Avatar m tn no it is not arthritis.....my question is....what will happen if she combines the methadone and the pregabalin?...she takes methadone about every other day...a bottle of 130mg methadone will last her almost 5 to 6 days....any info would be helpful.
Avatar f tn I took methadone for 3 years for Fibromyalgia. Luckly I am a VA vet so they mailed me 20mg a day in one months supply for $8. It stopped working so well. I went off of it cold turkey (some people don't recommend that) and had very mild agitation, little sleep and wierd dreams for about 5 days. After that I was off of it. I switched to Lyrica. seems to work better than methadone. If you have not taken methadone as suscribed then you might have to taper off of it.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know of a doctor who will prescribe me methadone in low doses for my fibromyalgia. I've tried all kinds of pain meds, including natural and methadone is the only drug that gets me out of bed.
Avatar f tn Failed to do that several times due to blood pressure rising and a convulsion. Needless to say I am totally away from anyone in the drug using world. I do have fibromyalgia and degenerative disc disease, My Rheumatologist is hard to get in to see quickly but I am wondering if savella she gave me could cause serotonin syndrome? All I take is is lisinopril savella and the methadone. Could methadone contribute to serotonin with the milnacipran? the savella seems to be helping my fibro.
714288 tn?1243254191 I am having terrible pain with Fibromyalgia that goes along with hep c for some. And also mild depression on the scare of a disease that could kill me after the drug use did not!
Avatar f tn Well I go to a methadone clinic cause of drug problems. I didn't start feeling the pain from the fybro until after I started going to the clinic and that's what terrifies me cause everyone keeps telling me how much the methadone is helping with my pain and if that's case I can't even imagine what the pains gonna be like without the methadone. And I also thought that doctors only prescribed narcotics for fybro as a last resort too.
Avatar n tn Im in the same boat, i have fibromyalgia, and a ruptured disc in my back that i have to have surgery on in the near future, and i just got off methadone 40 days ago and i was going through serious wd,s AND back pain, my dr. gave me lyrica which helps alot. dont take the trams because your swithing one addicting drug for another and eventually u will have to withdraw from that too.
Avatar m tn This has been very upsetting for me losing so much hair , but I was told that hair loss is a side effect of methadone, not sure about other opiates. I am weaning off my methadone, down to 22mgs and I notice my hair is just starting to come back in. Has this happened to any of you?
Avatar n tn very over top my mother has fibromyalgia and all she takes is xanax and darvecet very mild pain pill my aunt has also and all she is on is 4 10mg lortabs a day
Avatar f tn I suffer from chronic back neck and hip pain from a car accident and have fibromyalgia and vicodin doesnt work any more so now i need to find a doctor who will write for methadone pills not liquid and a monthly script not daily clinic in mass please help me
216046 tn?1193943404 I was just prescribed Lyrica for fibromyalgia pain and take 100mgs of methadone daily for pain as well. Hopefully i can come off the methadone soon. My question is, has anyone heard of lyrica causing withdrawal symptoms when taken w/methadone? I was given Tramadol(Ultram) w/ methadone and thought I was going to die with the interaction it caused!!!
1708849 tn?1308063972 I just read something about a methadone breakthrough comment from the methadone community. I took Dilaudid for my bad spinal tap and isn't that like morphine? That is not a breakthrough in my opinion; that is a bad drug to get on. I know it helps temporary but I was on morphine for 5 days and it stopped working eventually. I take oxycodone and tylenol 3 w/ codeine for pain but you people with chronic pain like me need to be careful with addiction.

Avatar n tn My girlfriend is on 43mg of methadone currently to deal with her fibromyalgia. I am not sure how long she has been on methadone (probably over a month). We are finally in a position to start seriously looking at options to help her get off methadone. I have to be honest, I did not think too much about methadone because I didnt know too much about it and just thought it was something to help with her fibromyalgia.
