It could be a side effect of the methadone or even an allergic type reaction to it. I remember when I took Macrobid (antibiotic) for a urinary infection, I had a high fever (102.3) every time I would take it, so I called my doctor's office and they told me to stop it immediately because I was having an allergic reaction to it. As it turned out, my father had had this same type of reaction to it a couple years before.

How did you stop the methadone? Did you tamper off of it? I was put on morphine release caps but did not like the side effects. I had to give them the remaining amount of pills in order to be placed on 25 mg of Fent. This did nothing for me and I had some percosets left so it got me through until he upped the dose to 75 mg ever 72 hours. I feel like it only works for 2 days and I have trouble keeping it on my skin. I was told that I have to buy this $30.

I am in week 4 of the Olysio/Sovaldi combo therapy and am disappointed at the side effects I'm experiencing. Prior to starting the treatment I was very encouraged by what I was finding on the boards, especially after two bad experiences with interferon treatment and an allergic reaction to ribavirin. sorry to hear your hubby is having a hard time. sounds like he is having some of the common side effects. There is nothing that can boost platlets but many docs let them go really low before lowering or stopping the meds. Try and get back on the full strength of interferon ASAP! Probably the most common side effect is the itching. I have it as well and it is horrible. I have found some relief with a prescription med called Atarax.

I wish i had never been offered Methadone. I never noticed any side effects up untill about 2yrs ago. I have every known side effect,but the worst one of all at the moment is excessive sweating. My quality of life is zero. I sweat from head to toe most days all day. I sit with ice ,cold can's of juice sitting on my cheek's,my breasts and my wrists. Ive put on 4st in weight,and i know this wont be helping the situation. I don't know what to do anymore.

This might sound stupid, but I have been tapering down from methadone for about a month. I`ve gone from 40mg to 20mg in the past 2 weeks. Every day I go through bouts of itching,mostly when I go to bed. It`s like having chiggers or something. My arms, hands,feet,face itch and my head gets itching so bad I can`t get away from it until I take a Benadryl. I have to admit that taking 2 Benadryl before bed helps a LOT for the itching and even being able to sleep.

Hi andream5, my husband is finishing week 16 today, so he completed incivek about 4 weeks ago. I would say his side effects since finishing incivek include itching (no rash), fatigue, some weakness/shortness of breath, fatigue, dry mouth/metallic taste in mouth, and insomnia. I think that the symptoms he is experiencing right now (post incivek) are very similar/identical to the side effects he had with previous two treatments. For the itching, he takes Atavan.

t know much about Rebif but I have been on Copaxone for over a year. The side effects are redness, itching, stinging, swelling at the injection site. There isn't any problems with the liver that I know of. There are some reactions for some that include tightness of the chest, flushing. I chose Copaxone over the other DMD's due to the lack of side effects such as flu symptoms, liver function.. Good Luck in your decision!

When i met him(1990) he had already started to slow down(just weekends). I really need to know what are the most common side effects that everyone goes threw. Please i am scared. The hospital where he is being treated has classes for him & I so that we both can beaware of the whole situation. Is anyone familar with YALE Hospital. One of the best in the country.
