The only thing that I can imagine is that it raises your pulse rate or blood pressure, something to do with the heart. I know sometimes just from the methadone I coudl feel real jittery and my heart would seem to be beating really hard, so I could see how caffeine could make that worse. Anyways this is the first time Ive heard about caffeine and methadone interacting in any way, so I to would like to hear what the risk is.

I noticed I started having problems as soon as I started the Methadone Clinic, 3 yrs ago. I recently had an endoscopy and waiting on the biopsy results. I'm so sick of not being able to eat anything. I'm living off of oatmeal and can't over eat. But it's not over eating because I've been starving. I can only eat a small bowl of oatmeal before I take my methadone and then another small one for lunch.

I have chronic pain in my hips and back. I took Vicodin HP for 2 years and I do have heart disease and history of heart attacks. Then it was decided that I should take Methadone because of the overuse of Tylenol. I only take half of what the dose is, because the pain is better on this med. I didn't feel any different with or without the Vicodin. I am worried about something and you might know the answer for me.

I am a 42 year old diabetic type 2, diagnosed with hypertension about a year ago, recently diagnosed with heart murmur, and also had a borderline ekg, ihave also been on perscribed methadone for arthritis for about three years, I am schedualed for a ecocardiagram next week, I am wondering if the methadone could be causing the sudden problems.

Really need a little help. I have been using Oxycontin for almost 2 years now and have wanted to stop soo bad. I was using between 200-300mgs.a day. Had a friend give me some methadone a while back and began to use only when I couldn't find anymore Oxy using on and off in small doses 1-2 10 mg. tablets. I finally built the strength to get off the opiates and have not used Oxy for 8 days now. Since I've never seen a doctor I know very little about methadone or how to use it.

Remeber the whole anna nicloe thing. well her son died from a heart attack due to mixing anti depressents and methadone. I would think the dr. or the pharmacy would know but you never know and must check into this further. Methadone affects your sex drive as do other opiates. It numbs everything up. Are you and your bf doing anything with recovery care?

I have been on methadone for 5 months now and my life has taken a 180. I do not ever want to be like I was 5 months ago. I work and I am a great mother again and I am dependable and proud of myself. 3 years back..I went to a private methadone doctor.Anyway,I told her I had a heart condition that was very sensitive to many over the counter medication..especially ones that speed up the heart.Well.. the day I went to see her I had told her I had already taken my daily dose of oxy.She highly suggested that I take a dose of methadone that very day.I told her I didnt need the dose,and if I could go home for the week-end and not take any oxy,but she was very very determined I take a dose that day.

Mixing benzos and methadone is a deadly combo and worried is right they will kick him out of the program as soon as it turns up in a U/A this is one drug they have a 0 tolerance for in the program ...

I have started taking Methadone on occasion. This morning I took a 10mg Methadone and this evening I took 3 10mg Hydrocodones. I am experiencing a ton of breathing problems now. I am currently pregnant and on 120 mgs of methadone....I dont use any other drugs at all. My boyfriend wants me to have an abortion because he thinks the baby will be deformed or slow and have problems or that childrens aid will take the baby immediatly is he right? diazepines are dangerous when mixed with methadone,as a person can develope respiratory problems and go-under.If you have concerns ask to accompany him to the clinic and sit in on the results of his urine-test. They test a patients urine every time the dr. issues a neww RX.If he agree that theres no problem with confidentiality the dr. will advise you on his progress.

try melatonin it has helped me and detox of methadone and Tylenol pm . never realized how important it is till its gone.

I can handle the day if I'm busy. I went to a football game today and handled the day pretty well. I've been taking my blood pressure at night when I have "spells" and the bp isn't going super high, but my heart rate does. It's like a hot flash with a high pulse, up to 100. I'm a tad bit concerned that I might be having gall bladder problems.

That is so odd - I had a doctor appointment a couple of weeks ago and I was also told I had an irregular heart beat - never did before the painkillers. I don't know if it will get better..... Sorry I couldn't answer your question.

Hey guy.....once again, I can relate to you. I know our recovery times and almost identical time on subs are very similar; even tho methadone wasn't the drug I w/drew from, my 200-300 mg/hydros did a number on my respiratory system. Even had a wasted trip to the ER early on for CNS and respiratory issues. Since our histamine levels are majorly affected while using, this has an inflammatory effect on our bodies.

I am in my third trymester now and am addicted to shooting up opannas if not methadone I just find something to not detox but I don't want to do anything just have been scared to quit because of the withdraws for my baby I heard withdraws will kill my baby? Can I just quit everything and withdraw threw till I am completely out of detox? I just want to be free of this addiction for me and my baby!!
