the problem is that i am now starting to feel some bad withdrawals and am afraid that if i go lower i will be in total withdrawal which i heard is bad for the baby.also, will the baby go thru withdrawals if i stay on 1mg.and if i wean to nothing will the baby be okay and free of withdrawals?i have no idea what to do and feel like time is running out. please help.
I returned to methadone as was best option during pregnancy.(fortunately baby had no withdrawal symptoms). Haven't used heroin for about 5 years but so scared of withdrawal, thought i would be on one of the above for life. Baby now 19mths & have been withdrawing slowly so can still fulfill parental (single). I am currently on 4mg and have conflicting info regarding what to do next.
my daughter is 33yrs old and was arrest on 8/27/08. At the time of her arrest she was on daily methadone (110mg). since they don't give methadone in jail she was forced into cold turkey withdrawal. Last thur4day she was sent to a mental health faciltiy because she is seeing things and hears voices. Please can anyone tell me is this somtimes part of the withdrawal or has she possible lost her mind.

If you are already on suboxone, you will most likely be switched over to methadone. Suboxone withdrawal in the pregnant woman is just as dangerous to the fetus as mom.going through methadone withdrawal.
I believe everyone is different. I was on klonopin for 2 years and became pregnant and had to ween off of it. This was not hard. However I was unable to ween off subutex (not recommended because opiate withdrawal can be very dangerous for an unborn baby) and switched to methadone for my pregnancy which is the most studied and safest drug to take while pregnant.

But I have been experiencing extreme vomiting and sweating associated with methadone and I am unable to find a doctor in Oklahoma who will help me! Yep right here!!...I swear, & not many people believe me, but my methadone withdrawal was almost like nothing!!...I was on it for 8yrs highest dose about 100mg, & from January to March 24, 2012 I tapered completely off...by myself..no Dr...I was 3months clean & started to have bladder/kidney pain, had some surgeries, got on oxycodone for that & am currently trying to taper off it...let me tell you, it has been beyond WORSE than the methadone!!!...
Methadone does collect in your bone marrow and fatty tissue. It also effects your thyroid and pancreas. The pain happens when you withdrawal, and it is horrrrible, im not sure how we can go through so much pain without being killed, but trust me I feel your pain. Also when you start detoxing, your nerve roots are raw and craving the narcotic like the rest of your body. Good luck to you, its a horrible thing to go through.
can my gp prescribe something for my cocodamol addiction (withdral) like methadone or somethng to get through the pain and symtoms?
i went from 60 to nothing in 5 wks my last dose was 33 days ago and im still rockin my skin crawls, my legs agg but the only thing that gives me comfort is that i know its not going to last forever methadone is an evil drug that seems to stay in your system forever ive heard of people who had withdrawal symptoms for over 6 months. so my advice to u is go as slow as u possibly can 1mg 2 tops a wk. it ***** having those liquid handcuffs on. good luck 2 u.
Nucynta will keep you from feeling withdrawal, it is a full agonist synthetic opioid, just like methadone. Personally, I would taper down as low as you can before the switch. Methadone is very strong, and if I'm not mistaken, Nucynta is closer to a percocet. You will be okay, and the new child should lift your spirits. I agree with your doctor about the methadone, you don't want to stay on it too long. Let us know how it goes.
So we really need some more information from you. There are 2 members on this forum that are very well versed in methadone detox and I am sure they will be by and see your post and respond to it, those people are Weaver and Gnarly, I will leave the rest up to them. I am open to questions should you decide to do a taper, we are not allowed to give tapering advice on this forum but you can PM me and I will tell you what I have done to be successful up until now.
I really worry about the withdrawal part of being on methadone goin to the clinic every single day, and getting my dose of 60 mg right now I have been on about one month for heroin addiction I used to be on this program 10 yrs ago but moved out of state and stayed clean for 10 yrs off heroin, but pain pills i still did like crazzy...
I was taking methadone to get off of pain meds the withdrawal didnt seem as bad as the methadone wd. My ? is what supplements do I need to get to try and get better.
I'm new here so I'm not even sure if I'm posting in the right spot but I've been battling with addiction for about 5 years now. I've read so many stories so I thought it would help to get a little support from you guys :)
It started after I had my daughter back in 2008. I started taking hydrocodone, percocet, etc. Basically whatever I could get my hands on. Well that went on until September 2011 started taking methadone. 40mg and day from September 2011 - June 2012.
So all together, in five days i had 47.5 m of methadone. My question is, with having takin this much of methadone in five days, will i withdrawal from the methadone? Or was the psychological discomfomfort i was feeling five days later clean off roxies just the withdrawal from roxies? I was told the methadone would mitigate my withdrAwals and i wouldnt have any from the roxies. Can some please let me know what they think is goin on?
