I have no side effects as long as I eat low carb and avoid alcohol. Also, make sure to take it right when you start eating, or right before, not on an empty stomach.

My dr has me take it before bed since I was having so many issues. I take 2 @750 mg per day. The side effects got better for me over time but they still make me have an odd stomach ache. Talk to your dr (or nurse) and see what they suggest. I think there are options. I was wondering if my dosage was too low- but it sounds like that is what everyone else is on!!!

Only side affects I suffered from were stomach upsets and diareaha in the first 2 weeks of starting it. I've been on it for about 2 years now, and the side affects are all gone. Generally speaking, Metformin can take 3-12 months to kick in and actually start working.

Hm, so you are diagnosed as PCOS or they just started the metformin for the reason of the adrenal gland issue? I'm trying to understand. LOL I know things that affect any part of our hormonal system will result in some mood changes. Are you taking the metformin as they intended? Have they also considered clomid? I was told I have PCOS. I'm not ovulating like I should. I have my cycle all the time. Studies have shown that Metformin helps women with PCOS by regulating their cycle. I'm currently off the medication because 1. my cycle never stopped and 2. all the crazy side effects. I was throwing up at least 3x a week. Hi I am 17 and I am on metformin. The side effects of the Metformin isn't bad. You do have to go to the restroom alot but thats how you can loose waight. If you get pregnant it wont hurt the baby but metformin can go threw the milk well thats what I read. You would need to talk to your doctor if you want to breast feed. What that pill does is that it reduces the surgures on the foods you eat. Just start slow. Start with 1 for a pill for a week and then 2 ang just go on.

I was told to keep record of all your symptoms..how long they last..which ones they helped and not helped...etc... you will need this info down the road..OK.. it has to do with Inflammation... ? That's about all I can tell you..
