methadone and anxiety

I have gastroparesis, and GERD, and am on methadone maintenance. I noticed I started having problems as soon as I started the Methadone Clinic, 3 yrs ago. I recently had an endoscopy and waiting on the biopsy results. I'm so sick of not being able to eat anything. I'm living off of oatmeal and can't over eat. But it's not over eating because I've been starving. I can only eat a small bowl of oatmeal before I take my methadone and then another small one for lunch.

I have have been on methadone & zanax for 7yrs 40mg methadone & 31/2 mg zanax and slowly tappering off the methadone 5mg a week to reach 30mg to get on bupenorphen for 1to2 months so i can get off methadone because of longer w/d so i have heard i would appriciate any info thanks

I have found that therapy has helped so much with my anxiety and helps to give me a new perspective!! And it is dangerous to be on methadone and benzos together! Especially if you arent being monitored! How many mgs of Xanax are you taking a day? Please be very careful with that combination especially since you have abused the benzos in the past!!! Please keep posting and let us know how you are getting on!!

You will have to call the doctor and tell him what you were taking and ask him if it is okay. We cant and wont give you the info you are looking for. We will help you get thru this emotionally.......

no it is not arthritis.....my question is....what will happen if she combines the methadone and the pregabalin?...she takes methadone about every other day...a bottle of 130mg methadone will last her almost 5 to 6 days....any info would be helpful.

I am currently on methadone and have been for about a year now, and i am dealing with a lot of anxiety and depression. I have been on celexa for about 7 years and the doctor decided that i have become immune to it, so he is putting me on wellburtin. I haven't tried it yet because i havent heard good things so far and am a little worried. I'm also concerned about side effects from taking the two drugs together even though the doctor said it wouldn't be a problem.

I was using oxycodone at the time, I think I most I ever took was 10 10mgs a day but my tolerance was just getting up there , way too high so I knew I needed to do something about that , so the doctors put me on methadone, and here I am 7 days later.

bubba, dope or opiates can cause anxiety and depresion in some cases. Methadone for sure. I had panic attacks on high dose methadone and was depressed because it's depressing. I can tell you for sure that higher dose methadone made me have terrible panic and nightmares.

Basically, my son receives a daily methadone dose and also gets a script for klonipin. The catch is, he has adhd, and the klonipin gives my son the feeling that he is on speed. It is complete chaos when he's high on benzodiazepines. I am at a loss. He is a thirty year old man and has four children. He is undergoing treatment for hepatitis c as well. So, the drug interferon is being used on him.

i was abusing diazapam and used to be very forgetful and total didnt give a f***.

Not sure which drug had the worse anxiety in withdrawal. I used methadone, pot, OxyContin, MScontin, and Valium. I think the Valium was the hardest. I cold turkey off them all at the same time. Major seizures had to stay in HOSP for a bit. Am doing great now. Still have some paws but nothing like it was before.

My husband attends a methadone program and is currently on 40 mg so he says but i know he is in a higher dosage, I need to know how can i help him get off the methadone, i am clean never used a day in my life and this is why we are having issues its like he wants to to get off but he is always putting excuses like its not easy you dont know what its like to be an addict and so forth please help any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

My son is also on methadone dosage, but he has severe anxiety, panic attacks and all. He cannot work, but has to so he can pay for the clinic. Did you ever get anxiety meds? What about antidepressants, that help with anxiety? Does anyone know what they are? Please help me help my son. He, too, cannot leave the house. Only to go to the methadone clinic.

i have been through the methadone nightmare as well, its not fun and you WILL suffer, there is NO way out of that. but when it comes to the benzos, at that dose, you really should not just stop taking them, the risks of abruptly stopping benzos are seizure, stroke, coma and even death. benzos MUST be tapered off and at a slow rate, this is serious, please do not just stop taking benzos...

hi the doctor has prescribed me anti depressents and valium but i havent taken them dont want another addiction if this is just part of the process and i may get over it, im sleeping much better but its just the mornings that are getting to me and im irratible all day, im trying to keep my self busy but i just dont feel like me anyone im 28 and feel like im 88, as soon as my withdrawls stopped thats when the anxiety started and it gets so scary sometimes

Only slow tapering at a rate of 5-10mg/month which can be supported by a good Vitamins and Mineral supplement and most importantly Clonidine and possibly a bit of carefully monitored Klonopin (a broad spectrum anti-depressant can also be of use in many cases) is going to give you anything coming close to a significantly reduced pain and anxiety withdrawal from methadone. Even a bit of oral marijuana can help, I say oral to eliminate the lung damage from smoking it.

s also people out there like me that take a small amount of a anxiety medicine and methadone, which everybody dose is different! if i was getting high off of the mixture, i sure as heck wouldn't be up every day and working and being a mom and just doing the simple things like grocery shopping. I feel unless you have been put in someone elses shoes, you have no clue what your talking about.

