I have started taking Methadone on occasion. This morning I took a 10mg Methadone and this evening I took 3 10mg Hydrocodones. I am experiencing a ton of breathing problems now. Does anybody know if this is a bad mix. I was taking 10-15 10mg vicodin a day. I know it has to be tearing up my liver. Does anyone else have a problem like this?
btw, hydrocodone does not contain acetaminophen. Medications like Vicodin and Norco contain both hydrocodone and acetaminophen, but hydrocodone is itself a semi-synthetic opioid, similar to oxycodone.
I had been on Hydrocodone for about 4 years and my new Dr felt Methadone would help. Day one they gave me 30mg. I could not function and I was very sick, vomiting, etc. I told them that was too high that I wanted no more than 10-15 mg per day. I was a little shocked at their encouraging people to take high doses and increase 5 mg per day. My blood pressure has dropped and I'm not going back and my Question is this. Am I addicted to Methadone at 10-15 mg per day for 7 days?
so wouldnt it be better to take the hydrocodone for ab 2 weeks low doses so he can go through the hydrocodone withdrawal and not the methadone? what if he takes a 5mg hydrocodone would that start the withdrawal process over?
I am right now off methadone and hydrocodone as I have taken both off and on the past 8 years... I tapered from 15mg of methadone quickly to 5mg then 2 days later stopped taking any methadone and have not taken hydrocodone for month...methadone for 6 days... And I'm having mood swings and stress off and on serious bipolar feelings. Plan is no more period but my wife keeps telling me to go back to clinic....
it is definitely not deadly as I have been doing it for 10 years or so, taking methadone, hydrocodone, and even percocet. As far as it being a good idea or not, I am not saying, just that it should not be deadly if that is your question.
00 pm (96 hours ago) Friday night I tossed and turned and was sweating (sooo annoying) by Saturday I got 30mg of methadone (havent took methadone in about a year) I didn't take it all at once. Instead I took 10mg Saturday, 10mg Sunday, and 10mg Monday (today). I have NO MORE METHADONE & I'm NOT getting any. I thought maybe it would help & it wouldn't prolong the withdrawals but now I've read that it could???? Don't know what to think.
Ok...I recently got off methadone after a 21 day detox from a 120 mg a day hydrocodone addiction.. coming off the methadone was awful!! Way worse than coming off the pilz cold turkey. I made it exactly 14 off methadone from the completion of the 21 day detox. I had restless leg , nausea, loose stools, I couldn't sleep for anything.. it got to the point where I couldn't take it. s, I have been taking cholesterol medication for about 2 months, I also take Hydrocodone 10/325 and Tramadol 50mg daily. I take 3 and 3. I was told that if my liver enzyme's were not down by my next visit on 3/23 I would no longer be able to take the Hydrocodone nor the cholesterol medication. My question is what alternatives to I have to replace the Hydrocodone10/325. Please reply with any advice or suggestions. Thank You.
Gaining wt off hydro???? For me personally that's amusing since I always GAINED wt ON hydrocodone and/or methadone! I guess everyone really reacts very differently! They always made me crave sugar even more than I usually do, and when I was on methadone, I would often eat nothing but sugary cereal by the box for days. Not healthy, I know, but I'm changing!.........Since I went off methadone, which has only been 11 days, I have hardly been able to eat anything.
My doctors has prescribed a tapering method that includes 10 mg methadone and a 25mg version of the hydrocodone. He feels I should have it licked in 6 weeks. Given the length of time in which I have been on this medication, do you think I have a realistic chance to be successful? Is Buprenex is better option? Would some type of patch help?
t want him to think I am just trying to get more Hydrocodone. That is NOT the case, I want to get off, but this Methadone is insane and I am worse now. At least on my 3 a day Hydrocodone I could FUNCTION! I have never understood why they give Methadone to get people off opiates when its an opiate itself, much stronger, and HARD AS HELL to get off of. Seems like you just stay in the same boat UGH! I am now on the 72hr mark off the hydrocodone. And I take 1/3rd of what was prescribed to me. I was prescribed #90 of the 10mg methadone pills take 1 threee times daily. Well I take a half of one in the morning, and a half of one late in the afternoon and thats it. I have not felt good like this in a long time. I know seasoned users will tell me that I'm still in trouble...but I want to do this. I am taking 10mg of methadone per day and it does not get me high and I will never abuse it.
You have two different animals in your post. Hydrocodone and methadone arent even close to the same. Its mostly the long half life of methadone that makes it attractive for maintenance. A single dose is good for over 24 hours. And a person can be quite functional on methadone. If vic's lasted longer it might have been the case with those also - but its not. A person being maintained on methadone once daily would need 4-6 doses of hydrocodone to remain on something resembling an even keel.
Can I take hydrocodone for pain while withdrawing from methadone? I am starting suboxone after 72 hrs.
My Adderall is 20mg. methadone 5mg, Xanax 1.0mg and hydrocodone 10mg. Really need answers as to if it is okay to take all these at same time. Please help me out quick as possible?
I am not going to say that methadone is the best pain medication but some do get relief from it and do great on it. I would definitely talk to the doctor and let him know it is making you really drowsy even at the lower dose. the methadone does me the same way. I can not take it.
As far as the bleeding that is NOT normal and you need to see you OBGYN right away!
You may have an ectopic pregnancy and that is very dangerous.

My wife had hip surgery and became addicted to hydrocodone. She went to a doctor to help her quit. He gave her methadone. He gave her 70 5mg pills, which she took in about 2 weeks, or 5 per day. when she ran out, she began withdrawel far worse than from than from the hydrocodone. Can she really becme physically addicted this fast? If so, how long will wd's last after taking it for such a short period?
Yeah I'm on methadone too and its going to be fine. They wouldn't have prescribed it if it were going to be damaging. And 5mg is nothing.
I knew you would. As I have thought about it after reading gnarly and justsayno's post..I can see why they say the hydrocodone first..then the methadone. Makes alot of sense. And now you know how to send him messages, right? Keep me posted on how you are doing ok?

I'm guessing treatment facilities have changed in the past 25 years LOL, but I don't think the program/process has though. In long term treatment "30 days or more" is to get the person off using any drugs " crutch" within 7 to 14 days. I'm wondering how 30mg of methadone is more beneficial then 30mg of hydrocodone???
ok so here is my question I have taken methadone to get off of the hydro and oxy's and it did work but I felt that methadone was just putting out fire with gasoline it just made me addicted to methadone and they started me off on a high dose.
