I just jumped off methadone 3 days ago I was at 7mgs I was pretty much doin 3 days on 3days off before that this time I was just ready to try and stay off, my question is when should I expect to start feeling withdrawal symptoms right now I feel fine, Im wondering if tomorrow or day 5 it's just gonna hit me like a ton of bricks?

Thanks Weav. That is a consideration. I've had trouble weaning off oxy because I know I can get high on it. My understanding is methadone has such a slow onset that you can't get high on it. I have to do something, I can't continue what I'm doing now. I just feel like I could think things over and get a plan together if I had a week or two when I wasn't consumed by this habit. Maybe it is a bad idea. Maybe I'll just keep at it till I come up with a better plan.

I have been tapering for the last three months on methadone, yesterday I went down to 15 mg per day, today I skipped my dose and picked up for 8 mg Suboxone strips I took my first one today just a few minutes ago I will keep everyone posted on if I go into precip or not I am finally fed up with the methadone and 4 strips should taper me I pray wish me luck and God bless

Klonopin is a benzo...it does not have avery powerful onset like xanax but is just as strong as xanax...i was told that valium is a better choice for detox as far as addiction to the benzo goes...sounded odd as valium got such a bad reputation when it came out but it was one of the first to really hit the markdet and be prescribed alot....i researched it and found that it is true...valium is safer than the two mentioned above..all should be used with caution...i used it during detox and ..

I have been clean from methadone for 6 weeks now. I tapered off very quickly. I was at a steady dose of 120mg/day and was on it for 3 and 1/2 years. I went from 120mg/day to 60mg/day for 7 days and then went down 15mg/week for 4 weeks. So I went from 120mg/day to 0mg/day in 5 weeks. The magority of my withdrawal symptoms were gone or barely noticable after 14 days. Depression was longer lasting about 30 days.

And the way it was worded, ( fine print)pretty much had me thinking that some, if not all of the subjects were still on methadone, or other meds, perhaps weaning, but basically, it was not a good study. Also, the instructions call for serious weaning. If you wean, you're going to usually feel less intense withdrawls. I think it could have a placebo affect though.. That's Puridone. Some here have tried wd ease, maybe they will chime in, but you can buy it all at health food stores.

Both of these drugs will be a challenge to detox from. The methadone withdrawals are intense and long lasting. In my experience with methadone, the worst symptoms of withdrawal began approximately 36 hours after my last dose and began to subside in about 14 days- with the symptoms 'peaking (being at their worst)' from day 7 through day 10.

I only go one day without it and I get depressed, feel anxious and lethargic. Is there not an easier way? I know this sounds stupid, but what about methadone for a few days? I have been on it for 10months for pain management and currently using 3mg.

I'm using klonopin to help me sleep while coming off methadone and narco. In the past when I've taken it, it doesn't do much for me. I'm not an anxious person. I'm worried I will have more withdrawals from that if I ever make it through what I'm going through now. How much can a person take? I have gastroparesis, and GERD, and am on methadone maintenance. I noticed I started having problems as soon as I started the Methadone Clinic, 3 yrs ago. I recently had an endoscopy and waiting on the biopsy results. I'm so sick of not being able to eat anything. I'm living off of oatmeal and can't over eat. But it's not over eating because I've been starving. I can only eat a small bowl of oatmeal before I take my methadone and then another small one for lunch.

to all that do not know me-- I have been in a methadone treatment facility now for 6 months 2 weeks 4 days for my severe addiction to pain meds on & off over half my life.. I began my Detox phase on October 11th...My dose of 30mg was at 7 a.m. and I did GREAT on that milligram.... I agree with everyone I will never take methadone .It is hell to come off of it can take weeks to months to WD off of . I would do LOTS and LOTS of research if I were you .

I think this is interesting but the only part of this that is relevant to someone getting off dope is that drugs with a long half life - like suboxone and methadone - take longer to get off your receptors and because of that are associated with longer more severe withdrawals. I don't know the exact half life of morphine but it is relatively short compared to the others I mentioned. I know this is more of an answer than you bargained for but c'mon, you learned something right?

When i went through my rehab, the doctor suggested i went on methadone, and i researched and decided to not do it precisely for the above stated reasons. I knew that i was only asking for another withdrawal situation so i just got the withdrawal from the cocaine, heroin, alcohol etc.

Did I get a flu virus or are these consistent with initial onset of genital herpes. As soon as I finished having sex with the girl I went straight to the bathroom and washed with soap and water. And it was a very short duration of actual intercourse. do either of these factors reduce the likelihood that I contracted genital herpes.I say girl, rather I should say woman.
