Avatar n tn Hi iam having irregular periods and iam not ovulating because of multicystic ovaries. Iam also taking treatment for it. can you tell me how i will get cured? or will i get cured at all?
1161685 tn?1265402420 My periods are very irregular (32 to 91 days), last period was on Oct 29, had sex on Nov 6 but he didn't penetrate, again on Nov 30 and took the Plan B pill next day, went to the Dr. on Dec 14 and started mild spotting for nine days at the same time he prescribe me progesterone for 7 days & during those days felt sick like pregnant, all the hpt came negative. I've been under a lot of stress and still no period after 78 days... I don't know what to think, what I should do?
Avatar n tn m not pregnant and I have to wait until october 21st ( 60 days without periods ) and she will prescribe for me a provera, test result TSH ,prolactin normal what could be the reason for this sudden irregularities, we start to think about having a baby what should I do,
Avatar n tn I have PCOSa and was diagnosed 6 years ago, I went on the pill for 4 and a half years, I came off of it july 10 and have been trying for a baby but in the last 13 months I have only had 3 periods, its common with pcos, if u have found u have put on weight (like myself) this could be related to PCOS, but if u do have this u will find it harder to lose the weight xx
Avatar f tn One thing that is worrying me is my periods. I have always had irregular periods, except when on the pill for 2 short intervals in my 20s. However I have often fallen into some kind of cycle, e.g. every 6 weeks (about), every 5 weeks etc. 7 weeks would be max but very rarely that long unless very severe stress (I have an anxiety disorder).
Avatar n tn Hi, I don't really have an answer for you; I ,too, have alot of spotting with discharge between my cycles. I do have a cyst on my left ovary associated with pcos. I'm am on metformin. I know they cause irregular bleeding. What I don't understand is why I am spotting the same time every month. I've read it could have alot to do with the changes in hormones. I've also heard some people spotting just before or during ovulation.
Avatar n tn Hi, I dont think Metformin is the cause for your problem. I have used it for more than 3 months and did not have any problem during AF. I have PCOS and hence metformin was prescribed for insulin resistance. btw why were you taking metformin?
Avatar f tn Yasmin is normally toe best choice for PCOS. I was on it 2 years along with Metformin. I came off of it in August 2009 and started having regular periods on my own. If you dont have many symptoms, can I ask why you need birth control? Are your periods irregular? Too much bleeding? Just wondering, because if your periods are normal...then you don't need birth control. Maybe Metformin, as it helped with my cycles.
801413 tn?1333539276 Has anyone after starting metformin gone from irregular periods to none at all? I've been on metformin for almost a month (trying to regulate periods to get pregnant) and I'm on cd 81. Thinking of stopping it. While I am on metformin because of TTC there is no way I am pregnant cause I haven't had sex or anything close to it since December and have had multiple ultrasounds from January to March for cysts.
Avatar f tn usually i was regular and my menstrual cycles lasted for 33 days but this time it was irregular due to stress. please if anyone could help me to calculate my fertile period for me.
Avatar f tn Are you taking this because you have PCOS? Have you had irregular periods before? Metformin needs time to adjust in your system. It can take up to a year to regulate your cycel.
Avatar f tn t ovulate right and usually get a period, I am 19 years old and me and my fiancee ate trying to conceive our first, I have irregular periods that I would bleed for six months and for a year without a break in between , I have been on birth control before to help me not get preferably but that was when 16,I have been on parvers and my bleeding was good I went to my appointment today and she put me on birth control after I have said I wanted to get pregnant
Avatar n tn I can say that metformin has worked for me! When I was first diagnosed with PCOS, I was going months and months without getting my period, and it would have to be induced with provera to get it sometimes. I've been on metformin for several years, and for the first time in my life, my periods are almost regular! In fact, last month I had my shortest cycle ever - 31 days! That doesn't mean I'm ovulating though.
Avatar n tn For me, I have irregular periods, mild PCOS, I ovulate sometimes on time sometimes late, sometimes not at all....So asked my doc if he wanted to give me metformin with Femara...HE checked my blood insulin test...
Avatar f tn I really don't think being over weight or not helps for me. My cycle has been urregular since I was 13. My weight has been up and down every 2 yrs or so I lost ~50lbs went from 216 to 163 in 2 yrs my periods were still irregular. Now I'm back up to 206 with the same periods every 2-3- months. Doc told me metformin helps regulate your cycle by decreasing the insulin resistance.
Avatar f tn t find out I had PCOS until I was 21...even though I probably had it way before I knew. Are your periods irregular? I take Yasmin birth control and metformin. The birth control helps to keep my periods on track so I have one each month, and the metformin helps with losing weight. Please talk with your doctor and parents so you can start getting treated.
Avatar f tn i was about to take meprate for periods but im waiting for next month for my periods...can i expect my periods this month after taking these tablets..? can i plan for pregancy this month?
Avatar f tn My periods have always been irregular and by this i mean i bleed alot more than i should do. For example i can be on for 1week and off for 2 then on for 2weeks off for 1 week etc. Me and my partner have beem ttc for nearly 2years and are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. I was prescribed with metformin about 6montus ago but only managed to take it for about a month as i was diagnosed with depression and advised to stop taking metformin until depression had gone.
Avatar f tn ) other than that I was on metformin for a bit which did help my periods become a little more often but not regular. .. have a chat to ur doc and they will give u the best advice specifically for you as every case is different.
Avatar f tn I ovulate 15th day of my cycle every month...... Metformin will help with your periods... Its very important that u get on metformin b/c people with psco have a higher risk of mc... Plus u want to stay on it when u r preg...
Avatar f tn Because your periods were really irregular, your body needs to have periods for a while to help your body be able to get pregnant. Trust me, I understand how bad you want a baby...I really do....but sometimes we need to fix 1 problem first, then start with the next issue.
Avatar m tn Since I consume the Metformin , I have been having the periods with blood clots for 3 weeks continuously. I got scared and stopped the medicine. But the period is still there. What should I do?
Avatar n tn I have PCOS and my hair on top is allot thinner than on the bottom. I take metformin 500mg 2x a day for my PCOS. Before I got treated my periods were also irregular. Some months they would be normal, and then another month they would be messed up were I would bleed for 2 weeks. It's normal to see some difference in your period every month, but what you described to me doesn't sound normal. I mean not many women have a 28 day cycle, thats just the textbook version.
801413 tn?1333539276 Metformin can take up to a year to regulate your periods. And if you were pregnant, you would not be having a period at all (except for abnormal bleeding). Have you lost any weight with being on metformin?
Avatar n tn I also do not ovulate most months (I track this using the sympto-thermic method) I have also had irregular periods since I started them at 12. My past doctors have always hesitated to diagnose me for two reasons. I am very thin and I my periods come too frequently. My most recent doctor says I have PCOS for sure and that women can have a wide range of symptoms. But I feel it is very strange that I am thin whereas most women with PCOS struggle with weight.
Avatar f tn Since I can remember I have always had irregular periods but I never really did anything about it until last year. Now it seems I always have to take medication like Provera to bring my periods on. This is the main reason I am having fertility problems, my husband and I have been going to a fertility specialist who is also a well known endo and I've only been prescribed Metformin to take. Should I be taking something else for it?
