Hi I am currently 39 weeks pregnant on 11 mg of Methadone, since I am having my baby very soon I've been thinking of what is to come next with my Methadone treatment, I would like to be totally off of it, the drs would not let me get off of the Methadone because of the pregnancy and how harmful it can be to my child, which is most important. Just a little history I used 30 mg Oxycodone recreationally for about 3 yrs.
Half-life means the amount of time it takes for your body to process the amount of drugs you put into it by half.
Example. If you eat one 10mg oxycontin right now, the amount of time before there is only 5mg of oxycontin left in your blood is it's half-life. Some drugs are metabolized very efficiently by our liver, like oxycontin(4 hours).
How much - how often - how many habits - did you ever use Suboxone or Methadone recreationally or otherwise? This will give us a better idea of where your at. I was on heroin/Methadone for almost 30 yrs. So, I can tell you that it gets a lot harder down the line. Now is the time to make this stick. Do you have any support system? What are your plans to make this work other than the big physical step you've taken?
I never knew how many people used Tramadol recreationally until I found this site. I have been addicted to oxycontin for quite awhile. Got clean with suboxen-- no aftercare plan--- back on pills. Can't seem to stay off long. I was just hoping the ultram could ease the withdrawals.
I've been taking Methadone for two years.. I've weened down to 30mg/day and wondered if I could switch to 750 Vicodin for a few weeks. Would it work for the bad meth. w/d? I have been taking Oxy recreationally... max i ever did was 3 80mg/ in 24 hrs... i do it just for the high/fun of it ( i know, bad idea ) -- withdrawls are horrible, but i've learned to deal with it when i decide to stop taking it for a while, hell of a pain in the arse, i've withdrawn probably 10 times from it, quit for a few weeks/month or two..).
I was prescribed to methadone with my youngest daughter. She is now a very healthy, happy, and smart 2 year old. I took about 40mg a day the entire pregnancy and she didn't experience any withdrawal symptoms. However, I miscarried a couple of months before I got pregnant with her due to stopping my methadone. I was seeing an oncologist who prescribes the methadone and he had never had a pregnant patient before and wouldn't give me refill And the ob couldn't get me in soon enough.
I have been taking hydrocodone for over a year now and of course my tolerance is very high. I do use recreationally every day. I recently was given a 10 mg methdone. I have never taken it before so I broke it in half on Saturday and took only 5mg. I then continued my hydro use the next day, which is 60-80 mg at once. I took the other half of the methdone yesterday morning. My question is this: is it ok that I take my regular dose of hydro today without worry?
ve set myself back. I never ever take percocets or lortab recreationally. I never felt them. The only thing they did was make me a little more optimistic about my depressing situation. No it won't happen again because it was a coincidence. Just wondering if I'm going to start over?
Greetings from Nc. I started taking methadone a few months ago recreationally as well as a way to get threw my physical job with a re-built wrist. Long story short I am done with it. The worst of the withdrawals is over thank god!!! Took addys by day to get threw work, then a sleep aid at night...(helped slightly). It has been a week and I am ready to be done with all of it. Does anyone know of vitamins or foods etc that may help finish this Damn thing off?
I am a 27 yr old female. I have been recreationally doing pain pills for over 2 yrs but never had a serious problem. It made the day at work with the boss go by quicker. I had some serious family issues occur and I ended up going off the deep end and IV heroin. I did that for 6 months until I got evicted and ended up homeless. I couldn't handle the withdrawal so I went to a methadone clinic. The methadone drove me crazy I couldn't think or did I even feel like myself.
Just to fill you in I was very addicted to Oxycodone, I used it recreationally, snorting a couple 30 mg "blues" a few times a day until I started losing all ways of means which resulted in scraping money together to get 1 or 2 of them and barely getting by, sometimes being in withdraw for 2 days before I got something. I was using to get by, not to get high.
t talk to anyone because this stuff really embarrasses me! I take methadone off and on (recreationally)....I know I know. I shouldnt... I guess its been about two years. But I havent had any in about a week, close to it, and the constipation is horrible! Actually, it's the PAIN!!!! It feels like something SHARP is cutting me and today is the worst day it's ever been. I don't know what to do!
hi i have been off methadone for 98 days now, and i still feel like im stuck in a black hole i have no energy, motivation, im depressed and have anxiety. so what i want to know is, are there any one on this forum who has came off of methadone and can honestly say that they feel fine and their life is back to normal again, because im beginning to think i should of just stayed on it at least i had a better quality of life when i was on it.
He wanted me to get on a methadone program and from what I heard, methadone is wayyyy harded to get of then the actual pills. Anyways, I thought I could slowly reduce my usage my self. I switched obgyns and they don't know I'm using the pills. I'm taking about 8-10 pills daily. Usually 1.5-2 at a time. Is my baby going to withdrawl when he is born? Will they try and take him away? What is a safe amount to get down to before labor so that my baby won't be in pain.
This is quite a bit of money and I fear that I will end up quitting my methadone maintainence program and get back into using oxys and other opioids heavily. Does anyone out there think I can go back to using maybe once or twice a week but not get a full blown habit going again? I know this question may sound stupid, Im just wondering though because some people claim that after they get their addiction under controll they can use once in awhile and be ok.
Your dosage is not high at all and the level of pain killer you are taking is not very strong, so you definitely dont need suboxone and never ever should you use methadone. Many people here have taken the methadone route and almost everybody regrets it. It is a stronger narcotic than what you are taking so like worried said, it doesnt make sense to take a step up when trying to quit..
hi. I understand that you are trying to do better and move forward because I have been in your shoes. I know how much stress, money, time, etc. it takes to get pills and I know it hurts to w/d from them BUT...and I really hope you put some thought into this, methadone is NOT the answer... I am 39 days off of methadone, and let me tell you the cold-hard truth. Whatever withdrawal you will have from the pills that you think you can't live through is nothing in comparrison to methadone w/d.
s for like 2 months, was taking methadone before, that was pure hell getting off them....not sure which is worse right now!!!
It's been almost 4 years since i first steped into the methadone clinic. I can honestly say it's been the second biggest mistake i've ever made. Save for all the bull details and politics thats negatively polarized my opinion of MMT. I've been 100% drug free and walkin straight and narrow, resolved any issue that catalyzed my usage and learned some very useful tools along the way. Over the past 6 months i've tapered from 99mg down to 4mg.
re coming off of anything like methadone, hydros, benzos, anything like that. I went through a pretty bad methadone withdrawl once.... i was only taking 10 mgs a day, Thank God. I had my mom watch me for a week...I layed around doing nothing, sweating, crying, having severe chills, and just hoping that my life would come back. It did...but anyways, hope this helps, because I didnt really understand some of your message....
okay i took xanex recreationally 5 out of 6 days last week and now i am having severe anxiety attacks wich i never had before i went to the er and i didnt tell them i had been taking anything so they presribed me 10 xanex and i DO NOT WANT TO BE ON ANY MEDS i am a perfectly normal person but i am havin to take them because of the anxiety attacks i keep having i want to just not take them but they r just so bad what do i do is there something else thats a non narcotic i can take to get ooff ever
I take Klonapin for anxiety, and started taking Methadone recreationally one summer. They are NOT to be taken together. I don't understand why a doctor would perscribe them together....I was told in conjunction with eachother at a high dose can shut down your lungs in your sleep. 4mg is the most a Doctor would ever give me without knowing about my secret methadone use. Please get a second opinion!
