can u mix methadone and suboxum at the same time with lower dose to help from withdrawls

i took subutex my entire pregnancy so when my daughter was born they put her on methadone. its been 8 days since her last dose. they tapered her from .5ml to .1 ml. she has been having diareah a week but she also has a cold. could she be suffering withdrawals or is it related to the cold?

I too don't have any experience with methadone but one thing we all have in common is addiction. There's a member on here by the name of "gnarly1" and he is the forum expert when it comes to methadone. He is normally online later in the evening. I'm guessing he will say to taper off slowly. I've heard that withdrawals from methadone are some of the toughest withdrawals out there but hopefully since you haven't been on it all that long it won't be quite as bad.

hi,i was taking opium for 7 months after that my gp put me to methadone programe ,it has been 6 years ,evry year i try to stop it but it dosnot work, i have been to detox center twice and they were ok but as soon as i came out of detox center started using again,i am addicted to methadone even when i bring it down to 20 or less i start panicing ,i dont drink or smok and never tried any other drugs ,can anybody tell me what to do,thanks

For 5 years I have been off and on Pain Pills, any kind I can find. This time I trying to stop forever. I took 2.5MG of Methadone to help curb withdrawals and tomm I will take the only Tramadol I own. I am hoping that after only 1 1/2 month of abuse my WD's will not last as long. It has been 48 hours since I last took an Oxy Codone. Since then I took 5 mg of methadone and then 2.5 today.

Many people taper off methadone milligram by milligram over several months, while others prefer to just get it over with & jump off at higher doses, either way ya do it, theirs no avoiding the symtoms of withdrawals, not with methadone. I titrated from 90mgs down to 2mgs, by tapering 2mgs per week, this took almost a year & I never noticed much difference untill I got under 10mgs, this was when it got a bit tough, but I kept going untill I hit 2mgs this is when I stopped.

My hubby's been on the methadone programme for the last two years. He was originally taking Fluoxetine (Prozac) But they changed him to Citalopram about 6 months ago. No worries taking it while on methadone.

If you are still worried, I would look up the half life of 30 mg of methadone. To my knowledge Methadone is stronger longer acting than Oxycodone. Since you were not on it long that is the way I would decide.

I use to take 40 mg of oxys in morning and 40mg of oxys at night it started 7 years ago after surgery, at the time I never knew how addictive they were or I would of never started. I also feel the same now after reshearching methadone online some people describe it as a ball and chain (scarry) I dont want to have a worse addiction then now.

I don't have any personal experience with methadone but from what I've read online, loss of sex drive is pretty common with that drug. Is counseling an option? Would you be willing to see someone who specializes in addiction and family therapy? This is what my husband and I did and it helped us a lot. Good luck.

ive been on methadone,xanax since 2004...methadone is for sevre cronic pain from pain mangement..the xanax started with gpdoc now with pdoc..its for sevre panic...was on klonpin 11 yrs prior to xanax.. but just methadone and xanax since 04...i know about the mix or my combo vey well on very low doses of each..the xanax 0.5 5aday..methadone 10 mgs aday..was at 1 time 160 mgs i detoxed at home 2 yrs ago..got away from it 45 days then back at the dose im at..now the questshion??

I am not allowed to say that I take methadone for pain relief. I can only say that pain relief is a side effect of methadone. Well this is fine and dandy until I started to travel for work. Clinic rules are strict and impossible to follow. Today I have had 3 doctors offer to take over my care, but none of them are legally allowed to prescribe me methadone.

I have started taking Methadone on occasion. This morning I took a 10mg Methadone and this evening I took 3 10mg Hydrocodones. I am experiencing a ton of breathing problems now. Does anybody know if this is a bad mix. I was taking 10-15 10mg vicodin a day. I know it has to be tearing up my liver. Does anyone else have a problem like this?

I spent 6 1/2 yrs on methadone you havent been on it that long to really start to see the side effect it has....methadone dosent get you ''high'' persay but it does leave you in a quite fog that you dont relize wile your on it...thats what your family is seeing....once you go off it you will notice what im talking about....now if it means your going to go back to oxy then by all means stay on it...

Hi there guys..............well I have been on methadone for about 16months and been tapering since may 2009. I got myself down to 3mls and decided to say screw it and go cold turkey for the rest. Today marks day one for me however I just found out minutes ago that I am pregnant. I'm not sure if I should just ride it out or go back to my doc and taper the rest as i was. Is there a risk of miscarriage if I do stick it out cold turkey?

Why are you taking such a high dosage of methadone? my suggestion is to take as little methadone as possible and wean yourself off. I have always been told that doses over 10mgs don't do anything more than 10 mgs does and that it gets harder as you get lower than 10 mgs. I have no medical knowledge but I have done more research on this than I would like to admit! Go online and research this. It helps to see it for yourself. You can do this!
