Avatar f tn Lisinopril and Metoprolol when I left the hospital, now Lisinopril and carvedilol (coreg). seems like a relatively common combination.
Avatar f tn She switched me to 100mg ER Metoprolol to take in the morning and 20mg lisinopril for the night. I had to take my bp every day and went back every week. Every week it would be high at the dr Office and she would increase the lisinopril. Mind you, I didn't take prescription anything prior to this except maybe an antibiotic when needed. Now I'm on these high doses of bp meds. Initially I thought well I'll get used to them, there's always an adjustment time.
Avatar m tn MY kidneys are also fine and my Liver. Why would Lisinopril cause the Tach and then sudden increase. Asked a Pharmacist and he said that it is a downplayed side effect of Ace Inhibitors that it does happen. My Blood Pressure has been around normal all day the highest is 135/80 when I eat and my pulse is around 90-100 now 3rd day off of Lisinopril.
Avatar f tn 5mg started yesterday, I was originally taking lisinopril 10mg and metoprolol 25mg. I was fine with lisinopril and metoprolol the only issue was when I get a cough it will last 2 to 3 months, I can't get any sleep at all do to dry cough. The doctor took me out of both medications for 30 days but my HBP would rise especially evening time. The Doctor is now having .
Avatar n tn I’m only taking 5 mg of lisinopril and I take 150 mg Zoloft I’ve been having a extra heartbeat (palpitations ) my cardio put me on 12.5 mg of metoprolol a 25 mg cut in half is this all safe to take togather.?
Avatar m tn I have been hospitalized repeatedly since the heart attack and have tried all the usual medications such as verapamil, cardizem, imdur, metoprolol, lisinopril, norvasc and magnesium. I do not tolerate cardizem or imdur well. The angina was not controlled until they started me on Ranexa last year because the pain was constant and severe. I couldn't even walk across the room without severe pain.
Avatar n tn I have been working hard on my health and diet and just got clearance last week to stop taking the last of my meds. I took Lisinopril, Amlodipine, and Metoprolol. I was weaned off them all. I am now med free. Yay! Curious if anyone truly saw weight loss after stopping beta blockers.
Avatar n tn There are two type of Metoprolol, Tartrate and Succinate. With Metoprolol Tartrate, you take it twice a day, usually 12 hours apart. Maximum plasma levels occur about an hour after taking in and it begins to be metabolized. Typically, the dose is reduced 50% every 4 to 5 hours. This is why it's taken twice a day. Metoprolol Succinate is the time release version. It's taken once a day and is slowly metabolized throughout a 24 hr. period.
Avatar m tn I was given medication to reduce my blood pressure which did eventually drop to about 145/75 . I was discharged and prescribed 10 mg. of Lisinopril daily. However, my bp has remained high at 177-155/93-74. Before the implant it was 140-125/70-62. The pacemaker is set to pace at 50-130 bpm. Has anyone had a similar experience of their bp undergoing a significant increase in bp after an implant and, if so, what was done to overcome the increase ?
Avatar f tn Are there similar documents (guidelines, recommendations) regarding criteria for weaning patients off of lisinopril, metoprolol tartrate and aspirin ? What are the pre- and post conditions? By "pre-conditions" I mean which conditions must be met while on medication to start weaning a patient off of the drugs. And by "post-conditions" I mean which conditions must be met *after* a patient has been weaned off of the drugs?

Avatar m tn Please read this thread. It's only three posts, burnt is a similar problem. My comment is at the bottom. http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Heart-Rhythm/Can-Lisinopril-Cause-Pulse-To-Increase/show/109204 I wouldn't buy what they're telling you. I believe this rate is outside of the norm if it's occurring day in and day out. A beta blocker like Metoprolol will lower your blood pressure and we'll as your heart rate.
