Well, I ended up waiting it out through a very restless night and so I had by this morning gone 50 hours without methadone. I was so scared to risk precipitated withdrawals from dosing with subutex too early. At 7am I took 1mg only and although it relieved my aching legs I still didn't feel very well so 3 hours later I had another 1mg and feel just fine now.
ve been studying and investigating Sub since I got on it 3 yrs ago and there are more and more people having problems with it, and it seems that every Sub doc has his/her own dosing guidelines instead of following the guidelines that have been set for them thru SAMSHA.
I would also highly suggest a support group. That has saved my butt! I hope the best for you in your detox. I hope you remain clean one day at a time for a life time!
I am now on methadone for chronic lumbar pain. I was on 30mg of controlled release morphine 3X a day.
The methadone didn't do too much to thwart off the morphine withdrawal. I still had 10 days of cold sweats, nauseous (gag control on high alert!) restlessness, cramps etc. The VA is so freaked out when it comes to prescribing methadone. They only had me take 7.
ve been on methadone through a treatment facility and there are lots of women that are on methadone as well that just had babies recently and a girl that I have seen that is pregnant now many months into her pregnancy and she is still dosing methadone. So safely you can do it under a Drs care of course. Good luck..
If, as you say, your dose varies between 30-60 mgs, you may qualify for suboxone treatment where the maximum methadone dosing threshold for a smooth (relative) transition is 30 mgs. Suboxone has far more advantages than methadone clinics which are often punitive and demanding with regards to daily dosing, regular UA's and mandated therapy. The one problem with suboxone maybe the lack of comparable analgesia you are currently receiving from the methadone.

Thanks For your comment i think your probably right i was just curious that place said they use blind dosing meaning you dont know what they are giving only that its not m-done or sub its some short acting mystery drug i dont like somthing not bknowing what it is and ive done the methadone detox b fore and even though i can throw down some percs methadone was a whole new thing i did not tolerate it well at all even whith doses equvelent to what im on now BUt thanks for you comment
Thank u 4 ur comments, my Friend is extremely desperate to get clean, and has bn thru this transition many moons ago, and was on methadone b4 doin the transition, 45 mls I might add, under docs orders, I do know Subutex is extremely strong, and it has a bad name re detox because of its long half life, and from reading many, many comments on here, alot of people have said that they havn't needed the dosage what the Doc has prescribed, I am aware that I would never take comments as gospel, bef
) for dosing guidelines, but be sure to check with a licensed physician. Also check ilads (dot) com for Dr Burrascano's treatment guidelines. There may be useful information there. Also did you try searching something like "lyme disease iv rocephin dose"? Checking with an MD is important before proceeding with any such treatment. No one here is medically trained to my knowledge.

As Nursegirl pointed out, Methadone is the maintenance drug of choice for expectant mothers. What you're experiencing is pretty common. The baby is 'consuming' part of your dose. So, that's where the discomfort is coming from. It makes total sense (& is standard in these cases) that your clinic doesn't want to raise you (130mgs is a high enough dose) but would prefer to try split dosing.
I have been on Methadone for 6 years now. I got serious about getting off all drugs in Dec of 2005, besdies Methadone. I then decied to detox from that starting in late 2007. I have gone from 100mg down to 5mg, back to 10mg for two months and then slowly down to 5mg again. I have been feeling just fine and then the disaster of all disasters happened. I went to get my 6 take homes for the week, ALMOST done with methadone forever.

hi, my husband is on 60mg of methadone (pill form) a day for chronic back pain. He's been on this regimen for 4 years now. If he runs out of his pills before he gets the new script how long will the last dose of methadone stay in his system and how quickly will the "dt's" start? I am asking because the doc had to resched his appt and he might run short and want to be prepared.

t want to be dependent on another drug when im done with the methadone. I was planning on dosing to 3mg then 2mg then 1mg being on each for 4 weeks. I am wondering what to expect from here and how I will feel when im actually down to 0mg. How long will it take to feel normal? Will the neurotin be enough to sustain the withdrawal?
