Avatar n tn Metoprolol, Benazepril, Isorb Mono Tab, Spironolactone, Simvastatin, Levothyroxine. What are the added benefits that would justify the new medication regime over the old? (In other words, can she go back to the older medication regime? What benefits would she be giving up?
Avatar m tn What started me down this "slippery slope" was an episode of Afib. It was after this that I was put on the simvastatin and metoprolol. I also take aspirin ( full dose ) and flecainide for the afib. Both the metoprolol and flecainide are taken at a low dose. My readings before I started the simvastatin, were ( 140 total ) HDL 33 LDL 79 and Triglycerides 139 . What has changed is that my HDL has gone down to 24 from 33 LDL has gone down to 65.

Avatar m tn coumadin, furosemide, metoprolol 50 mg,, spironolactone, Imdur 30 mg, Simvastatin and Lisinopril. I am also wondering if this may have something to do with one of my bottom teeth which is loose. Is there anything I can do to clear stop the peelig and flaky spots?
1210142 tn?1266080631 I'm also on aspirin, ramipril, and metoprolol. I started having moderate chest pains in Nov/Dec 2012 and my BP spiked to 150/110 max with a 130/90 min. I had also noticed that my blood was clotting almost instantly after a wound. I have a cat with claws so blood-letting is common in my home. In February, my cardiologist refused to renew the prescription for Pantoprazole, so I discontinued use on 2/4/2013.
Avatar f tn Metoprolol BID, Imdur, Simvastatin, ASA, Plavix, Vitamin D, Magnesium/Calcium, Multivitamin, and 1 gm L-arginine daily. I have noticed a drastic improvement in angina since starting the L-arginine 4 months ago (1 episode in 4 months versus the usually 4-6 episodes in that same time period).
428155 tn?1203692494 Been on HBP pills (Betaloc = Metoprolol) for 20 years (also aspirin, bendrofluazide, simvastatin, omeprazole - and now slow K-2). I almost always had trouble sleeping and used Temazepam moderately (1-2 at bedtime). Trouble with sleeping is dramatically increased by physical exercise. Cardiologist gave Sotalol to replace Betaloc, but it made the vibrations / state of shock worse. He is now thinking of an alternate drug or pulmonary vein isolation operation.

It seems my bp has gotten worse. Placed a call to the doctor Monday and they increased one of my meds (lisinopril) from 40mg per day to 80 mg. Increased another one (indapamide 2.5mg) from 1/2 pill per day to 1 pill per day. Prior to going to bed my bp will have dropped from about 180 to 160.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know the manufacturer for lisinopril, simvastatin and metoprolol? I need help with getting these filled each month.
Avatar m tn I have been hospitalized repeatedly since the heart attack and have tried all the usual medications such as verapamil, cardizem, imdur, metoprolol, lisinopril, norvasc and magnesium. I do not tolerate cardizem or imdur well. The angina was not controlled until they started me on Ranexa last year because the pain was constant and severe. I couldn't even walk across the room without severe pain.
Avatar m tn I have had five arteries by passed and an ascending aorta aneurism repaired. I had marginal high blood pressure, but not always, in the 130s over the 90s. My blood pressure so far after surgery has been controlled with a 40mg lasix, furosemide, once a day. I have lost 30lbs since surgery. I attend cardiac rehabilitation where exercise is done for 34 minutes in treadmills bikes, etc. 17 minutes on two of these within an hour with warmup and cool down exercises.
733362 tn?1489798536 I don't need a hospital recommendation and have a good Cardiologist. He is pretty upset with me because I stopped taking my Simvastatin and went with Niacin. My cholesterol is great on Niacin. Then I griped about Plavix thje whole time I was on it. He begrudgingly let me get off it in 18 months. The Metoprolol makes me feel like I have a big rubber band around my chest, can't breathe on it so I was using the Valium to help keep my HR down.
Avatar n tn Also my primary ordered a blood test that confirmed that my chlosterol is too high (240), so I am on 40 mg of Simvastatin. I have experienced some neck and head pain at night turning over in bed, which seemed to start at the same time as I started the medication. I have asthma, but well controlled with mouth and nasal inhalers. After the angiogram, my cardiologist put me on Amlodipine besylate (0.25 mg) and Metoprolol Succ ER (50 mg).

Avatar n tn That is one side-effect of beta blockers, but one some can get adjusted too. I take as much 200 mg a day of Metoprolol and it can affect me, even some dizziness at that level. I try to get by on 100 mg a day, still a stiff dose. This med also lowers BP, maybe you'd want to discuss with your doctor. A lot of people on this Community take it.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with Arrhythmia 4 years ago and the doctor prescribed following medicines: Altace 5mg Lipitor 10 mg Novo-Metoprol (75 mg two times a day) Aspirin My age is 62 years. Male Due to some domestic circumstances, I discontinued these medicines a year ago. I found recently that my blood pressure is around 155/110. Your advice.
Avatar m tn 4) but I am also having asthma and using inhaler (budamet) for last 5-6 years. Avatar m tn I am on Lisinopril - 40 mg (Blood Pressure) and Metoprolol - 50 mg (Beta Blocker), Simvastatin - 10 mg (Cholestrol). I am very concerned about this low pulse rate. I do not see the cardiologist till next Fri. for the consulation. I hope I don't drop dead before than. Any suggestions on what I should do.
Avatar f tn I also take a multi-vitaman and several natural supplements. My cholesterol has always been very high and for some reason unknown to me, my former doctor didn't have me on any med. to lower it. Also, I have smoked for the last 5 years and have recently quit. I exercised regularly and had just lost 48 lbs. when my aneurysm was "accidently" diagnosed. I would like to know if ANY MED I'm currently taking could contribute to the formation of another aneurysm.
Avatar m tn Your symptom of dry mouth is likely not related to the heart medications, but instead due to the high-dose of oxycodone and paxil is another culprit for dry mouth. Spironolactone, metoprolol and simvastatin do not typically cause dry mouth. I would talk to whoever is prescribing your anti-depressant and look into trying another one. There are many different anti-depressants. Also, if possible I would try to cut back on your oxycodone to see if that helps. You are on a very high dose.
15860670 tn?1443544854 Well you're in luck, because I take both Metoprolol as well as a Statin, so I can give you some advice. 200mg of Metoprolol wrecked me, and I'm a very active person usually. It felt like I was walking in concrete shoes. Every step was an effort, and any physical effort caused a heavy weight feeling in my chest. My heart just wouldn't get up to speed. Fortunately I was on that dose for about 3 weeks before my physician and I cut it back to 100mg.
Avatar f tn I also take simvastatin (Zocor) for my cholesterol as I am a Type II diabetic, the drug interaction checkers I've seen show that cardizem and simvastatin have amoderate drug interraction-any recommendations I could mention to my doc? Thanks for your help!
733362 tn?1489798536 no, I'm supposed to take lisinopril and metoprolol. I don't take either one. I stayed on Plavix for 18 months and Simvastatin for 3 years until I tore a muscle. I had a reaction to lisinopril, hives. The metoprolol makes your heart go crazy if you miss a dose and might be the cause of this headache. I take as needed. All that stuff has horrible side effects. Are you a nurse or something?
Avatar f tn My dad is stubborn and has only been to a doctor once in the past 40 years until Monday a week ago and that was when he had an ulcer burst and had to have surgery. I financially support my parents and insurance on him is way too high for me to afford. Dad has a history of very high blood pressure and ulcers. That Monday, Dad had a stroke. He was in the hospital for about 28 hours when they released him. He was diagnosed with a stroke and hardened arteries.
