Avatar f tn I was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. My doctor put me on Metformin 500 milligrams. I have always been checking my blood sugar fasting levels in the morning and they always stayed between 100 + 108. I wanted to get my blood sugar levels below 100 but was unable to. That what is until I started using stevia in my diet. Stevia is an all natural sugar substitute which comes from a plant in South America.

Avatar n tn I have to go on the LID for 4-5 weeks and have been searching for an allowable milk substitute. Does anyone have any coments about Rich's Non-dairy creamer? I was hopeful about a coconut milk I found in a carton in the refrigerated section but turns out is has carageenan in it. I put sour cream, ranch dressing or have milk all the time with my foods since I am "saliva challenged" after my radiation treatments.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your concern. Actually I trust my Dr alot. No, I don't just listen to him and do what I want either, but I know my own body I would say better than he does. It started when he said I would need to take the Fenofibrate meds. When I went to pick them up the pharmacist said there may be a interaction from this med and the Simvastatin. The Dr. did tell me that I may have more pain in my muscles than I do now. I told him that I was having pain in my thighs and hip.
Avatar n tn t know if you are on Glucophage (Metformin) but some of your side effects can be caused by metformin. Some of the side effects of Metformin are headaches, Asthenia (loss of strength or weakness), abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, and indigestion. Because of my parents conditions I have done a little research on type 2 medications even though I am a type 1. I do have an aunt who seems to have every health problem known to man and I asked her if she ever had problems with aspartame.