I'm on methadone and Xanax, changing doctors this month... I actually quit the methadone for a bit; then, required another surgery and got back on it. Anyway, that's kinda what it sounds like. I went cold turkey, felt like I was dying (kinda wanted to). I was hot then cold, restless but tired, sometimes a bit disoriented, agitated at times, etc... I went to Health Hut, & was totally upfront about it, the girl gave me a few things for the stress and tension.

t do me a lot of good w/the ultram of course...2 years ago, but hell...Ibuprophen and naproxen are def not addictive and I will stick to those in the future. wtf was I thinking that I could control percs and vike if I couldn't control that??!! I feel so stupid.

So I was sent to a pain care center, you probably guessed this....So, they put me on methadone, and dilaudid...I eventually quit dilaudid as it did not help with pain...They switched me to oxycodone and uped methadone...OK, well it turns out I have one bad knee.I am scheduled to have knee replacement surgery on Novemeber 7th. I currently take 60 milligrams of oxycodone and thirty milligrams of methadone...

I would try, try, try to stop taking the phenergan definitely and really work on only taking the klonopin for anxiety attacks and not just for the high. The clonidine will help you get away from methadone if you wanted to try that or get away from the klonopin. You shouldn't be taking all these together though, it can be very dangerous. So my mouth is constantly super dry because of quitting The methadone? I have such a hard time drinking water. What do I do about the anxiety and depression that makes it really hard to deal with life so then I want to use what I use to use but I won't because of my daughter. The other thing is all I would eat while I was on methadone was sugar!! now I eat none And only have lost 5 pounds and it use to drop off so quick before!!

In the meantime see if a doctor can write you a prescription for some Requip for restlessness, Neurontin for anxiety and malaise, some Flexeril or Soma for a few weeks for muscle spasms and maybe some Seroquel low dose, for sleep and Klonopin which will be helpful for sleeplessness and anxiety. It will make withdrawals easier. Valerian and Magnesium is sometimes helpful remedies over the counter. The residual symptoms of insomnia and depression can last another few months.

I’m going through this too and was and am on methadone for 10 yrs 225 mg and for the last 8 yrs tapered down to 30 mgs so so slowly and am still going through pure agony. I’m tired 24/7 and have NO energy, irritable, anxiety and panic attacks daily and went to the ER 3 times thinking I was having a heart attack but they ruled it out and said it was anxiety/panic attack that lasted 10 hrs straight. I’m going crazy dealing with it. Any suggestions??

the clonidine helps a lot with the sweats, chills, and blood pressure fluctuations, the benzos are extremely helpful in stopping the insane anxiety, insomnia, muscle cramping and spasms, and restlessness. then i would get OTC immodium and an anti-diarrhea, and a OTC anti-nausea medicine. i also had some ambien for sleep as well. my detox was done in a hospital supervised but you can do it on your own if you think you can handle that.

not habit forming...time is the main thing tho.....some AD lhelp with anxiety and sleep...

How long were you on the Zoloft? Because whether or not he was having issues with it if he was on it for an extended period of time,part of this could be w/d's from the Zoloft. Paired with (I wouldn't say really high dose,because my little sister is on 170ml and she's only 120 pounds. That's a high dose) the methadone and then some anxiety ontop of all that. Deff get in and see your doctor hun. You need to get to the root of this issu asap!!!

With the amount of oxy he was taken sub might not work, the dose can only go so high and then it actually acts as anti-opiate, the oens used in overdoses, whereas methadone is a full agonist and you can go higher and higher whatever you need to make you comfortable and stable. both give you a mild buzz, and both are complete hell to get off of. sub is just as hard no matter what anyone else says. its just as hard as methadone, its opiate withdrawal times two months. it *****.
