Avatar f tn along with flexeril and anti depressants and stuff .she was in a horrible CSR accident in 2001 with barely functioning kegs Cuz they both exoded and she had all the bones rebuilt from her knee down ....so anyway ..the new pills prescribed to her today was clonodine and something else that starts with a b for abdomen pain .... Is that a lethal mix with the clonidine ? ( 1mg 3x a day) ..
217599 tn?1202850952 I was given flexeril and tramadol for back/neck pain. So, I might just be strange, but I got hooked on tramadol after 4 a day for a little over 2 weeks. I wasn't mentally hooked, but when I stopped I thought I was going to die. I actually went to the doctor because I was just convinced I had the flu. It turns out it was wd from the tramadol. But that's just me......just a warning to be careful!
Avatar m tn Hi, my husband is disabled with chronic severe back/leg/hip pain from multiple failed surgeries and and one of his pain management meds is Flexeril, that Clean mentioned. He too gets wicked muscle spasms and takes the Flexeril for that. It helps him. I am an opiate addict (for effect) but do get bad lower back pain at night, probably from carrying 60 pounds on my small frame during pregnancy...and I am getting older.
871357 tn?1244040713 I think anything pretty much can be addictive if perceived to be. How many did she take before she went to sleep? No, she should not have needed the excederinpm unless she was asking for the pain.? Just watch her, she won't try to od on the flexeril will she.? Do a search on the flexeril and see what you can find out about it. I took it for awhile, didn't seem to help a whole lot but I hear some say it works well for them. Yes, it should, could make her sleepy.
Avatar f tn Just in case you are curious, it takes us three to four days to detox a patient from methadone or any other opiate and get him/her back home drug free and feeling well on Naltrexone therapy (no opiates). At home, the basic technique is to space out the pills you take on a consistent manner until you take only one at night, than half at night, than every other night and then none.
Avatar m tn I have hashimotos By the way. I am asking because i am hanving jaw tension and pain now and want to take the flexeril but i am afraid it might trigger my hyop tyroidism.
1460652 tn?1340248730 then i was involved in a car accident and was prescribed flexeril 7 days ago. the palps started 30 mins after the first pill. i just thought it was stress from the accident and "oh great, the skips are back"...until they became debilitating, and my bp dropped to 90/50, where as it is usually 115/75.i went to the dr. AGAIN and he said to go see a cardioloist AGAIN.
Avatar m tn My big fear is epilepsy Oxy use to make me shake and bite my tongue but since i been on 200mg Lamictal it has stopped I read Flexeril may cause seizure but then I also read the opposite. Even if I am not epileptic I like to play it safe as my Doc is out, and the pharmacy worker never seems to know anything. So does Flexeril increase seizure risk or is that just for (diagnosed) epileptics? I don't want to add it to the oxy and have a attack.
Avatar n tn I have been on methadone for 90 days, I take 100 mg every other day. How long and how server will my withdrawals be, if I go cold turkey and stop.
Avatar f tn I have been on methadone HCL and morphine IR for several years, (chronic pain from bike accident/fractured neck, several surgeries, etc) ut originally was put on oxycontin and soma! I quit soma after 2 yrs cold turkey and then the oxy too with the help of great doctor and methadone. I have tapered methadone down from 14 tabs day (10 mg) to 5/day and the morphine from 6/day (15mg) to 3/day (recently went 2.
4407520 tn?1363011865 I wish this was the worst it would get, but im sure it will probably hit me at Day 7 like you all said yesterday, still sleeping good so far, taking flexeril, quinine, and melatonin b4 bed, the part i hate the most is your arm and legs muscle drawing up and cramping waking you up in the middle of the night, ive been waiting for that to happen, but nothing yet, thank you all for your support!!
Avatar f tn I been taking flexeril for years because of muscle pain due to Lupus and for the last 2 months have been being treated for severe indigestion as a side effect of the med Verapimil. I was wondering if the flexeril could relax the sphincter muscle that is involved in GERD? Please give me any ideas or info you might have regarding if the flexeril would be contraindicated due to the GERD situation? Thanks, God bless!
Avatar f tn I applaud your resolve to get clean, but want to caution you that methadone is a long acting narcotic and your withdrawal symptoms will stick around for quite a while. You will feel rotten for as long as four to six weeks. You may want to switch to something shorter acting, talk to your doctor about it, and taper off of that. There is really no easy way of detoxing from home. I have dealt with hundreds of addicts who have all told me horror stories of doing it by themselves.
1415174 tn?1453243103 Hi again has anyone tried Flexeril (muscle relaxant)? Any bad side effects and did it help pain , I have I guess myofascial pain. Any trouble with withdrawal gettnig off of it?
232328 tn?1207090071 I used flexeril for back pain, and to be honest it did nothing...The doctor told me it was going to make me sleepy and it did not...It is a muscle relaxent... I ws on the 10mg dose.... So then he switched me to zanaflex, and i can only take it at nite because it makes me knock out....I don't take it all the time, only when my back is hurting as i think that one can be addicting i am sure others will give you their experience on it!
Avatar f tn My back is really bothering me!! Hurts so bad and can't relax for anything!! I'm 35 weeks and really want to! Has anyone taken a muscle relaxer or even a half of one?
1415174 tn?1453243103 m going again tomorrow to perhaps get off of flexeril and maybe get a monitor to take home. Has anyone had this happen to them when on Flexeril? I noticed that the skipped beats got worse with the supplements i'm on too but don't know if these should cause such an event.
7392085 tn?1390512827 I do not believe that switching from methadone to Suboxone is an answer.Suboxone is an opiate and is extremely addictive. People find it just as difficult to taper and quit. One of the patients in our clinic, who we had to detox from Suboxone, was so addicted, that no matter how far down she titrated this drug she could not get off. At one point she was literally just licking the 1 mg strip, but she could not give it up. I find that most have the same problem with both of these drugs.
Avatar f tn I've had bad lower back, tailbone, and pelvic pain. My doctor prescribed flexiril and pain meds. I take them as needed, I usually take half of a muscle relaxer though cause they make me so sleepy!
Avatar n tn a little more info but the short answer is yes with a prescription and yes if it is available in the home and yes from friends. Do you take flexeril? Who suggested it? What does your child need it for? I ask this way because of the ongoing epidemic of Prescription drug abuse by children who get it at home or from friends who get it at home etc. And you did good asking but better to ask your doc. So fill us in and put your pills in a secure Secure place! Looking forward to hearing from you.
Avatar f tn Was thinking of Goin on methadone for only a little while long enough to save some money and go to detox. I would prefer to go cold turkey right now and get a naltrexone implant, but don't have money saved for rehab or my bills. What should I do? Will being on methadone make it harder it get off it in detox. Will it make it better to get on methadone for 4 months the go to detox? I've heard Goin off subs after years of being on it is really hard. I want a drug free life!

Avatar f tn See if this doctor can write you a prescription for some Gabapentin for anxiety and general malaise, Requip for restlessness, some Flexeril or Soma for a few weeks for muscle spasms and maybe some Seroquel low dose 25-50mg for sleep. It will make withdrawals easier. You can try ibuprofen 600mg for pain. Please don't start taking the any opiates again as it will only throw you back into withdrawals once you stop again, or make you relapse.
Avatar f tn You are right, certain medications particularly muscle relaxants and antichlinergics, interfere with the results of EMG like baclofen and flexeril or cyclobenzaprine that you are taking. It would be prudent to apprise your neurologist of all the medications you are on, so that the EMG results are appreciated in that light. Muscle biopsy can be taken up after an EMG. Consult your neurologist for his preferences and expertise. Take care.
