Seems my anxiety gets the best of me when the BP goes up and I dont want to start back on the lorazapam which i have been off of since last Aug. Any comments woulds be appreciated.
Avatar m tn metoprolol 25mg Symptoms: constant neck pain daily headaches. especially at top of neck extending to forehead dizziness with head movement severe stabbing/throbbing chest pain 1-2" below left nipple. random rib soreness/pain Sharp shoulder pain (both) Left elbow pain Left arm ache Frequent arm numbness when sleeping Frequent back pain/back easily becomes very sore. Stabbing buttocks pain.
Avatar m tn Blacking out and dizziness can be caused by a too low blood pressure or heart rate, or both. You say you are on BP medication, what is you resting BP? If it is real low, not likely given you normally have high BP, the medication may be too strong a dose or type. BP medication may also lower you pulse. I have had problems in the past adjusting to high dose beta blocker, e.g., 100 mg of Metoprolol twice a day. In the beginning by BP would go down in the range of 80/65, best I can recall.

Avatar f tn [Posted 01/27/2009] FDA notified pharmacists and consumers that ETHEX Corporation has expanded two previous 2008 recalls to include over 60 generic drug products recalled to wholesalers, and two generic drug products, Hydromorphone HCl and Metoprolol Succinate, recalled to retailer level. These generic products may have been manufactured under conditions that did not sufficiently comply with current Good Manufacturing Practices.

Avatar f tn SOME beta blockers MAY be risky. To label all of them as such serves only to frighten those who are on them. I've taken Metoprolol for 5 years and continue to do so even after my recent catheter ablation. My dosage has ranged from 25 to 200mg daily. I'm presently taking 50mg daily. It was fantastic in reducing the number of PVCs prior to ablation, and made SVT conversion much easier than befiore I was on it.
Avatar m tn The gold standard to diagnose Prinzmetal's angina is a coronary angiography (a test that produces an X-ray of the heart's arteries on a monitor) with injection of provocative agents into the coronary artery. Provocation testing may involve substances such as ergonovine, methylergonovine or acetylcholine. If a focal spasm (a spasm at just one spot) occurs and you have ST-segment elevation on an ECG, you have Prinzmetal's angina.
Avatar m tn I've been on Metoprolol 50 mg one in the AM and one in the PM and it makes me dizzy and makes me feel like my heart is squeezing and doesn't do grunt to really control my PVC's. I have a close friend who is a psychologist, my age, who has the same thing. He was on Metoprolol and complained to his doctor who forced the pharmacy to give him the real medication, Toprol. Toprol is the brand name. Metoprolol is the generic.
Avatar n tn When it gets to this point, the best action for me to take is chewing a Gas-X tablet along with half of a 25mg Metoprolol tablet. There is no doubt in my mind that the gas is the cause of my AFIB episodes. There is also no doubt in my mind that what is causing all my problems is known as "Roemheld Syndrome" - - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roemheld_syndrome.