Avatar m tn that my blood pressure reading is 180 - 91 he added 5 ml lisinopril 1 daily I was directed to measure my blood pressure daily and keep a record for the scheduled appointment (8 Dec 10)
Avatar f tn Metoprolol worked great for me used to have a heart rate of 117 sitting and 145 doing any minor task. Now my resting heart rate is 50 and doing minor tasks it is 70. Lowered my blood pressure to 110/70. it is now the only blood pressure medicine I take.
Avatar f tn My ECG revealed lateral ischemia. I don't have health insurance anymore and therefore have not seen a cardiologist yet. I'm presently taking metoprolol, lisinopril, and spironolactone because my blood pressure is elevated. I am also experiencing shortness of breath which the metoprolol seems to help. How long can I go without seeing a cardiologist for this ischemia? I found out about the results of the ECG around May 17, 2013. Also, what is the difference between an ECG and an EKG?
Avatar f tn My husband also has irregular heart rate and this week we got him switched back from generic metoprolol succinate to toprol XL and lo and behold he is back in good heart rhythm. That got me thinking if indeed my problem could be similiar.......one thing that has really upset me is that after my heart attack my EF was at 42% and it has dropped to 30% and again wonder if I need to be on diferent drugs. My dr thinks that isn't the answer but I'm not sure...... Any thoughts?
Avatar m tn I do not want to be on this drug and feel there is no need for it. I have mild hypertension and proir to metoprolol was taking low dose of lisinopril which I am back on now.
Avatar f tn I have COPD and something was aggravating my breathing problems. I went to the doctor yesterday and he took me off the Metoprolol and put me on 100 mg of Losartan. He told me to just stop taking the Metoprolol. I questioned starting off with such a high dose of Losartan. I seem to be very sensitive to these medications and felt starting right off with 100 mg was a bit high. Everything I've read online suggests people are usually started off with 50 mg.
Avatar n tn Flecainide does not raise blood pressure and metoprolol is sometimes used to lower blood pressure. If you blood pressures are high, it suggests you might need more blood pressure medication or that you are very anxious about the medication change (this can happen). If the benicar was stopped -- it sounds like it needs to be restarted. A generic ACE inhibitor like lisinopril is cheaper and works just as well.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know the manufacturer for lisinopril, simvastatin and metoprolol? I need help with getting these filled each month.
Avatar f tn Hi has your grandma been to a dermatologist what specialise in skin? Does the rash ooze or anything?
Avatar m tn I am healthy 23 years old male, who is suffering from GAD and it's causing my heart rate with blood pressure very high. The only medication that works from what I tried is metoprolol tartrate. I started off by taking 2x 25mg. After 1 year my cardio let me increase the dosage to 50 mg x2, but everytime I increase the dosage it seems to work perfectly for the first weeks and then again it does not work well anymore. Does body develop tolerance to beta blockers?
Avatar f tn If you are not responding to lisnopril and metoprolol is causing side effects then other beta blockers can be tried or you can be given diltiazem or verapamil. Heart ECHO, holter, or stress ECHO etc should be done. You should also get your blood cholesterol, lipid, triglyceride, blood sugar and thyroid levels checked. Please discuss this with your cardiologist. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
Avatar f tn A relatively low dose of Methimazole was prescribed, along with Lisinopril, and Metoprolol. I have been taking the same dosages for all those years, except my dosage for Methimazole was brought down to 1 and 1/2 pills (5 mg pills) about a year ago. Throughout this time, I have experienced palpitations, leg spasms (only when sleeping), eczema, depression, and heat intolerance. I have gone through many doctors and health professionals. I am now 71.
Avatar n tn They did not think much of it and refused to adjust/change any of the medications. I am taking 25 mg of Metoprolol twice/day, Lipitior, Plavix and Lisinopril. The Dr. said this is the right mix fro me. I called the Dr. (office) and explained that I was still feeling dizzy and that a few times almost experienced Syncope. His nurse said that they would call me back after she spoke to the Dr. about it, but never did.
