The smallest dose of Metformin I know of is 500 mg tablet. In India you have 250 mg tablets? What type of Metformin are you taking - there 10 variations? Your doctor told you to take Glucosat with Metformin or you did this on your own? Have you Google'd each Glucosat [glukosat] ingredient for possible contraindications/interactions with Metformin? Bitter melon by itself is OK but has been known not to mix "nicely" with other medications. "What to do?

I was told one time in India, not in the USA, that I have IBS. The doctor gave me the medicine also but I could not bring it to US from India. No I do not take any medicine for GERD. I take metformin for diabetes and synthroid for thyroid. Thanks, Sanjay.

My Mother is 92 slim 126 pounds she feels lightheaded and dizzy in the Mornings after taking her metformin but fells better as the day wears on . I believe the metformin lowers her blood sugars in the morning causing her to feel dizzy and spacy.

I luckily had an excellent doctor at the hospital where I have been going for my antenatal appointments. She kept me on Metformin in my first trimester, I am now in my second trimester, and she has been monitoring my sugars, and I don't seem to need it anymore, so she has taken me off it. But she said that has been a very recent study, which was very comprehensive which has shown that Metformin is completely safe to use throughout the whole pregnancy where needed.

Since one month i have come to india for vaccation and his 4month vaccination for DTP- HIB and Polio is pending. I m concerned about getting him vaccinated here in india as brand for vaccination will be different from indonesia. Is it ok if i get my son vaccinated with different brand in india?

You could get a second opinion from another Dr if you want more input than your own doctor has given. Looking at your Hba1c, you are still having high blood sugars. It may be beneficial for your health if you could get your sugars a bit lower.

been on metformin 500 mg 2x a day...over last 2 wks suagrs have been in upper 200...so my Dr. increased my metformin to 850 mg 2x a day... i just took i pill today but my numbers sre still over 200 ..Is there an adjustment of how many days till new mg. starts to work...

I too did HBsAg test in India. They said its Chemililuminiscence method. Count is 5209. No unit.
