlling my mild hypertension. So even after my ablation, I remained on it, and do so today at 75mg per day. I did not have a problem with my apetite following the procedure. On the contrary. I was munching on a chicken salad sandwich within an hour of waking up. With my bed raised just enough so I could swallow! I had what seem like a 50lb.
Avatar n tn Sounds like you have an exaggerated adrenaline response. My doctor prescribed Metoprolol 100 mg and told me to increase the dose to a point where I had effect but not unbearable side effects. At 100-200 mg I have good effect. I've even tried as high as 300 mg. Nebivolol is not used to treat arrhythmias.
102999 tn?1326859384 com, mag taurate is indeed sold with the claim that it “maximizes bioavailablity of magnesium”. Reading the consumer reviews (by no means scientifically studies), there are plenty of believers of this product. In conclusion, I have three recommendations: 1. In spite of lack of solid scientific evidence, it seems harmless to try the mag taurate and see if it helps you 2.
Avatar m tn The potential for abuse among those taking it for medical reasons is controversial with some expert reviews stating that the risk is low and similar to that of other benzodiazepine drugs[3] and others stating that there is a substantial risk of abuse and dependence in both patients and non-medical users of alprazolam and that the pharmacological properties of alprazolam, high affinity binding, high potency, having a short elimination half-life as well as a rapid onset of action increase the abus
Avatar n tn I know we are all told not to worry about it, but as has been said before, I wish they could be in my shoes and feel these irregularities. Taking a beta blocker (metoprolol) does seem to have some minimal effect, but doesn't always work. As far as anxiety is concerned, for me that is not a problem. So I'm back to square one. As of now I am trying to find an alternative solution (vitamins, Coq10, et.) that will work for me.
1475202 tn?1536274577 The medical evaluation is a series of tests dependent upon the specifics of each case. The surgeon reviews the results of this medical examination to further determine eligibility. 2109196 tn?1334186552 heart monitor watch was accurate, (It is, I check it with ER monitors and it is right on) and he didn't believe I had a 265 BPM episode in 1988 when I was just on Verapamil and still stayed conscious, even though I told him I could barely see through my tunnel vision. And yet, this doctor's reviews are almost all positive! Maybe those are just the ones he posts? It is hopeful to me that since most people have successful SVT ablations that mine will be.
Avatar n tn Sarah, I am in the same situation as you. I have actually been dealing with this for over 10 years now. It seems that the older I get the more blotchy I get, because I've advanced in my career and tend to do a lot of face to face million dollar negotiations with my job. It really ***** trying to negotiate or present and just feel the hot, itchy mess coming on. I would be extremely interested in hearing if anyone has had surgery for this and what the outcome was.
Avatar f tn Since he is trying to stay postive, we thought it would be a good idea for him to write about all the good qualities of the media and leave out the bad reviews. This is good for him since he still loves to watch movies, read, and listen to music, he always finds something redeaming even in stuff no one else seems to like, and this will give him an outlet to write, another activity he loves. I just need to make sure that he continues to give it a chance. Today it is off to the chriroprator.
Avatar n tn Yesterday my doctor prescribed an anti depressant which i am skeptical about, considering the negative reviews I have read. If you have found a solution please help me. I am 19 and getting ready to take my MCATS for med school but i can barely study.
