As everyone else has asked - How's she doing? There's an anti-dote to opiate overdose, including Methadone called Naltrexone. I hope they're keeping her in the hospital because Methadone overdose is tricky because of it's long half-life. They can bring you back in the ER - you walk out and you can go under again. So, if they have the tox. #'s - that's good - they can gauge where's she's at.
I recently just lost a good friend to an accidental overdose of methadone/xanax/klonopin, this person had been taking methadone for many years due to a major car accident. Just want to remind those out there that are mixing opiates and benzo's just how fine that line is between your high or dying. My buddy had just had twin boys 8 days before his OD, I feel so bad for his girlfriend and family.

Hi and welcome! Before you start the Methadone, I would highly recommend reading some of the posts on here of people detoxing from Methadone. It is a very long, drawn out, rough detox and is much worse than shorter acting opiates. If you are going to go the Methadone route, you should do it through a clinic. Methadone doesn't work like other opiates. It builds up in your body tissues and levels can be unpredictable. It's easy to overdose on. (Sorry if you already know all of this.
Thus, a patient may need a much higher dose for pain control, yet still overdose none the less.
So, I would recommend you to be very cautious, no matter how tolerant you may think you are. Please let me know if you would like to get clean one day. Resetting you system allows you to evaluate how much opiates you actually need and how much pain is cause by the development of hyperalgesia.
Guaifenesin, how much is an Overdose? My daughter 11 years old 100 lbs (big for her age), took (the correct dose) 5mL cough and cold medicine that had the following in that dose. Guaifenesin, USP 100 mg, Dextromethorpan HBr, USP 10 mL. Phenylephedrine HCI, USB 5mg. But then she also took (the correct dose) 10 mg of a prescription medicine Guaifenesin-Codeine syrup (generic for Robitussin AC syrup). It doesn't state on the label the quantity of Guaifenesin mg in the 5mL dose.
About the only thing I could advise is to go cold turkey if you want the fastest way, followed by aftercare. Some counseling and NA meetings are highly recommended. I don't know much about methadone and I guess depending on how much you are taking would determine how long the WD's would last. PLEASE do your best to stay off heroin!! I just attended my BFF's little brother's funeral last week, he died of a heroin overdose. That stuff is no joke!!
First you need to calm down and relax......this stuff isnt a fast or easy fix. Might help if there was a little more information. How many of what strength are you doing? Almost a year.....sounds to me like you are starting withdrawls when your mind races. Its actually a classic panic attack and is quite common when quiting a narc. Check out the health discussions at right side of page. Look up the Thomas recipe and Amino Acid Protocols...and read them. Then think about using them.
Hi and welcome to the forum....as for the vitadone it is a supplument and it can very well interfear on how your medaction works this one is best left to the doctor to go over you with what king of med are you taking for your anxiety>???? any way fill us in with how much and what your taking and how long you been on it as for the methadone just know there is life after it I was at 150mg for almost 7yrs did a slow taper over 8 1/2 months and kicked it it wasent pritty but it was doable.
most taper down slowly from long acting drugs like methadone and sub..i dont know ur past nor how long u have been stable at 10 mgs...but in reality that is not a big dose even tho people here cringe at the thought of meth wd...have seen many ct off of higher doses than that...but ur past does make a diff....if it were me, and i had been on it for any length of time...i would go down to 7.5 and get stable then to 5 then to 2.5...get stable and let it go....
If the patient ever passes out and can not be awakened, it might be a methadone overdose and patient needs the antidote. (I always wished I had a life alert alarm that would alert me if someone stopped breathing so I could quickly react and save them.)

7:30 am, I'm near Pittsburgh, PA. I was on methadone for 2 yrs to kick a bad herion habit and got off the methadone at the beginning of Dec. and started taking the trams to help with the methadone w/d's and get through the holiday. My boyfriend was on methadone too and quit that in August.
