Has anyone confined taking metformin after embryo transfer and during pregnancy?

Hello! For those of you that have taken metformin during pregnancy, at how many weeks did you discontinue it? also did you just stop it cold turkey or taper it down ( i take it twice a day now and do i just stop or take it once a day for a while?) I am 33 weeks pregnant, and have had severe morning/all day sickness the entire time, they think stopping the metformin at this point may help..

t enough alone for my sugar during pregnancy so I also needed insulin.

I was also on it during my first pregnancy but stopped it when I was 12 weeks along. I also used it for fertility and because of previous miscarriages. I stopped cold turkey and had no side effects. I understand your concern but at 33 weeks stopping it would very likely have no effect on the baby. I really think your baby is fine at this point and you don't have much to worry about. I would listen to your OB in this case.

I am currently pregnant with my second. First clomid and metformin after 6 months. This baby clomid worked on the first try.

They also use metformin if you have an insulin resistance. This will regulate that. If you have pcos they use metformin also. It can make you sick to your stomach if you eat alot of carbs. But if it was not for metformin I would me ovulating. I have now ovulated 2 times and I am about to ovulate again( i feel it starting) it will happen within the next week.

In Canada, metformin is under clinical study for pregnancy. The officially approved treatment is insulin shot. I'm taking insulin but diet and exercice is more than needed to keep it under control. If your physician prescribed it He most think it is safe.

What type of exercises pcos woman can do during pregnancy?Or pcos woman should do walking only in their pregnancy time?She is taking rest .I am worried about her. Please give me answer she can start walking and exercises?If she can do exercises means what type of exercises prefarable for pcos pregnant woman?

Metformin is generally used in women that have PCOS or is a medicine used for diabetic people. Do you normally have regular cycles? It's strange for your doctor to have you take that just because you didn't ovulate one month. Every female will have a time where she doesn't ovulate one month for various (or no) reasons. How long ago did you take this, and are you still on it?

So it sounds like I might have a better chance of keep the pregnancy if I stay on the metformin during the pregnancy then...do you take it the whole time or just a little while during the pregnancy? I appreciate your advice so much!!! best wishes!

im six weeks now and im using metformin... my internal medicine doc told that it was ok to use metformin if my sugar levels are ok...but my gynycologist told that even if my sugar levels are ok i have to use insulin later on....

Thanks and Congrats to u. I continue to take metformin and progesterone during pregnancy. but still it ends in m/c. I pray and hope i'll get a solution for this.
