Common Questions and Answers about Metoprolol and lisinopril

Avatar n tn is it safe to take metoprolol 50mg er lisinopril 10 mg and hctz 25 mg all once a day
Avatar n tn Overall, if you have hypertension then it is reasonable to use this therapy -- but mainly for the hypertension. However, without hypertension and in the setting of a normal ejection fraction and no symptoms then there would be no reason for the therapy. If you have severe regurgitation and and symptoms or decreased LV fucntion then surgical therpay would be indicated.
Avatar f tn i was changed from lisinopril 40 to metoprolol 50 bid for htn change was made to get better arrythmia control within 1 week bp went to 200 over 110 8 pound weight gain and severe headache.. is this a common thing to happen after abrupt ace stoppage and starting beta blocker? hx of mod mitral aortic tricuspid regurg la enlargement to 5.
Avatar m tn I do not want to be on this drug and feel there is no need for it. I have mild hypertension and proir to metoprolol was taking low dose of lisinopril which I am back on now.
Avatar f tn She switched me to 100mg ER Metoprolol to take in the morning and 20mg lisinopril for the night. I had to take my bp every day and went back every week. Every week it would be high at the dr Office and she would increase the lisinopril. Mind you, I didn't take prescription anything prior to this except maybe an antibiotic when needed. Now I'm on these high doses of bp meds. Initially I thought well I'll get used to them, there's always an adjustment time.
443862 tn?1238003039 I removed the atacand myself last Sunday and this past week have felt great. I do smoke, metoprolol has the side effect of cold hand and feet, very, very true and it said even more so in smokers. Anways, better than a racing heart! My pulse is now nicely in the 80s, having come down from 103-108. The only time that I was dizzy was when i was 80/50 with both meds. Now ont he met on it's own, not dizzy at all.
Avatar m tn MY kidneys are also fine and my Liver. Why would Lisinopril cause the Tach and then sudden increase. Asked a Pharmacist and he said that it is a downplayed side effect of Ace Inhibitors that it does happen. My Blood Pressure has been around normal all day the highest is 135/80 when I eat and my pulse is around 90-100 now 3rd day off of Lisinopril.
Avatar f tn When they were trying to control rate with JUST beta blockers... I took 200 of propranolol and 300 of metoprolol and occasional 100 of labetalol here and there. It helped but it worked a LOT better when other classes of drugs were added. Since the point is to slow you down, it generally SLOWS you down. When I was on THAT much, I felt like I was nailed to the couch. Now, instead I take coreg as a beta blocker and diltiazem, and flecainide and lisinopril.
Avatar n tn metoprolol is a beta blocker and is mainly given in hypertension, angina and cardiac arrethmias. it should be taken by the halp of your physician. if you want to goes off it suddenly it can affect alot. so you have to taper off it by steps. Dr.
Avatar m tn I have been prescribed 10mg of lisinopril, 5mg of felodipine daily and then a few visits to a very enthusiastic GP he has put me on 2x 95mg metoprolol succinate daily because I had a high heart rate in all my readings. My BP and heart rate now seems to be okay when I get it checked but this seems like a very high dose of metoprolol and I'm getting worried it's going to cause me some damage in the long term.
Avatar f tn I went up to 20 mg on the Lisinopril with the Atenolol, still not lowering it enough. He then changed me to Metoprolol 100 mg bid and Lisinopril 20 mg daily. Since the change (3 weeks ago) I have noticed an increase in my anxiety levels. Anxious all the time and having panic attacks. What's happening to me.
Avatar f tn Lisinopril and Metoprolol when I left the hospital, now Lisinopril and carvedilol (coreg). seems like a relatively common combination.
Avatar n tn I never had a problem until this new doctor switched me to generics in October of 2010. Everything went downhill. I was on Atenolol and Lisinopril-coughing for 2 months. Kept calling and was told my body had to get used to it.(He only had me on 50mg, where I was on 200mg before. I went to some pharmacy school and knew something didn't sound right.) Hands and LEgs were now ice hold. Never had a problem before. bruising. After 4 months I could not take it anymore.
Avatar n tn I have been working hard on my health and diet and just got clearance last week to stop taking the last of my meds. I took Lisinopril, Amlodipine, and Metoprolol. I was weaned off them all. I am now med free. Yay! Curious if anyone truly saw weight loss after stopping beta blockers.
Avatar m tn I am also have been on lexapro for the last 6 months. and Lisinopril for 4 months. I decided to go to the cardiologist, and he did multiple ecg, and a stress echo and everything was normal.
Avatar m tn I have also went thru a cath of heart with only a 20% blockage in one area, I have been put on Warfrin for that, and Amiodarone, Lisinopril, Aspirin Chew tab, Metoprolol. My Blood presure also went up. They also have me on Methocarbamol for muscle spasm in my back/Arms. 642877 tn?1281802882 I think it is one of the possible side effects, and when I've taken 200 mg of Metoprolol a day, I fatigue and dizziness problems. So, it can do it to me at high dose levels.
