1264367 tn?1408104163 I have gastroparesis, and GERD, and am on methadone maintenance. I noticed I started having problems as soon as I started the Methadone Clinic, 3 yrs ago. I recently had an endoscopy and waiting on the biopsy results. I'm so sick of not being able to eat anything. I'm living off of oatmeal and can't over eat. But it's not over eating because I've been starving. I can only eat a small bowl of oatmeal before I take my methadone and then another small one for lunch.
1553907 tn?1367609586 Yes I saw that on your home page. What if you go back to the same doctor and tell him that the treatment made you a lot worse? Would he listen to you? What about going to the states for a second opinion? Is it too costly? My husbands mother is from Edmonton but has lived here in California since 1952. But his aunt still lives there her husband had chronic lympocytic leukemia and was also Canadian and he thought he had gone out of remission but they wouldn't let him have an MRI.
Avatar m tn I do have Leukemia. Mine is CML, and it does not go away and come back. With my type of Leukemia the white count would continue to rise at each blood test without any type of treatment. Just keep getting your blood tested to see how your blood counts are. There are other things that can cause some of your problems. You mentioned a High Calcium, and that could be a indication of a Parathyroid Problem. Ask your doctor to run a PTH test to check those numbers.
Avatar n tn Is leukemia a possibility if I've been having chronic wrist pain since mid-January 2008. I went to the dr., he did an xray and said nothing appeared. I had a CBC w/differential done Dec 31 2007 and everything turned up normal. I know bone/joint pain is a symptom of leukemia, would this be more systematic or could it be a localized area? I also came down with a cold a few days ago, constant coughing, mucous but no fever, please any insights?
Avatar m tn I have not heard of a link between HIV and Leukemia, however I know there is a link between HIV and Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma (a cousin to Leukemia). According to the National Cancer Institute, HIV can also be associated with Hodgkin disease and cancers of the lung, mouth, cervix, and digestive system.
Avatar n tn And of course I will worry anyway, so I am just wondering if anyone else have had this problem and wether I should worry about it being leukemia?
Avatar f tn They can lead to specific types of anemia but not leukemia. If a patient already has leukemia, then red blood cell production and utilization of these elements becomes impaired, and can lead to anemia. Your symptoms may be indicative of both conditions (lymphoma or leukemia). Other possibilities would include chronic infections such as tuberculosis. I hope that the PET scan can be done soon and tell us useful information.
Avatar n tn How many test are required to have a positive diagnosis of Leukemia, and how fast will it be diagnosed ?
Avatar n tn So, my father called me and told me that his dr said that he had a "little" leukemia but he's fine. Is this possible? He told me that people can have a little leukema their whole life and be fine. I have never heard this before and I thinking that he just wants to protect me from the truth.
695601 tn?1310909219 When she told me this, i was highly fusterated, because their is obviously something wrong. 99.5% Leukemia has to be it. Now i am into the whole medical field, and i watch all those medical shows. While watching them, i learned to think outside of the box. Now this is just a guess, and it would mean a lot if someone actually would answear. I do know that if she did have Leukemia, it would of probably shown up in her blood test, and them conformed in her bone marrow test.
Avatar m tn well the symptoms you describe are typically related to leukemia or lymphoma but you should have a biopsy to be sure
Avatar m tn Everything I read on line seems to indicate Leukemia? For those with experience, are these the kind of levels you see. I have literally no symptoms other than I get hot quickly & will sweat profusely when this happens. Any help is MUCH appreciated.
Avatar f tn Recently I have been having a lot of discomfort in my stomach as well as being tired all of the time. I know these are all symptoms of Leukemia and I can't help but freak myself out over this. Can anyone give me some advice on what the likelihood is that I actually do have it? By the way there is no family history of Leukemia in my family.
Avatar n tn old, the pain started about 3 months after I had my son. The only medication I am still on is methadone, we don't have insurance to afford the others and they weren't working that well anyway. The methadone is not helping all that well anymore, either. It was the only painkiller that worked after trying several different ones. I can't keep going on like this, but I feel like having more tests is a waste of money. Does anyone have any ideas or similar experiences?
Avatar n tn [both drugs are calcineurin inhibitors] * omeprazole (Losec, Prilosec) * oxycodone (Oxycodone is metabolized by the cytochrome P450 system, specifically CYP3A4, of which the bergamottin flavonoid is a strong inhibitor) * hydrocodone (The hepatic cytochrome P450 enzyme CYP2D6 converts it into hydromorphone, a more potent opioid.) * dihydrocodeine * quetiapine (Seroquel, Ketipinor) * methadone -- Inhibits the metabolism of methadone and raises serum levels.
454592 tn?1229564039 You do seem to have a problem, but what makes you pick Leukemia as a possible reason for your problems. Does Leukemia run in your family, or is someone telling you that it could be Leukemia. Did you see a doctor, and let him run some blood work on you. Routine blood work is the most common way that they find Leukemia. If your white count is high, they will do other testing to check it out. It could be as simple as your nerves or something like that.
Avatar m tn I was told a year ago I had low platelets and I'm just now going back 2 days from now. I'm worried about Leukemia. I've heard from various sources the prognosis for untreated acute leukemia is 3-6 months. Is it possible I could've survived without any treatment for 12-15 months? Please limit your answers to involve acute leukemia. I'm aware chronic leukemia could still be a possibility.
Avatar m tn No need to worry, Matthew. The WBC is only slightly high, that's still from the infection. In leukemia, it gets much much higher.
Avatar f tn Hi, I know this is an old thread but I have a question about my blood work. You seem to know a lot about this so I'm hoping you can help me. I actually have a WBC count on the lower side but a huge percentage, double the normal, of these WBC's are lymphocytes. Do you know if that could be leukemia or does leukemia always present with high WBC count in conjunction with differential abnormalities? I have most of the symptoms of leukemia with the exception of fever.
623944 tn?1244035490 I do not know exactly what type of information you want, but I have Leukemia. There are different types. I have Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia which is usally referred to as CML. I was diagnosed in 1998, and after treatment that became toxic to my liver I had to wait until I could get into a clinical trial for a new drug. I am now a 10 year survivor and in remission for over 7 years. Leukemia is not a death sentence anymore.
