Avatar f tn I have always had problems with my blood pressure being a little high, but recently it has been between 170/100 to 185/115. My doc has put me on bp meds, with beta blocker for my pulse (has been racing. around 80 - 90), and also put me on hydrochlorothiazide for water retention. Is this high of blood pressure and pulse normal because of my pcos? I am overweight, 230 lbs, 5' 7". But I walk 2 1/2 miles 3 to 5 days a wk.
Avatar n tn There are many blood pressure pills on the market, and sometimes, even, IV drips of blood pressure meds to get a large dose in the patient to help get the pressure lowered quickly, then, they take the pill version.
1346429 tn?1303874854 The aldomet is to lower my blood pressure, I was taking Diovan before I got pregnant, but the switched my medication because Diovan kills the fetus or causes serious birth defects.
Avatar f tn Drugs to treat high blood pressure can cause fever in the afternoon. The nausea may be from being off balance due to the blood pressure too. It may also be due to blood sugar if it is off. Once they stabilize your bp I wouldn't doubt that you see your temperature go down. If it doesn't then talk to your doctor. But I think the BP is what is causing the temperature in the afternoon.

Avatar m tn I am going to start the HCG drops. I am type 2, on insulin, metformin and blood pressure meds. It's encouraging to know your blood sugar and blood pressure have improved. I have asked my Dr. what I can do to naturally improve my blood pressure and he said 'Nothing". I know dropping the weight will help the numbers too. I need the help in curbing the food cravings myself. I love food!!

Avatar n tn The medicines she takes cause her chest pain, shortness of breath, and make her dizzy. Her blood pressure checks out ok, but is the medicine for the blood pressure causing this pain. Some days she is ok and other days the pain comes in the morning and lasts all day. Of all the medecines she takes which is most likely the culprit. Is there any alternatives.

Avatar f tn Hi all. I'm new to the forum. I'm 25 years old. Was diagnosed with PCOS, metabolic syndrome, and hypertension recently. My gyno prescribed me Provera to get me to have a period since I haven't had one since May 09. I can't take birth control because it caused me to have high blood pressure. I'm supposed to start Metformin after the Provera but my doc warned me about having severe nausea as a side effect.
Avatar n tn I was just inform that my fasting levels are 9 times higher than normal and am being put on Metformin 500 mg. I also have a thyroid and blood pressure issues. I am scared to death of this medicine. what side effects are there?
Avatar m tn Rather than watch your blood sugar tests, watch the weight scale and eat healthy, clean. Metformin is given to type 2 diabetes that do not control blood sugar with exercise. Eat less, exercise more to burn up the layers of fat in your muscles and belly fat. High blood sugars tend to go up after exercise due to muscles and liver releasing stored glycogen. Increasing metformin is not the solution, rather exercise more and eat less.
Avatar f tn ) and i think they are either related to metformin or high anxiety levels atleast for me looks this way , thats why i hate metformin , did they check your lipid profile , blood pressure and free androgen index . i think if you have a problem with your insulin you would show some increase with this values . i have heard alot of complains on forums women who use metformin with spiro have more fatigue , and anxiety .
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes last year and have been on metformin for about 2 years. This has controlled the blood sugar levels but all the symptoms are still present. My doctor has taken blood and urine tests, all of which have come back clear. I have been to a urologist and had an ultrasound on my bladder and prostate and all is OK there. I now also have a perminant rash on the glands of my penis, which my doctor tells me it thrush, but no creams clear it up.
Avatar m tn I've been taking Metformin 500 mg once a day every morning. My blood glucose level has been stablized and between safe range, 70 to 85 for fasting test and 80 to 120 at 2 hours after meal. I believe the improvement in blood sugar is because of exercise and diet rather than medication. My question is: should I stop taking Metformin 500 mg? I've heard that this is a very low dose and does not affect much on controling blood sugar. Thanks a lot in advance for your advice and suggestions.

1720613 tn?1309432604 Along with sticking to a diabetic diet/nutrition plan, and daily physical exercise being overweight contributes greatly to diabetes. Keep your cholesterol, triglycerides and blood pressure at normal levels too. Doing all helps lower and maintain proper glucose levels. Purchase a reputable home glucose test meter, test before each meal [preprandial] - to get a baseline measurement.
