Avatar n tn My first pregnancy I was on Aldomet for hypertension and did just fine. Now my MD would like to try Metoprolol 25mg bid for this pregnancy, when it happens. I cannot take the ACE inhibitor I usually take and I am now on the Lopressor. Does anyone know of a woman that has taken Metoprolol and what are the risk factors w/ pregnancy? Is it really approved to take during pregnancy? Do you know if miscarriage rate is greater w/ this drug?
Avatar n tn is it safe to take metoprolol 50mg er lisinopril 10 mg and hctz 25 mg all once a day
Avatar m tn So, my cardio took me off of the ramipril and put me on 12.5 mg of metoprolol twice a day and in addition to my 12.5 of HCTZ. However, after a week of feeling exhausted, having a resting heart rate consistently in the low 50s, and not much higher otherwise, I complained during my follow up. My cardio gave me some samples of 10 mg coreg to take once a day and a prescription to fill if the side effects from the metoprolol do not get any better.
Avatar m tn Is metoprolol and amlodipine safe to take?Since I am 38 only what would be its long term effects. That is taking the drug for over 30 years? Finally whether the dosage may be changed? Please help.
Avatar m tn I would say that the HCTZ was doing a better job than metoprolol and as a result your blood pressure may have risen - leading to the headache you are now experiencing.
Avatar f tn I have well controlled blood pressure (with metoprolol and HCTZ). I am so anxious about this but also realize that heart problems can be caused by hypothyroidism....catch 22. Hope I get a response from this inquiry from someone.
1198633 tn?1341185988 As far as other medications I take they are Lexapro, Verapamil, HCTZ, Loratadine, Dexilant, and Xanax XR. I was taken off metoprolol when this started because there was a concern that I could have had a delayed adverse reaction to it and that has since been replaced by the HCTZ and then Verapamil was added to help with the bouts of tachycardia. Does this all sound like something that truly could be anxiety/stress related?
Avatar m tn You could see my vein on the left side above my eye towards my hair line pulsating, does this symbolize anything? Also I am now on blood pressure meds Diovan 160 mg 2x Daily, Adalat 90 mg, hctz 25 mg and low dose asprin......is this needed, not needed and will these be something I always have to take even if I lower my BP? Anything I can do to lower bp outside of lose weight.
612551 tn?1450025775 The CCB also seemed to reduce some of the fatigue I was experiencing from a high dose BB (was at 100 mg Metoprolol, now at 50 mg). Then about a week to ten days ago I noticed my left ankle, and on inspection my right ankle and both feet were swollen. I did not have any pain and remain able to walk for normal daily duties. The swelling goes down considerably overnight, with my feet elevated to the normal sleeping position (not artificially elevated).
390388 tn?1279639813 I switched to taking it in the AM along with my Triamterene/HCTZ, and Metoprolol instead of mid-day.....in which it was dropping my HR into the low 60's. I'm just so wiped out feeling anymore. I hope my body adjust soon...... And realllllly hope they can also figure out why I'm in so much pain all the time. Mainly with my back; but, my stomach and all over body pains too. I feel like a real mess anymore. Sigh In case anyone has been reading my post.
Avatar n tn I'm currently taking 3 medications to lower my blood pressure, Norvasc,Atenonol and hctz for flood retention. I spoke to my doctor about coming off of the atenonol and she stated that I could but gradually because it would make my heart palpitate, so now I'm scared to come off of the medicine due to how I'm going to feel. Do anyone have any information they could share about ATENONOL?

