If rehab isnt an option, then crawl into bed and detox at home- not with Methadone (in my opinion). Just cold turkey it and get yourself to a meeting asap! But really try for a rehab facility.. you may be able to get lots of info at your loccal NA meetings too.

it is not advised to take benzos while on methadone..benzos are addictive so often not the best choice..if u r on methadone then tapering off with ur drs help is advisable..ask him for a safe drug to sleep..many use clonidine to help wds and sleep..phenergan is another drug that is not addictive that may help u sleep..talk to ur dr..what is ur current dose of methadone?

but when it comes to the benzos, at that dose, you really should not just stop taking them, the risks of abruptly stopping benzos are seizure, stroke, coma and even death. benzos MUST be tapered off and at a slow rate, this is serious, please do not just stop taking benzos...a dear friend of mine will be suffering for the rest of hr life due to a stroke from a rapid taper off benzos...it is not worth the risk. go very slow with a taper from benzos under a doctors care.

this have been going on for about 8 months now. If it is the benzos and not the methadone(im at 20 mgs), then when i get off the xanax will i get my memory back????

I have gastroparesis, and GERD, and am on methadone maintenance. I noticed I started having problems as soon as I started the Methadone Clinic, 3 yrs ago. I recently had an endoscopy and waiting on the biopsy results. I'm so sick of not being able to eat anything. I'm living off of oatmeal and can't over eat. But it's not over eating because I've been starving. I can only eat a small bowl of oatmeal before I take my methadone and then another small one for lunch.

i have been on methadone for 12 years current dose 64mg once a day liquid form. I also take 4mg klonopin daily for about a year...just a few days ago my doctor said he was scared to refill my klonopin because of the Micheal Jackson crap and cut me off cold turkey i feel like **** really bad and i am afraid i am in danger.

He is not using benzos to get off the methadone he is ABUSING the benzos, increasing the effects of the methadone. Melfy, you've been on the benzos a long time. Benzos are not the long term treatment for PTSD. Can we help you?

It seemed to work about the same on or off methadone but the only way to know which ones will be safe for you are to talk to your doc and also benzos are usually not a good idea with methadone but definitley check with ur doc.

My ultimate goal is to be 100% non dependent. If anyone has kicked benzos and methadone I would really appreciate know how you feel today? Do you feel back to your normal self? Are you getting sleep? I pray for everyone struggling now and in the future.

Im 34 days off Methadone and I just got out of county jail and I am agitated, frustrated, can't sleep, etc.. I find myself looking for substitutes to calm me down. I'm also ADHD, and depressive. I have no interest in NA or AA, and all of this is creating problems at home. I just don't know how to go about letting go. ANY help would be great. Thx!

most clinics are dead set agents the use of benzos and methadone together ....at the time of induction I was on xanex and the clinic use to pitch a fit every time a u/a came back positive for it....I would always have to get a letter from the prescribing doctor stateing that it would be ok to take both at the same time...they even threaten to pull my take homes because of it once...the celexa not a problem my concirn lyes with the clonipine ......

I was one methadone for a while and i decided to quit i used benzos to taper off the methadone. The only problem is i never quit the benzos and developed a narly addiction to benzos id say way more negative consequences from benzo use comapred to opiates. At least opiates i had a methadone clinic. Anyways finally kicked the benzos and im 5 months clean and sober. For those wondering the man came over and gave me 30mgs of xanax i flushed them huray!

i need medication for anxiety and am currently undergoing daily methadone maintanence and am not supposed to have benzos in my system. so i would like to know if it safe for me to take the klonipin with out suffering repurcussions with my methadone treatment.

Does a urine test or blood test detect methadone and benzos longer and if posible, how long do these drugs stay in your system for the purposes of a urine screen (12 panel) and a blood screen.

You will have to call the doctor and tell him what you were taking and ask him if it is okay. We cant and wont give you the info you are looking for. We will help you get thru this emotionally.......

there has been so many peole n my area overdosing and dying bc they r mixing methadone and benzos togeather. plus they r also mixing methadone and other drugs , like heroin , pain killers, etc,. they keep taking more of the pills bc they r not feeling the effect of the pills bc of the methadone blocking them and then they overdose b4 they know it. its very dangerous and i also hope ur not doing this.

I currently began going back to a methadone clinic and Ive been there for a week and a half but in that amount of tine I went from 40mgs all the way to 100mg within one week. So I started taking some left over klonopins so I popped them and started to catch a very euphoric rush because of the synergistic effect that causes the opiates and benzodiazepines to mix and interact causing heavy sedation, nodding out.

My hubby's 35 days clean off methadone and isn't sleeping. His doctor prescribes him Zopiclone on a weekly script but he's going through it in a few days. He takes 2 and that'll give him about an hour and a half sleep then he takes another 2 and sometimes another 1 before morning. He's got a demanding job and people keep saying to him...gosh you look terrible...have you not slept?

We may have every intention of doing what we say but our active addiction is louder. Your wife is on a Deadly combination of drugs Benzos and Methadone have lead to many deaths from OD and respiratory failure. I'm really surprised the clinic approves of this mix. We are not allowed to give taper advice although the clinic will taper her if she demands it I think 10mgs a week. You cannot force a addict to get clean.

Mixing benzos and methadone is a deadly combo and worried is right they will kick him out of the program as soon as it turns up in a U/A this is one drug they have a 0 tolerance for in the program ...

HI mixing any benzo with methadone is dangerous some clinics wont even dose you many wont even sigh you up if your on a benzo but some will just know methadone and benzos together can cause respiratory failure in some cases it is not worth the gamble good luck and God bless.................Gnarly...........................

Thanks, Yes I did,talk to my doc but these Thai doctors not too good - I wasn't doing that much Methodone. But the equivalent amount of Codeine (according to the doc) was astounding. 15mg Methodone = something like 225mg Codeine - so I forgot that one entirely as I've never done close to that much Codeine. So I replaced 1 methadone each day with 2 15 mg codeine, then got to 6 15mg codeine, just a few days.

My hubby's using benzos to help with his withdrawal off methadone. Not every day and not very much but my question is... Will he develop a dependancy for those too? He's got 2 more days on 1mg of methadone then that's it!!!

I've struggled with methadone and xanax addiction for about 4 years. Most of this has been illegal use, but I am now attending my third methadone clinic. I don't have a prescription for the xanax, so I have to get off it. The clinic reduces my methadone dose 5mgs every 2 weeks if I keep testing dirty for benzos. I was taking 2 bars a day but have tapered down to half a bar the past few days, which is 1 mg.