Avatar f tn They just kept adding more and more meds until I fell over pulseless. Now I'm on coreg, flecainide, diltiazem, and lisinopril. I never have had high blood pressures and all these sometimes about tip me right over. If I don't take them though, my rate runs away. The ablations were only marginally successful. A pacemaker now prevents me from too slow side effects of the meds, but I have learned that hypotension can still be a problem.
1475202 tn?1536274577 Other daily meds include xifaxan, lactalose, lexapro and metoprolol. Blood pressure diuretic Lisinopril,Hydrochlorthiazide 20mg/12.5mg. BP is 100/58. Diagnosed at age 38 currently 39 male. 1) Finally on to my question, is it really strange that I don’t have or never have had Ascites or Edema? Is this a problem you see in my future? 2) I’ve tried to provide as much information as possible so I could ask you if you agree with my doctors assessment of transplantation.
Avatar f tn Metoprolol. I am on Lipitor and Lisinopril. I am a type 2 insulin dependent diabetic who smoked for twenty five years and have been a not well controlled diabetic for three years. Doctor said my heart attack was from smoking and being an uncontrolled diabetic. I have quit smoking and have been following a proper diet since the heart attack two weeks ago. I am forty five years old. I went back to the ER thinking the numbness and tingles were another heart attack, not so.
Avatar f tn I went up to 20 mg on the Lisinopril with the Atenolol, still not lowering it enough. He then changed me to Metoprolol 100 mg bid and Lisinopril 20 mg daily. Avatar f tn After the last episode yesterday my friends begged me to go to the ER (and yes, I probably should have) but my PCP saw me today, ran a bunch of tests and I'm off to a cardio asap. The ECG was abnormal, and something about my orthostatic hypotension heart rate was off. The blood pressure itself did the right thing (went from 114/72 while lying down to 123/78 while standing), but my heart rate went from 68 to 98. I have no idea what these results mean though.
Avatar n tn I heard digoxin is not considered good anymore, may be because can be dangerous; my cardiologist put me on metoprolol 50 mg and flecainide 2x50mgs. Are you confortable with your cardiologist? How old are you? Hope you'll be better.
Avatar n tn Not libido, but maintaining a firm erection. I went off Zocor, and Dyazide 3 months ago for financial reasons and the problem went away. I have started to take the Dyzazide againg and the problem seems to be starting again. It appears the problem is therefore Dyazide related. I am going to see my doctor in a couple of weeks and am trying to be informed before I see him.
Avatar n tn ) The cardiologist at discharge said he hoped it would get better but did not know why the EF dropped. Put me on Lisinopril, metoprolol, Lasix and aspirin. I located a cardiologist near home, explained the situation, he performed an echo and confirmed that my EF was low (37%) and the heart was not functioning as well as it should, plus the echo shows moderate aortic leakage. Granted it has only been 4 weeks since surgery, but simple tasks leave me out of breath or dizzy.
Avatar n tn Half in the morning and half at night. I also take 0.25 of digoxin and 5 mg of lisinopril. I have only taken the metaprolol and digoxin for less than a week so I guess it will stabilize soon. So far it has not really helped the arrythmias. If it does not help in several weeks maybe my cardio will change them. Thanks again for your help.
Avatar n tn There are two type of Metoprolol, Tartrate and Succinate. With Metoprolol Tartrate, you take it twice a day, usually 12 hours apart. Maximum plasma levels occur about an hour after taking in and it begins to be metabolized. Typically, the dose is reduced 50% every 4 to 5 hours. This is why it's taken twice a day. Metoprolol Succinate is the time release version. It's taken once a day and is slowly metabolized throughout a 24 hr. period.
Avatar n tn Since then we have tried Norvasc, and metoprolol all with side effects. After discontinuing the metoprolol, I noticed my hands, feet and sometimes knees were becoming discolored when I sat or after showering. When standing or lying they returned to normal color. My doc said this is from the blood pooling and was probably related to taking the beta blockers. I am still on Lisinopril and now Cardizem but as still having problems with the red hands & feet. It is very embarrassing.
Avatar m tn coumadin, furosemide, metoprolol 50 mg,, spironolactone, Imdur 30 mg, Simvastatin and Lisinopril. I am also wondering if this may have something to do with one of my bottom teeth which is loose. Is there anything I can do to clear stop the peelig and flaky spots?
Avatar m tn I wish my doctor had put me on a low dose of some nice, easy to manage ACE inhibitor and been done with it. As I withdraw I am experiencing massive fatigue, serious anxiety, and a boatload of PVC's and PAC's. I'll let everyone know when I'm out of the woods.