Avatar m tn s the same as mscontin I have chronic pain syndrome and have had it for 10 years in my shoulder and the methadone has been great for my pain I take 10 mg 4 times a day and that has worked great that is all I have to take all day I know a lot of people that use it for pain and it works great and it is very cheap to get filled at the drugstore it cost me 15 dollars for 120 pills per months if you have any question feel free to message me.
Avatar f tn I have a strict rule for myself and that is no sweets after 4pm and I try and have dinner before 5pm and exercise before bed. I know it is very hard to exercise with chronic pain and dieting is not an answer either as a healthy diet is the best option. Maybe a program like weight watchers may help. I know it helps me when I do it as I have someone else to "compete" with:) Having to weigh every week and having a goal also helps.
Avatar f tn Has any one here been on antidepressants while on methadone? Alot of drugs for fibro and arthritis are blocked by the methadone, so I am hoping the antidepressants could do their job while I treat for hep c. I am on 120 MG at this time, coming down from 160 in a year. Feedback welcome!
537731 tn?1268265286 She said I will always have to go up in dosage on Percocet and with Methadone I wouildnt and that the difference between sub and methadone is sub blocks opiates and doesnt help with pain but methadone was. I have been on the same dosage of perc for years and they dont work as much as they use to. I was just worried about getting my prescription filled period I wasn't going to bring up I am taking more and they dont work the same I am still in pain taking them.
1603806 tn?1297787253 For the last 2 months, i have had severe pain in both my feet and ankles, mostly on the right side. Last year i had surgery for plantar fascilitis, in that foot. It was pretty much all better... But now i have pain so bad that its difficult to walk. Like within the last two weeks its become almost untolerable.
Avatar f tn I have had fibromyalgia since a near fatal car accident 10 years ago. I am currently on Celexa and Methadone, and I have gained about 35 lbs. and I can't figure out how to stop it or why it is happening. My pain management doctor is a neurologist, and he just says it is a combination of the meds, menopause, not being as active, but he is not a diet doctor and his main concern is my pain. Is there another combination of meds that doesn't do this?
1264367 tn?1408104163 I have gastroparesis, and GERD, and am on methadone maintenance. I noticed I started having problems as soon as I started the Methadone Clinic, 3 yrs ago. I recently had an endoscopy and waiting on the biopsy results. I'm so sick of not being able to eat anything. I'm living off of oatmeal and can't over eat. But it's not over eating because I've been starving. I can only eat a small bowl of oatmeal before I take my methadone and then another small one for lunch.
Avatar f tn I do not want to damage my liver further but I have so many aches and pains that I need to find something that might help. I also on methadone and that throws a wrench into the mix. And no the methadone does not stop the pain or the IBS. I have built up a tolerance I guess and I do not want to increase it due to constipation getting worse. I would appreciate any feedback if you have any of these problems.
Avatar f tn Finally I got where you are. I got on Methadone. I was on it for 2 and 1/2 years. I will tell you the goods and the bads. Goods are, no pill searching and having your life revolve around your next fix. The bads are, WAAAAYYY worse drug to get off of, don't mean to scare but you should be scaree. SEVERE w/d symtpoms much worse than oxy's. The clinic now will cotrol your life, it controlled mine. I felt like they owned me, and they did.
458848 tn?1206519711 I can't find a doctor that will put me on Methadone or Morphine for my Fibromyalgia.
Avatar f tn But in the case of using methadone to treat CP, the DR will taper you down trying to avoid severe withdrawls and most likely give you support medications for blood pressure, nausea/vomiting and possibly sleep/anxiety. To make you as comfortable as possible. I do know there are some members in this community who have or are using methadone for chronic pain. I'll let them know to stop by and let you know how they have done on it.

1050179 tn?1253899186 I live in WI and do not have any answers for you. Keep looking. Methadone is being prescribed more and more for chronic pain. There are some great articles written by well know and respected PM Physicians regarding the use of methadone in pain management. It has less side effects and has a much lower rate of abuse. When I have a moment I will see if I can find those articles. Maybe if you took it to your physician they would understand the benefits.
