5954444 tn?1377473390 Hello I was a heroine user for 3 years I'm now in remission and Been on a methadone programs since. November 2013 I started at 60ML I'm now at 28ML I should have started a lofexidine home detox at 30ML but I'm now doing it on 9th Sept I'll be at 26ML. I'd really like some info on what I should expect when I start my detox I've obviously rattled off gear in the past but am I going to have a similar experiences from methadone.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone knew how many liquid milliliters of methadone are in a 10 mg methadone pill and if methadone comes in anything stronger than 10 mg in pill form
Avatar f tn But my question is he takes plavix, aspirin, lisinopril, Zocor, Zoloft, Coreg, lithium, and methadone. I took him off the lithium thinking that was the cause because after doing research sleeping all the time was something major with that drug. I was also thinking that it could be the Coreg because they up the dose last time he saw the doctor but that has had time to get in his system and not be the problem.
Avatar f tn t take watching him destroy everything in his path anymore. Zanax and methadone are his drugs of choice right now. Where can I go in TN for help for him? What can I do? He has 3 wonderful small children who are in danger.
Avatar f tn In my opinion, sub should be used for three weeks only... not the maintenance drug that methadone is ..... but it has its place in therapy. You always need to speak with your doc - but surpisingly many of them arent fully informed..... I was in your league as far as consumption of pills goes and I tried methadone - just another drug to detox from as far as I am concerned. When I knew it was time to quit, I did it cold turkey and was quite surprised that methadone acted like that.
Avatar f tn Are you saying you are considering getting on Methadone to get off of Suboxone?? Using Methadone for almost any addiction, except possibly Heroin, is really jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire. Methadone has a place for very hard core Heroin addicts but almost every other drugs can be stopped with far less drastic measures. Check out Sadinmichigan journal and see what others have gone through when trying to come off of Methadone. Wishing you all the best.
Avatar f tn You can't get off of opiates by taking methadone. Methadone is an opiate..along with Suboxone (although a chemically different type of opiate). What is your drug history? What are you taking now and at what doses? Why do you think methadone is the best choice for you right now?
Avatar n tn your information about methadone being worse than heroin during pregnancy is incorrect. Go the the NIH website and you will see that this is in fact a myth that unfortuantely, too many women/families buy into and it ends up being a justification to use opiates like heroin. I work at a MMT clinic (methadone maintenance) and we have had pregnant women on methadone who have delivered perfectly healthy babies.
224049 tn?1204591115 I am being told I can have methadone as long as I am under 30 miligrams with no time off before starting subutex. I read different things and different places. Anyone know what the truth is??
Avatar n tn re buzz with 30mg of Methadone. I have a lot of knowledge and take pride in the wealth of information I retain about Methadone and MMT, I strongly encourage anyone that wants more information about MMT you're more than welcome to contact me through Facebook, Angi Gay in Fairmont NC!
Avatar n tn its been day 5 of mild methadone withdrawl and i want to take suboxen, will it work.
Avatar n tn just read some new information on web that there is wide growing concern that patients on long term perscribed methadone are commonly reporting or have experianced, heart Arrhythmia, heart attack, severe valve damage, and cardio -toxicity, so it seems there may be some debate on that one.
Avatar f tn So we really need some more information from you. There are 2 members on this forum that are very well versed in methadone detox and I am sure they will be by and see your post and respond to it, those people are Weaver and Gnarly, I will leave the rest up to them. I am open to questions should you decide to do a taper, we are not allowed to give tapering advice on this forum but you can PM me and I will tell you what I have done to be successful up until now.

Avatar m tn Please provide some information what is your dose? how long have you been on methadone? and your age.
1266511 tn?1270173617 I have been taking oxycodone for about a year and then started taking small amounts of Methadone to come off it, but I have been taking small amounts of methadone (about 30mg a day) for about 6 months now seeing as it was reall helping with my chronic back pain I have. The problem now is we just found out I am pregnant and I stopped taking them as soon as I found out (2 days ago) but am having horrible withdrawl and was wondering if there was anything I can do to help this?
Avatar n tn Why Methadone? Have you tried other opiates? After 25 years of constant pain and 4 dependencies on opiates (hydrocodone twice, oxycontin, mathadone) I am taking nothing and like it better. Yes my pain is there but it was with meds also, and I'm not addicted to anything. Methadone is the hardest opiate to stop, other meds take 4 to 5 days to withdrawl, methadone takes 4 to 5 weeks to withdrawl. I'm speaking about withdrawl because it is a major factor when choosing a medication for pain.
Avatar f tn ITS SATURDAY 3:27 I HAVENT TAKEN METHADONE SINCE TUESDAY AROUND 3 PM, IM IN MODERATE WITHDRAW I WAS AT 30 MGS, CAN I TAKE SUBUTEX?
13440552 tn?1430167497 Thank you for your response, when I called into the local methadone clinic I was told that suboxone was not an option. its methadone or nothing. From what I have gathered they are close to the same thing? Some differences, but I was really hoping for sub instead. Along with the guilt I already feel, in a way the reason I haven't fully made up my mind about going to the clinic is because in some ways I feel like im just taking a 'cop out'.
Avatar f tn Talk to your doctor about your concerns they should be able to provide you with resources. You can also search for a help group and they should be able to provide you with information as well.
Avatar n tn Stated in there you will see that we do not give out tapering information or dosing information. There are no doctors here and since we don't have any way of knowing your medical background, it is dangerous to provide that information on the internet. Again, I wish you the best and hope that you can get and stay clean. Stick around and members will give you moral support through this and also suggest some natural supplements that you may want to consider to help ease the process.
Avatar m tn If anyone could give me there experiences on switching from Methadone to Suboxinhow long did withdrawals last, how was the experience on Sub for the first few days, or weeks.
Avatar n tn My wife needs to find a new cronic pain doctor who prescribes methadone since she has been taken for the last 3 years and Sound Family Medicine abrutly cut her off 5 days ago
Avatar n tn I have over a year from a 12yr methadone ride..Methadone is very synthetic and so are Trams. They are the worse drugs, from my opinion, to come off of. Here is little on Trams. Trams is a weak u-opioid receptor agonist. It is a serotonin releaser and a reuptake inhibitor of norepinephrine..It is a SNRI..also. There fore it is like taking 2 meds in one. I am not sure I really understand..Why or What!
Avatar f tn There is lots of good information. Check out the Thomas Recipe, the link is at the bottom of this page, for some good information on things you can do and take which will help with withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar n tn One of the participiants injects his methadone, a several year long habit which he find very difficult to quit. In realation to a forthcoming treatment for hepatitis C, we want to know if this injection habit have any influence on the treatment or if it is, in any way, a risc for his general health. This discussion is related to Hepatitis C Your liver and Methadone.
