1311475 tn?1274198780 ve been off of the methadone numerous times only to return to excruciating untolerable pain, to return to the methadone because of the benefits of pain relief and not being high. For the last 9 months or so, maybe a little longer I have had withdrawal symptoms or all of the side effects for the two medications that could possible be listed even when I was not taking the clonazapam, I had side effects. I am now taking 60 mg.
Avatar f tn i mean, do i take higher doses of opiate to get relief from my pain or is there a certain pain med i need to take while on methadone to get relief from my pain? please HELP!!!!
Avatar f tn I know as a mother that it is not easy to see your child suffer, but understand, this is all part of recovery, your daughters body is undergoing many changes due to having little or no methadone, it will get better, but only if she stays off methadone. The symtoms of methadone withdrawals vary from person to person, mine were like riding a roller coaster, some days were good, then the next day Id feel as if I were back on my first day of detoxing, so shes gonna have good days & bad.
Avatar n tn So whats this Subutex? Is it the Suboxone or part of it. I'm on Suboxone and it makes me so so sick i throw up half hour after taking it. Also it gives me real bad stomach aches. Even the taste is unbearable now. Probably cause i anticipate the throwing up. It is horrible. Its turned into a nightmare I'm hoping that this week when i see the Dr. that he will switch me back onto the methadone I'm insisting on it. Not another day not another week....
Avatar f tn I returned to methadone as was best option during pregnancy.(fortunately baby had no withdrawal symptoms). Haven't used heroin for about 5 years but so scared of withdrawal, thought i would be on one of the above for life. Baby now 19mths & have been withdrawing slowly so can still fulfill parental (single). I am currently on 4mg and have conflicting info regarding what to do next.
Avatar f tn Hi I agree with the others I dont think it will help methadone is a full antagnist tram is not the relief your filling is only a plasibo effect time to just bit the bullet.. acute methadone withdrawal take 7 to 10 days to run it course then the energy crash and no sleep just hang in there keep posting for support...........
4244020 tn?1351613916 Epsom salt baths as hot as he can handle it will give some relief and healing. I describe methadone detox as having no skin and half a brain. The wind blowing hurts, but hugs feel awesome. I'm glad he has so much support, just be patient with him and time will heal him. Keep posting for support and have him read the forum if he's having doubts if he can do it.
1566764 tn?1295357854 Hey, just wanted to see how you are and update you on my progress. I'm on about day 30 and the nasty stuff is gone but I'm still not sleeping great and feel tired. Nothing I can't live with. I've heard that it can take 60 or 90 days to feel really good, but I can wait. The codeine might slow you down a bit but I wouldn't taken it if I had some, just for occasional relief. And yeah, not like regular opiate withdrawal. It lasts a lot longer.
Avatar m tn I do not have true experience with that. I took methadone for a short time for CP and had no withdrawal symptoms when I stopped taking it. During that time I took Hydrocodone for break through pain. I continued to take it when I stopped the methadone. Have you discussed this with the prescribing physician? He/she should be able to help you through any withdrawal symptoms you may experience.
Avatar f tn So I get a new script today for Methadone 10mg 3xaday to start out with and no relief after taking my first one, 2 hrs. later another,ect.4 in all. Other than being wide awake. I feel like I ought as well been taking motrin. And now I run across this forum and whatthe....Now Im scared. Is this a road I dont even want to go down? Ive heard the DR., pharmacy and in this forum that it will get ahold of me, the Dr. and pharmasist just put it a little different(wording). What to do?
Avatar f tn Hope this information helps you. Doing a search for old posts by typing in RLS or Methadone Tapers/Withdrawal in the search bar at the top of this forum would bring up additional tips that may help you. Makes for some good reading when you can't sleep! LOL Let us know how you're doing, ok?
1253584 tn?1332877954 The point is, you need to be in at least mild to mod. withdrawal for it to work out the best. That day that I went from methadone to sub was a painful lesson so just wait as long as you can before you try to get on it. The last thing we need is more pain right? My whole experience with opiates - and I'm sure you can agree - has been absolute hell.
Avatar f tn I have someone very close to me that can't get off methadone despite numerous attempts... They have tried everything from loritabs to quitting cold turkey and the withdrawals are horendous...
Avatar f tn I think it is a crime that every doctor is pushing methadone for pain relief, due to pressure of the costs of other available, less harmful methods. Is there a panel ANYWHERE looking into this epidemic for the pain SUFFERER? I am NOT going to become a methadone addict because it is SO CHEAP! I have several family members on methadone, much to THEIR chagrin, and now they can't get off it.
Avatar f tn I'm on week 5 of detoxing from only 60mgs of methadone (prior heavy IV heroin addict) and everyone keeps telling me it's going to get better. I feel like I have a body of a 80 year old women and I'm 33. I would rather withdrawal from heroin than methadone. It's the hardest thing I have ever had to do.
Avatar m tn I've been off methadone for about 3 and a half months now and the withdrawal symptoms still haven't gone away. I was on 110 milligrams of methadone for 3 and a half years, i detoxed myself very fast (in 3 months time) but i can't stand the withdrawal symptoms any more. Its not that the withdrawal symptoms are that bad but it's bad because its been SO long and i'm now willing to do subutex because i don't know how long this will continue.
Avatar m tn I couldnt get off of it myself. Liquid methadone was not the same. I needed 70 mg for pain relief. I finally found another Dr after three months of methadone clinic hell. He said he would give me methadone but only 30mg and zanaflex, and after a month, well see what we can do. Im in serious withdrawal on day five. What can I do? I dont want to bother the dr its my last hope!! But I have two kids to take care of! I have severe scoliosis, sacrolitiiis, hip bursitis, and fibromyalgia.
Avatar f tn Methadone was the best pain relief I've had but, after withdrawing from it I would never take it again. The ONLY safe way to do it is to taper a few mg. overtime. Your docor or clinic should be the one to tell you how much. There is definetly nothing wrong with tapering. Many, many drugs work that way. My withdrawal was terrible but, I did it another way. Don't even try cold turkey. It is not worth it and probably will not work.
Avatar f tn Let me start by saying I had a horrible addiction from oxicotin. I was on methadone for 4 yrs and I have been clean from EVERYTHING for 2. I got a job and 6months later I tore ligaments and pulled muscles and fractured my ribs. The Dr put me on hydrocodone. Its been only 6weeks and now I am suffering withdrawals. I AM HAVING OXICOTIN NIGHTMARES!!
