I went through methadone withdrawl about six weeks ago and I feel your pain. It was the hardest thing I ever went through. I found that when I felt like I couldn't take it anymore that a warm bath worked extrememly well. I went from 120mg to 0mg in 5 weeks and after reading everyone elses stories I am thinking that it did not make my symptoms worse or last longer. By day 15 I started to feel better but when you are going through it, better feels amazing!
HI I think your feeling the methadone withdrawal its post withdrawal can last a few months it would be great to be narcotic free but the patches should be bringing some realeaf the patches are hard to ween off its ezer if your on hydros or percs then taper off from ther or just pull the plug on all of it and go threw the withdrawal but ill beet its the methadone messing with you it took me a good 90 day to start to feel right after I detox off the stuff hang in there better days are ahead good l
My question is, with having takin this much of methadone in five days, will i withdrawal from the methadone? Or was the psychological discomfomfort i was feeling five days later clean off roxies just the withdrawal from roxies? I was told the methadone would mitigate my withdrAwals and i wouldnt have any from the roxies. Can some please let me know what they think is goin on?
Nucynta will keep you from feeling withdrawal, it is a full agonist synthetic opioid, just like methadone. Personally, I would taper down as low as you can before the switch. Methadone is very strong, and if I'm not mistaken, Nucynta is closer to a percocet. You will be okay, and the new child should lift your spirits. I agree with your doctor about the methadone, you don't want to stay on it too long. Let us know how it goes.
I'm currently prescribed 50 mg of Methadone and 10 mg Abilify but I have noticed a major increase of drowsiness. I have even lowered and started taking half of my abilify and split dosing my methadone and I have been able to function much better and much lower feeling of drowsiness through the day. I also have tired to go a day and a half without abilify and noticed restless legs.
does you doctor mean the side effects on triple are the same if your on methadone as someone thats not on methadone?....looks like a good thing to check into....my doctor recommends certain ads over other ads because of drug interactions...i'll bet a lot of folks take one thing or the other that blocks or impairs the absorption of the hep drugs without even knowing it...i tried to stay away from anything that would interfere with tx drugs including foods like grapefruits....
I'm a pain patient. I broke my neck some years ago so sustained nerve damage although I am still mobile. I have been on Fentenyl, Oxycontin and now Methadone. I am taking myself off Methadone, with my doctor's knowledge and have been told that my lexapro is a dangerous mix with methadone as well. I stopped titrating down off methadone and now am at 30mgs per day but I am now titrating down my lexapro dose. I'm finding that both drugs are hell to detox from!
ve seen of fentanyl detox and my own year long, slow methadone recovery, I think fentanyl and methadone are only different in dosage. The full synthetic nature and side effects of both methadone and fentanyl make them very close tie for the worst detox ever. As I vomit and shat myself in my yard from methadone detox, I remember wishing I was a heroin or any other kind of addict. Anyway, mute point, but wanted to share.

I know as a mother that it is not easy to see your child suffer, but understand, this is all part of recovery, your daughters body is undergoing many changes due to having little or no methadone, it will get better, but only if she stays off methadone. The symtoms of methadone withdrawals vary from person to person, mine were like riding a roller coaster, some days were good, then the next day Id feel as if I were back on my first day of detoxing, so shes gonna have good days & bad.
From my observation (and I know it was only observation accompanied by what the people were telling me), Methadone withdrawal is far more painful and grueling than Hep C treatment. My observation and understanding is that methadone withdrawal produces severe symptoms of withdrawal which last for months. (nausea, vomiting, severe abdominal cramping, bone pain, general body pain, total exhaustion, tremors, perspiration, fever, severe runny nose to name a few).
I would think it would depend on how high the dose u were taking was? Im think methadone would be harder than darvocet. I took methadone to get off norco I had no problems at all getting off but I was on a low dose and tapered it every week for a month. After that was over my dr gave me a scrip for ultram 200 cr I heard all the horror stories but I thought how bad could 1 pill a day be??
There is no better, faster, easier way to withdrawal by replacing one drug that has side effects with another drug with side effects. I suggest that you thoroughly read everything there is to know about the steroid you're talking about, before talking to a doctor.
Is there a way to find a doctor that specializes or is familiar with methadone withdrawal. I don’t know that I necessarily want to go to just any family doctor because I feel there’s probably still a lot of stigma with thisAnd don’t want to feel judged by the nurses or the doctor. Also it is my understanding that there is not a medication that helps with methadone withdrawal and getting off of it faster- I was told that you just have to treat the symptoms?
Now, its true that you have to taper off of the Sub when its time, but the tapering and withdrawal effects are hardly anything. I know because I forgot (while on vacation) to take my 2pm 1/2 tablet. I was so busy with the kids and having fun, that I always just forgot; and I never once, felt any withdrawal effects.

Hi everyone, I have posted here just a couple times, so most of you don't really know me well. I am on 51 mgs of methadone that I started using 7 years ago when I had pain, osteonecrosis in my jawbone, the pain was unbearable and I had no break in pain whatsoever.
I have been an opiate abuser for the past two years. at my high point last year i was doing up to 400 mg of oxycodone per day. i did detox and rehab and wasn't doing too bad til i started a new job that gave my access to narcotics approx 4 mo ago. i was clean for approx 2 months prior to that. over the past 4 months i have been taking anywhere from 6 to 18 perc per day. 2 days ago the only thing available was methadone, so i did 10mg in the am and 10mg in the evening.

I figured to myself, why wait to go through withdrawal if i'm going to go through withdrawal from the drug i'm taking to not go through withdrawal? Pay me now or pay me later. I didn't want me to be tied to having to take a drug for the rest of my life.

my GP put me on zopiclone almost two weeks ago after involuntary methadone withdrawal (75mg to zero in 8 weeks). It does get me to sleep but am now concerned with the possible addictiveness of it. Hey I was wondering if anyone knew if while I was trying to withdrawal from methadone. I started to use my DOC again and I am going to try a withdrawal using small amounts of suboxone for 3-4 days and then nothing. A friend is locking me in his house (he is a nurse) and going to try and help me.
I wish i had never been offered Methadone. I never noticed any side effects up untill about 2yrs ago. I have every known side effect,but the worst one of all at the moment is excessive sweating. My quality of life is zero. I sweat from head to toe most days all day. I sit with ice ,cold can's of juice sitting on my cheek's,my breasts and my wrists. Ive put on 4st in weight,and i know this wont be helping the situation. I don't know what to do anymore.
