We no longer sleep in the same room due to marriage issues stemming from the drug use, but when I go into his room I notice that he is smoking in there and his pillows and blankets and even remote control is burned and has holes in the blankets and pillows from the burns. I ask him about it and he brushes it off. I have asked him not to smoke in the house as we do have two children and my mother just passed away from lung cancer but he continues.

My girlfriend has been coming down on methadone and is now at 65mg. She has been fine for a long time while taking methadone but just recently she started to pass out EVERYWHERE at night time yet wont come to bed. we talk about it but she cant help it. why the sudden change.... i thought going down was better not worse.
Hi well for me I use to node out at the most inaprperet times I was on 150mg though......I would lower your dose... many of us have come off of methadone and it is a tuff detox but methadone maintenance ***** the life out of you ...your best bet is to come off it all together and we can help you with that............
Yes -- definitely. It's the nodding off that seems worrisome, and he needs his vital signs taken.
Last night I came downstairs to get laundry and he was leaning on the hallway wall. When I tried to get his attention, it was very hard and had to shake him, he then shuffled off to his room and shut the door. It's crazy because at other times he comes upstairs, very loud and excitable for no apparent reason. I am very worried as I have young kids and am concerned about explaining the behavior to them and also worried about my brother's health....Please help!

My son came to me 3 days ago confessed he has been using heroin and needed help. I have tried to stay by his side to make sure he doesn't use but he is 26 and has his own place I got him vitamins made him take baths and fires fed him peanut butter sandwiches to get him thru the withdrawal it's is 4 day now and I noticed he was nodding off while reading a book.

We have had our niece for almost 4 months and he has been super clean bc we want to get custody of her. He gets take homes on sunday and sometimes he will get up and wait to take the methadone and he is not sleepy but as soon as he takes it he slows down and starts falling asleep. He is on 130 mg. He has been on it for over a year now. But for once I can actually say he is clean other than that.
if he has mixed methadone with klonopin, he will be very drowsy, nodding off, eyes closing while talking, slurred speech, slow moving...he may seem fine while he is up and moving around, but when he sits to relax is when you will notice it the most...but if he is on a high dose of methadone, that alone MAY do this also...
but mixing methadone and benzodiazapines is extremely dangerous...i lost a close friend in december from this combination of drugs..

I will start by saying he is on methadone. Since we met and started dating he claims it is pain management for his back. Its always in te back of my mind, what if, because he nods off and I read a lot that methadone doesn't make you do that! He is a great guy, who has never come off as being untruthful, and we share a daughter together.
Too much methadone... too much!!!! People walk on there thinking things that just aren't so about methadone. It is an extremely powerful opiate, and often much more powerful and addictive than the drugs people are on when they walk int. I would NEVER recommend going to methadone, but he's there now.
She has gained alot of weight in a few months, always tired, nodding off, confused ie. we ordered dinner at a restaurant and 5 mins later she asked were we ever going to order. Defensive, rude when confronted, denies any drug usage.

I am on my 17th day off of methadone, and let me tell you it is a miracle that I'm alive. Those clinics may seem like a God send... But let me tell you, they are not. I know you think your husband is doing "good" on the methadone, but the moment he tries to get off that crap or the clinic has an issue with him, he will do anything to get rid of the w/ds, which in my opinion are way worse than ANY other w/d out there.
Hi Gnarly, I see that you are very supportive, so there for. I wanted to ask you, were you on methadone? Well I've been on methadone for almost 5 years now and been tapering off for about 1 1/2 year now from 90 mg I'm all the way down to 4 mg, by far I feel pretty good.
I went in at 128 and over the years of being incredibly sedate and sleepy, eating tons of sweets craving everyone, and not really participating in anything but nodding, I got up to 248! I began decreasing my dose and with diet and exercise, I am now down to about 140. I did get a little overboard with the working out and got down to 128, but that was too skinny, so I had to keep that in check.

HI well it all boils down to how much discomfort you can tolerate the clinic will have guidelines that keeps them from getting sued they would rather error on the side of to little then to much with methadone the slower the better but let it be know we have had members jump off as high as 110mg and make it I did a slow taper off a 7yr habit at 150mg it took me 8 1/2 months and I was uncomfortable a lot of the time your lucky you have not been on it that long you just might want to try just jump
