glucophage

Avatar f tn I have no side effects as long as I eat low carb and avoid alcohol. Also, make sure to take it right when you start eating, or right before, not on an empty stomach.
Avatar f tn My dr has me take it before bed since I was having so many issues. I take 2 @750 mg per day. The side effects got better for me over time but they still make me have an odd stomach ache. Talk to your dr (or nurse) and see what they suggest. I think there are options. I was wondering if my dosage was too low- but it sounds like that is what everyone else is on!!!

Avatar f tn Only side affects I suffered from were stomach upsets and diareaha in the first 2 weeks of starting it. I've been on it for about 2 years now, and the side affects are all gone. Generally speaking, Metformin can take 3-12 months to kick in and actually start working.
Avatar f tn Hm, so you are diagnosed as PCOS or they just started the metformin for the reason of the adrenal gland issue? I'm trying to understand. LOL I know things that affect any part of our hormonal system will result in some mood changes. Are you taking the metformin as they intended? Have they also considered clomid? You've been working with a fertility doctor--- and done all the testing and this is the only issue they see with regards to getting pregnant?
1137951 tn?1261012397 Metformin is a widely prescribed diabetes medication but not everyone can tolerate its side effects. One side effect of Metformin is nausea. To hep prevent nausea take Metformin with food. Contact your doctor if nausea persists. Ask for another oral diabetes medication. "to top it all off my BG levels are still very high even with my diet." You cannot rely solely on drugs to lower your blood glucose levels.
Avatar f tn As with any herbal supplement caution must be undertaken with ashwagandha side effects, which are too long to list here. A good reference is the livestrong web site, use the search window for ashwagandha. You call after reading.
Avatar n tn I have done some research and have found nothing good about this drug. She has all side effects. She is on day 1 with NO geodon.
Avatar f tn If you laedies could tell me your experiences on metformin that would be great. How long did you experience the side effects? I ate fruit yesterday and it went right through me. I thought you shouldn't eat greasy food with it.

Avatar f tn Thank you very much, I had told my doctors about how long I have not seeing my period all they tell me is about Metformin. I really appreciate that info you gave me, I should take this more into consideration. I'm trying to conceive on my own, husband and I been trying without protection and nothing happens. Back a year ago, they put me in treatment which I stopped because of the money and nothing happened, I was put on Femara, and some injection. Thanks again.
1347961 tn?1276608932 I was told I have PCOS. I'm not ovulating like I should. I have my cycle all the time. Studies have shown that Metformin helps women with PCOS by regulating their cycle. I'm currently off the medication because 1. my cycle never stopped and 2. all the crazy side effects. I was throwing up at least 3x a week. I'm going to the Dr. Friday and they said they are going to do some sort of saline procedure to look for follicles.
Avatar f tn Hi I am 17 and I am on metformin. The side effects of the Metformin isn't bad. You do have to go to the restroom alot but thats how you can loose waight. If you get pregnant it wont hurt the baby but metformin can go threw the milk well thats what I read. You would need to talk to your doctor if you want to breast feed. What that pill does is that it reduces the surgures on the foods you eat. Just start slow. Start with 1 for a pill for a week and then 2 ang just go on.
