Three months later I had to have another emergency surgery for my right kidney because I had a stone that was obstructing my kidney. I'm only 23 years old and where I'm so young my doctor was worried about the significant damage to my kidneys he seen when doing the emergency surgeries and the fact that he cleaned out my kidney and within a week I would have 3-5 stones developing again,so he decided to send me to Duke University Hospital in NC and I live in KY.

I'm tapering off methadone, I'm done to 10mg, but now I'm having kidney pain. I've drank water for 2 days, thinking maybe I was getting a kidney infection, but it's not helping. It's not my back hurting its on both sides! I've come down from 45mg to 10mg in the last 10 days and I have 1 1/2 pills left. Tomorrow will be 10mg, the next 5mg, I'm doing it the best I can, but I dont understand the kidney pain.

From the posts I read it seems that many were taking above the max dose 4000 mg of acetaminfen daily. Irreversable liver/kidney damage has always been a big concern to me which is why I never exceed the 4000 mg a day. I just had blood drawn yesterday & will nervously await the results. If they tell me my enzymes are higher it will be easier to quit. I think. Have any of you had any damage to liver/kidney damage as a result of your vicodin use?

As you already know, I was on 90mgs of methadone for many years & I always worried about methadone causing health problems, lucky for me, it never did. You may want voice your concern to your doctor? Or you can do some research on your own?

Hi Zero My sis (59 now) was a drug user and clean now for 21 years. On methadone now but her kidneys had failed twice years ago. She is in 3-4 renal failure. No dialysis. No help from docs. I know from my own kidney disease (CKD) and my siblings and mother kidney problems that we have PKD. It’s genetic from one parent which means it starts later in in life (30+yrs or older). If both parents carry the gene then problems start in early childhood.

I recently ****** up like an idiot and after a kidney infection was prescribed methadone 5mgs pills. I took about 40 mg a day for about 2 wks. Anyhow before that I had been on subutex maitnence and was doing great. Well a couple days ago I took my subutex a day after the meth was gone and went into precipitated w/d so bad. My doc being cool put my on oxycodone for about a week and a half to try and knock back the w/d symptoms.

I just got bloodwork back saying my EFGR is 50 Has always been >60 I am embarrassed to say I don't even know if the old one was normal or not, no md ever said I had a kidney issue, I just finished 12 weeks of treatment and am undetected but now I am freaked out by these kidney numera I wrote my md but have not heard back yet Doesn't anyone know or understnad this, I am having trouble understanding what I read from google searches Thanks CH

The only way to truly ease your mind is by being totally honest with him/her. I have liver damage and kidney damage due to drugs stage 2 liver stage 3 kidney.. if your liver were damaged and you had a flare your belly would be extended/pain upper right you would be lethargic/vomiting.. other symptoms but these being severe.. It is not fun and I would not wish it on anyone.. I contracted hep C from slamming and further continued the damage through pills/alcohol..

anyone who done cold turkey, is it normal for chest pains, back (id say my kidney or liver) isnt hurting as much as yesterday. i just want to make sure im not gonna die or something. been feeling quite unusual lately! is this all normal?

I was wondering if anyone knows if you can take cymbalta on Methadone Maintenance? Any help would be appreciated! Also having a strong smell in urine. Wondering about kidney problems with hep c?

See your gynecologist again or go to your regular physician where s/he will probably direct you to someone who specializes in things like nerve damage. Definitely do something about the kidney infection. Are you getting treated for it? If not, start getting treated for it immediately.

Very unusual but it has been like this since I stopped taking them last week. How long till the kidney pain eases up. It's uncomfortable, but tolerable.

Hi all. One of my best friends has been taking heavy painkillers to manage pain due to disk surgery and partial replacement. They have been switching between things as heavy as morphine and methadone. They found her thanksgiving day not breathing with foam coming out of her mouth and nose. She was in respiratory arrest and flown to a better hospital in the neighboring state.

I have started taking Methadone on occasion. This morning I took a 10mg Methadone and this evening I took 3 10mg Hydrocodones. I am experiencing a ton of breathing problems now. Does anybody know if this is a bad mix. I was taking 10-15 10mg vicodin a day. I know it has to be tearing up my liver. Does anyone else have a problem like this?

While i may have bloating, tummy pains and rumbling of gas moving in my intestines etc, i have also been diagnosed with high protein in the urine, doctors say is caused by damage to the kidney, letting more albumin out than usual. They attribute this damage to the high blood pressure i am suffering. My question is: could the increased gas pressure from aerophagia enter the kidney and cause this physical internal damage, and/or augment the increased BP.

I have hep C and one kidney. They will not give me a kidney transplant because of the Hep C will destroy the new one, they also will not treat the Hep C because the cure is so rough on the kidney they do not want to destroy it. Your Mom dose sound like she is abusing thou, Maybe if you approached it by talking to your Mom about how much she has changed and how much you need her to be herself without the loratabs.

The doc said that she makes the decision of whether or not he is good candidate My question is many people at methadone clinics have hep c and continue their methadone treatment saying that it helps. Is this proven medical fact?? Will dr write for meds like methadone to help a patient going through hepatitis C treatment or is this for the Methadone clinics only that you go to and pay?
