metformin vertigo

Hi, I just started taking Metformin for my new diagnosed Diabetes 2 and today right around lunch time i started feeling really shaky and just overall weird. Is that the deabetes or the meds?

I have not been feeling good for the last 4 weeks i am on metformin and folic acid also, it dont matter how much i sleep im still tired. my stomach has been very tender every time my husband puts his arm on my stomach or i lean over somthing it hurts BAD .!! but like i said i have not felt that great and ive been getting nausous alot latley i would throw up but i cant keep anything down ..

I am a 29 yr old female, smoker (working on quitting with my other half), I have PCOS and take Metformin X1000 daily for it, now on Meclizine 25mg up to 3 times a day as needed (can't take it while working, as it puts me to sleep for 8 to 12) and very prone to severe migraines which I'm suppose to take Imitrex for, just can't afford it.

Since June 2008 I have been having episodes of numbness in my face, slurred speech, loss of words, confusion, numbness in my right arm, inability to control or use my arm but can feel it, same with my right leg, unable to walk and control my right leg. Not all symptoms always present at the same time, sometimes just the speech, sometimes just the leg or arm. These episodes last anywhere from 15 minutes to longest 1 1/2 hours.

), PCOS ( without the polycystic ovaries - long story ), insulin reisistant on Metformin, high blood pressure suppodily controlled by meds ( it goes up and down depending on headaches and at it's own will ). About 3 months ago I started to get constant daily headaches or what I called migraines. They are not pulsating, more like a pressure from the inside accompanied with a fullness inside the ears and a ringing sound.

I had to stop taking metformin completely as soon as I got my pregnancy confirmed. I was taking it for PCOS and insulin resistance. My dr said I'll probably start taking it after delivery and after I finished breastfeeding.

My doctor told me once i find out im pregnant stop the metformin immediately...

Did anyone notice the post on hbvadvocate.org March issue that metformin can reduce the incidence of cancer by 97pct!isn't it a great news??

Has anyone taken metformin while pregnant? I am currently on metformin but my doctor told me to stop taking them at 9 weeks, but I am scared to bc I dont want to have a miscarriage. Any thoughts on what I should do?

Hi ladies. have any of you ever had to take metformin? I have been on it only a week now but my body is doing weird things and it is a bit unsettling. At first I thought what I was experiencing was normal but I was researching metformin on line and it said if you have any of these certain symptoms to get emergency medical attention right away because it can be life threatning. It named off many side effects that were normal and were not normal. I had both.

My doctor just placed me on Metformin 500mg for 7 days, and then I will take it twice a day after that. I took my first pill today, and a little while later I got a headache and felt like I had to eat something. The weakness part went away, however I still have a headache. I was wondering how everybody eles' expierence with this medication was and if this really helps.

Hi ladies, starting metformin soon and I was wondering what to expect? I've been looking online and it seems to be a medicine for diabetics although I've seen women talking about it on the forum in the past. I'm sure my re explained this to me, but I was overloaded with other info so it probably went in one ear and out the other-so much to remember. Thank you for any help!!

I don't have pcos, or endometriosis or diabetes but I have been ttc for almost a year and I am trying to research some things to talk to my doctor about when I go on Friday...I brought up Clomid but my dr. didn't like that idea and my friend said that her doctor put her on metformin (she has pcos though) and if not pregnant in a couple months, she is going on clomid...Does Metformin help you get pregnant?

i am a diabetic, and have been put on metformin due to the fact of me being a diabetic as well as having pcos. i get my AF every month. I was wondering if there is a chance I could get pregnant on it.. I have been trying to conceive for 2 years now. I had stopped taking metformin for awhile because of my stomach hurting when I took it and now I am on 1000mg a day. Any advice is much appreciated. Do you think it will work or what should my next step be?

I know that I ovulate but she thinks the Metformin/Glucophage might help me. Has anyone been on Metformin that can tell me what to expect? Are there any success stories for people with a similar situation? Thanks!

I've never used metformin, so I'm not really sure, but I think it helps with PCOS no matter what your weight. Anyone else?
