ritalin

Avatar f tn I am on 200mg lamictal per day as well as methylphenidate (ritalin). I got laser hair removal on my face. It was a very positive experience. No seizures (my diagnosis is JME and I get grand mals) whatsoever and no photosensitive reactions. Hope this helps you in your decision. I think it's well worth it!
Avatar f tn And they have helped my son so he can learn better, and he also has gone threw a lot and has to take medicines for Seizures since 2006. There are other things that the doctors should look at that go along with a child who looks like they have add or adhd. But they don't do the work to find out and parents don't always know better.. Wish I had know before I drugged my son with those drugs hope this helps you all..
Avatar m tn I have taken these for well over 2 years now with no indication of petite mal or grand mal seizures, or seizures of any kind. My ability to concentrate has increased dramatically. I asked my neurologist about sleep and he told me to take the Lamotrigine 250x2 1 time/day. From my personal experience I would try the medications and keep a log of good or ill effects, for the first 30 days to adjust for half life and discuss them with the prescribing DR.
Avatar f tn palpitations; headache; dyskinesia; drowsiness; blood pressure and pulse changes, both up and down; tachycardia; angina; cardiac arrhythmia; abdominal pain; weight loss during prolonged therapy. There have been rare reports of Tourette's syndrome. Toxic psychosis has been reported. Although a definite causal relationship has not been established, the following have been reported in patients taking this drug: leukopenia and/or anemia; a few instances of scalp hair loss.
Avatar f tn I just found out I was pregnant. I have been on 2 10/325 3 times a day since December since I broke my kneecap and found out I have a very rare wrist condition I was supposed to have surgery on on the 22 nd. I also have ADHD and been on Ritalin. I have weened myself down by a half a pill a day. Yesterday was the last one and I feel terrible. My back hurts I have no energy and I can't think straight. How long will this last and how bad will it be to come off the Ritalin?
Avatar f tn 12 to 14 hours for Vyvanse and 8 to 10 for Concerta. Thats very close to all day coverage and not necessary. Second, they are of two different chemical classes. Concerta is a methylphenidate based medicine, while Vyvanse is an amphetamine based med. Usually you go to an amphetamine based because your methylphenidate is not working for you. The only possible reason I can think of to take both would be to turn off your mind at night so you could go to sleep and stay asleep.
Avatar f tn and other times lasting up to a week, blurred vision, eye pain, unequal pupils, headaches, dizziness, and loss of appetite. I am only 28 years old and too young to die. Can anyone tell me what might be going on?
Avatar n tn Large doses of Ritalin can kill you, cause seizures and toxic psychosis. And yes ms vic its very similar to adderal. Did you say this is the first time you ever took this med? Why would you take so many? Are you alone right now?
Avatar n tn My son is 9yrs old and he is currently on concerta and I can not continue to afford the medication please I truly need some kind of help. I make to much for medicaid and CHIPS. Please help me. Thanks, Ms.
Avatar f tn Medicines for ADHD such as methylphenidate may help improve attention and concentration, and decrease impulsive and overactive behaviors. WIth regards to his urinating everywhere, talk to him about it and if does not follow, have him wear an adult diaper. Avatar f tn My doctor recently put on methylphenidate for my resistant depression and today was the first day I took it, I felt super for the first 3 hours maybe, but then a little shaky and fatigue, is this normal on the first day? I also take lorazepam for my severe anxiety and i want to know if there's any adverse reaction, I mean my psychiatrist put me on this just want to know if my reaction is normal, other than that the first 3 hours I felt super fine the depression decrease tremendously.

