Avatar f tn Hello, I am going to be applying to receive a medical marijuana card for treatment of my Tourette, severe anxiety disorder and PTSD. I take 25mg of Metoprolol Tartrate every morning solely for anxiety to slow my heart rate down (I tend to get anxiety episodes where tachycardia is the main symptom). I’m wondering if anyone (preferably a doctor, of course) would know if medical cannabis would interact with beta blockers, such as Metoprolol Tartrate.
Avatar f tn About a month ago I was diagnosed with runs of SVT and PVCs. I was placed on Metoprolol 25mgs a day and I feel like a new person. I am using a generic made by Caraco. I am happy to say that I feel better than I have felt in years. I had the SVT and PVCs for years but none of my other cardiologists thought they were frequent enough to treat. Is that because they were males? I went to a female cardiologist and finally I am SVT free.
Avatar f tn I took my 1/2 pill of metoprolol 2 days ago and felt weird, which could have been just nervous bc I was scared of what it would do to my heart rare. My heart rate really hasn't been too high here lately so that's why I was concerned. That being said, the next day I didn't take any bc I was scared my sysmptoms were medicine related. I am struggling with a cold and called my pcp and she told me to take allergy medicine along with mucinex as needed.

Avatar n tn I had a heart double bypass in 2003, my feet are swelling and numb,I take a lot of meds. glucophage, actos, metoprolol, zetia, atacand, tricor, lipitor toprol-xl,sinemet,zoloft,wellbutrin. I'am worried about p.a.d. I had a stress test a little over a year ago, Doc said everything looked good. Could sitting make my feet swell? Iam the type that hears about something, right away I think I have it.
Avatar m tn When I went back to my doctor for a follow up on Friday, he also decided to put me on Xanax (PRN) and Celexa (10mg/1XD). I always research any medication I take, and have been reading that the Metoprolol Tartrate and the Citaprolam are a bad combination and can lead to extremely low blood pressure or even heart stoppage. I was wondering if anyone else out there has been prescribed these medications together, and if so, have you had any adverse reactions?
1198633 tn?1341185988 doctor on April 20th to further discuss my problems and on May 10th I'm going to see an allergy specialist to find out the severity of my allergies and get a needle test done. I am on Protonix and take ranitidine to try and relieve some of these problems but they usually give me little to no relief. I also take antacids basically on a daily basis. I've been taking Acidophilus also but I'm about to stop it because it doesn't seem to help either. My G.P. started me on a high fiber diet.
Avatar f tn I suppose it and the wellbutrin will go together well since one is an NDRI and one is an SSRI. I've just read that both wellbutrin and celexa increase the potency of metoprolol and I don't need my BP dropping out. Its already good. Just needed a slower heart rate. Now I'm wondering if I should just try the celexa at 10 mg and see if I can feel better... went to the cardiologist just to make sure these things were all in my head and she heard frequent PVC'S right off the bat.
503727 tn?1210442710 As soon as I get into a place I get so dizzy and my vision is all messed up. I get so hot and sweaty and my heart races. I want my life back. I still dont believe that its just anxiety causing all of this. I feel like I have something else wrong that the doctors cant find even though i have had bloodwork, mri, ekg, and they were all normal. I started taking .25mg of xanax once a day. still dont feel any better yet. So if anybody has any help please give it to me.
Avatar n tn My experience, my mom's, my neighbors and my docs as follows with TEVA generics which do not work or cause problems.....clonazepam, metoprolol, Wellbrutrin generic and oxycodone......they are like sugar pills, once put back on non TEVA generics all is well, very fearful for those with the generic Wellbutrin by TEVA.....people have gotten suidical .......that is scary ......this company is in Israel....FDA sure not testing efficacy of these drugs from this company..
Avatar m tn I've been on Metoprolol 50 mg one in the AM and one in the PM and it makes me dizzy and makes me feel like my heart is squeezing and doesn't do grunt to really control my PVC's. I have a close friend who is a psychologist, my age, who has the same thing. He was on Metoprolol and complained to his doctor who forced the pharmacy to give him the real medication, Toprol. Toprol is the brand name. Metoprolol is the generic.
Avatar n tn I'm on Bupropion 300mg/day and Xanax (0.25 - 0.5mg as needed). Also taking Metoprolol 25mg/day for hypertension. I'd like to ask my doctor to add Fluoxetine to boost my serotonin. Are there any bad side effects from combining these meds?

Avatar n tn I had been taking Celexa for several years, but changed to Effexor XR last summer, and then to Wellbutrin SR in November. Celexa and Effexor had been helping me, but my husband was concerned about side effects, and withdrawal and asked me to make a change. Now, I am experiencing tremendous difficulty sleeping, severe migraines, which had been under control prior to taking Wellbutrin SR, and dizziness.

603883 tn?1219967367 I just stopped taking lyrica for chronic pain due to osteoarthrtis for about 3weeks ago. I have started taking wellbutrin for 5 months. I do take metoprolol for the paplitations. I believe if your body can keep a beating heart, have seizures, and all the other wonders that keep us living or suffering, why not a strange quivering? A pinched nerve? anxiety possibly. This only happens right down my sternum and occasionally my mid to upper back and neck. this is so loud I can almost hear it..

168348 tn?1379360675 Three of them that I'm on apparently are bad for kidney stone formation and other stuff, HydrochloroTHIAZIDE, Metoprolol and Spironolactone. I'm also on Advair, Amlodipine Besaylate, Clindamycin Phosphate, Tretinoin gel, Noritate, Benzol Peroxide, Wellbutrin XL, and Cymbalta. I have asthma, allergies, high blood pressure, Seasonal Affective Disorder, and Atophic Dermatitist.
Avatar n tn I've had to be converted many times (which I absolutely hate btw) but now I'm a bit better at converting myself. They have been less frequent and of shorter duration since the Metoprolol, and because I have no insurance yet (Obamacare is still having problems with sign up) I can't afford an ablation yet. I don't think I'll opt for one anyway until they get to be a real pain (they tend to increase with age so I hear) so I figure one is somewhere on the horizon.
Avatar m tn Another thing -- some of these meds you're taking are very stimulating, such as Effexor and its class and wellbutrin, so if you're sensitive to stimulation those aren't your meds. There are natural remedies that also deal with these problems if you're having problems with meds, and they have fewer side effects, the body doesn't reject them, and they're easy to quit. There's a book called Natural Highs by Hyla Cass, a psychiatrist at UCLA, that might give some alternative ideas here.

Avatar f tn SSRI's are believed to reduce platelet aggregation which means less clotting problems: "SSRIs may reduce platelet aggregation. Many patients with depressive illness have dysregulation of the sympathoadrenal system as evidenced by an elevated plasma level of norepinephrine.
Avatar f tn Bupropion, also known as Wellbutrin (as an anti-depressant) and Zyban (as a smoke cessation aide) has a black box warning for suicidal tendencies and suicide completion. Anti-microbial drugs (antibiotics) that contain fluoroquinolones, such as Avelox, Cipro and Levaquin, have warnings because they can increase the risk of tendinitis and tendon rupture, especially in patients over 60 years old.
544292 tn?1268886268 I stick with it because I can remember what it was like to be in the FOG of TRAM, to walk into a room, and forget why I was there, I stick with it because I would rather not get killed on my motorcycle from being too fogged to care what I was doing. I stick with it because my grandson tells me how nice it is now to only have to ask grandpa ONE TIME to be picked up. (Pappa? Pappa? Pappa? Pappa?