1198633 tn?1341185988 doctor on April 20th to further discuss my problems and on May 10th I'm going to see an allergy specialist to find out the severity of my allergies and get a needle test done. I am on Protonix and take ranitidine to try and relieve some of these problems but they usually give me little to no relief. I also take antacids basically on a daily basis. I've been taking Acidophilus also but I'm about to stop it because it doesn't seem to help either. My G.P. started me on a high fiber diet.
Avatar m tn MY GASTROLOGIST SEEMS TO THINK THE PAIN IS GAS AND THE BLOOD IS ALSO RELATED TO MY GASTRITIS AND DIVITICULITIS. I AM A LITTLE MORE CONCERNED HOWEVER. SHOULD I SEEK A SECOND OPINION OR DISCUSS THESE CONCERNES WITH MY PRIMARY CARE DOCTOR? I FEEL THE PAIN MORE WHEN I EAT. I HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH SEVERE HOMORRHOIDS AS WELL. I AM ON MULTIPLE PRESCRIPTIONS AS WELL THAT I HAVE BEEN TOLD COULD BE AFFECTING MY HEALTH. THESE INCLUDE: 1) LEVETIRACETAM 1,000 MG. 3X DAY/ 2) DIVALPROEXE 500 MG.
Avatar n tn I am on losartan 25 mg daily, lisinopril/hctz 20/12.5 daily and metroprolol 50mg at night. does this combination interfere with each other.
Avatar m tn Your heart rate being slow is reflective of two of the medications that you are on that block the atrioventricular node (conduction system of the heart); diltiazem and metoprolol. Neither of those medications are good at controlling blood pressure. A better beta blocker to use rather than metoprolol is carvedilol as it acts to lower blood pressure through a different mechanism than metoprolol.
Avatar m tn PULSE RATE IS 43bpm. I SEE A DOCTOR WHOM PRESCRIBED DILTIAZEM 90mg X3 A DAY,METOPROLOL TARTRATE 25mg X2 A DAY.HCTZ 50mg X1. MY BP HAS BEEN AS HIGH AS 220/140. I HAVE NAUSEA, "BUGGY ITCHY" EYES. CAN'T FOCUS.
Avatar n tn I also take take flaxseed oil 2000mg daily total which I find helpful, plus I'm on other medications such as atenolol , cozaar , hctz , metformin, and tricor, though BP is very controlled average like 110/70, blood sugar moderately controlled, recently my cholestrol was off the charts. By the way I'm greatly aware of my heartbeat whether fast, slow, regular or irregular just part of my makeup I am told.
Avatar f tn Maybe it could be a result from one or more of my medications (lisinopril/hctz, metformin, metoprolol, nexium, nasonex, low dose asprin)? Should I be concerned?
Avatar f tn had his blood work and ecg done and showed no sign of heart attack over the weekend. the cardiologist and physician talked and they put my dad back to metoprolol 25mg with the diovan 160/12.5mg. so now he's on lipitor 80mg once daily, metoprolol 25mg (2x daily), diovan, and aspirin 81mg. any comment on this prescription mix? thanks so much for your advice.

Avatar f tn Doctor took me off ALL BP meds and my nose bled uncontrollably and I wound up in the hospital and was given clonidine as my pressure reached 100/97. Now I'm on 100 mg of losartan, no HCTZ, only a cough but....my pressure is not controlled and goes up as the day progresses. Any suggestions for something that works without these awful side effects?
Avatar f tn My dr is a conplete moron! He totally forgot he prescribed metoprolol for me a month ago...with the chart in hand so he must have forgot to write it in. The whole point of my last 2 visits with him was to wean off the beta blocker (metoprolol). So i was on 50 then weaned down to 25. How long will it take to wean off of this? The whole point to this drug, in addition to HCTZ was for hypertension caused from my Birth Control pill- which I have decided to stop.
Avatar f tn I am on a low dose of Levothyroxine (12.5 /day), statin, aspirin, metoprolol and HCTZ. When I had AFib they did and echo and said everything was fine but heart had a little trouble when relaxing ... but this is usual when you are having an ECHO performed during AFib. I also had a heart cath which showed two arteries (Proximal LAD 40% stenosis and D1 off of LAD at 50%...everything else was clean. Have been to cardiologist every 6 months since AFIb.
Avatar n tn Hello, I am on metoprolol and HCTZ for high blood pressure. My blood pressure has fluctuated incredibly for a long time, but I have been getting higher readings for the last 5-6 days. I have a home blood pressure gauge and use it regularly for years. My blood pressure fluctuates from 160/113 to 107/68. When the bp is low, (107/68) I feel dizzy. It bounces up and down even when I am lying down it can shoot up.

Avatar n tn I've had extreme dizzy spells for the past couple of days. I'm 27 yrs old. I had a baby 2 years ago. While I was pregnant I developed preclampsia. My blood pressure went to extreme high readings during labor. After I had my son I started taking a water pill everyday. After about a yearlater my heart rate increased so, my heart doctor put me on a beta blocker. I've been taking these pills once a day for the past 2 yrs.
Avatar f tn After taking this for about 3 mos I noticed that I was having palpitations, my lipid levels were very high-trigycerides in the 550-600 range-cholesterol hovered around 279, blood pressure at 150/90's at the doctors office. I was put on metoprolol 50mg and hctz 12.5 for the blood pressure, crestor 10 mg and 1 g of fish oil for the lipids.