Avatar f tn Regrettably, much of the literature and promotion of the drug in recent years has ignored or understated the potency and abuse potential of methylphenidate and Ritalin. This appears to have misled many physicians into prescribing the drug as a quick-fix for learning and behavior problems. I want to emphasize that matters of this kind are vital but cannot be simplified.
Avatar m tn Would it be better to take methylphenidate first and bupropion several hours later? Or just spread them out further? (Taking them at the same time creates the same anxiousness, so I'd like to stagger them.) Or should I get a lower dosage of methylphenidate? (Or does this reaction really mean I do not have ADD?) Also, I *love* coffee--but I fear caffeine on top of this mixture just makes it a bit too much. Should I switch to decaf?
Avatar f tn Prescribed 20 mg methylphenidate three times daily. How do I determine if this is correct dosage? My PCP tested me 5 years ago but until I started going to counseling I hadn't taken it seriously, after seeing a counselor last year, she ASKED me if I'd ever been tested for ADHD and I was shocked but it became obvious when I started researching. It's very overwhelming at times but I'm past the denial stage and currently learning how to cope.
Avatar n tn his teacher has said that he is the brightest boy in the class but finds it hard to pay attention and fidgets all the time, he shouts out alot and when he is at home he never listens to a word i say when i ask him to behave. he runs and jumps about and never walks and talks constantly i have to ask him repeatedly every time i want him to do something. do you think this is adhd?
Avatar m tn i am taking methylphenidate two times a day one in the morning and one in the afternoon i'm fine in the morning because i go back to sleep when it is time to take my next dose after i do it makes me sick and have a headache and i am also taking 4mg of lexapro what should i do?
Avatar m tn if you look these drugs up you will see that people have had sudden death and some have had heart problems and strokes ,and Seizures. My son started having Seizures after being on ADDERALL witch did nothing for him and was then put on CONERTA , these drugs changed him . Now he has Seizures every day and more than one kind of Seizure even thou he is on Medicines and had Surgery last June and had what they call the VNS put in.
Avatar f tn s syndrome, angina, heart failure, heart rhythm disorder, recent heart attack, a hereditary condition such as fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption, or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency, or severe anxiety, tension, or agitation. Methylphenidate may be habit-forming and should be used only by the person it was prescribed for. Concerta should never be shared with another person, especially someone who has a history of drug abuse or addiction.

5757880 tn?1395578022 Hi Everyone! I have a 10 year old son who is diagnosed with ADHD, Anxiety, SPD/IPD and rule out of Asperger's/PDD in 2013. Currently, we have him on Methylphenidate ER 30mg per day, but lately we have been noticing issues. Mind you, the school hasn't been very helpful this year with information on how he is doing so I can only go by the vague messages received... the first 6 months, they say he was great!
Avatar f tn I've been intravenously using methamphetamine on a daily basis for over a year now. I am currently shooting about 1 to 1.5 grams a days. I am to have oral surgery to remove my wisdom teeth in at 9 am tomorrow and I used a little less than .5 grams at 10am today. Is 23-24 hrs enough of a time lapse between using and the surgery. I have a high metabolism, am 31 years old, a male and grew up taking ritalin(methylphenidate) until I was about 16. I've used meth on and off since that age.
6104130 tn?1379185811 If it was Tardive Dykinesia, why would any of my tics or tremors get better when I take Omega 3 or Coenzyme Q 10 or respond well to herbs like Valerian and Chamomile. Same with exercise? I have no tics or tremors after exercise and I can move really well. I don't have facial grimacing, that and my movements aren't constant or repititve. They're simply a sudden jolt or twitch, or a little shaking. If I had it I wouldn't be able to control it...not this easily.
Avatar f tn I recently began taking adderall for ADHD and extreme fatigue and exhaustion caused by Lyme. When i started taking it, the Morgellons skin symptoms became significantly worse. There are fibers and deeply embedded, thick filaments projecting from lesions on my face. (Quick Morgellons lesson: the fibers/filaments in the lesions are made of keratin and collagen produced by skin cells as a response to a complex bacterial infection. The keratin and collagen are produced in massive quantities.
Avatar f tn Available data for Amphetamines suggest no increase in the risk of malformation when used at therapeutic doses, while infants might have slightly lower birth weights. Human data on Methylphenidate is limited and we cannot rule out the risk of malformation given the available information. Alternative pharmacologic treatment options include tricyclic antidepressants, bupropion and clonidine; these drugs have more evidence to support their safety in pregnancy." from - http://www.
Avatar f tn I suffered 27 years following a tbi. With normal MRI and CT and no seizure I was told my symptoms were CONVERSION DISORDER. I KNEW this was not psychological in any way. BUT the more I tried to get help ;the more the doctors were convinced I as malingering, faking, delusional or worst. IT HAS BEEN the most difficult life barely able to take care of myself and only suicide made sense.
