except now I am Keflex for a sinus infection. Yesterday, after I took the meds and then laid down.. and then I turned red, felt super hot (mostly just my head) and felt really dizzy. So I checked my bp and it was 155/111. Because of the meds I take, my bp is generally 90/50... that high if I am lucky. I am wondering what on earth happened. Random? Allergy- how could that be? Drug interaction? Though I am a cracker jack nurse, I am stumped.

You can switch this around but avoid taking vitamins with synthroid (calcium and iron can interfer with thyroxine absorption) and metformin (can inhibit the absorption of vitamin B12).

s Drug Guide for Nurses 9th Edition and there is no mention of any interaction with vitamins. There is a mention that metformin can cause Vit B12 deficiency. Also if you take an estrogen supplement it can increase your risk for hypoglycemia. There is a long list of herbs that interact with metformin, however, so choose a prenatal vitamin that does not have herbs. I would type it out but it is a pretty long list LOL.

I have 2 questions, If I take Metformin with evening meal and thyroid in am is there still a chance for interaction? Is there a good diet that works for people who have somewhat high blood sugar level but not at extremes that will help me lose weight. Sorry for the book, but am really concerned as I am a single mom with a 15 yr old still to raise and I must be able to keep working to support both of us.

My fasting blood sugar now is 75 to 80 and before bed around 90 to 100 due to exercising everyday and taking the medication and strict diet. I will have blood work in April and hopefully my doctor will let me stay off the med for good.

I am taking Metformin for PCOS, and I am not trying to get pregnat, will this drug be effective to treat my PCOS. Also how does it help with weight loss.

Does anyone know what type of reaction one is likely to get by mixing Metformin and Victoza with meds for Hep C? These are non insulin meds. I am particularly interested in the interaction with Victoza which is a good stabilizer. Both of these meds can cause some stomach distress.

Hey, Mike, I have taken Keflex and penecillin both with no problems, BUT not on Tx meds. I agree with Dee, check with your pharmacisr - or better yet - call J&J AND Gilead! They should be able to e specific and to reccommend an alternative if one is better. Good luck and good health!

I am a 37 year old female on Methadone Maintence for about 4 1/2 years. I have been having issues lately with my dose being stable. The doctor at my program suggested I have my thyroid tested for underactivity due to symptoms such as weight gain, eyebrow loss, sluggishness, numbness in my hands, swollen feet, legs and hands plus family history. There is also a family history of early menopause and my hormone levels show I am in that range.

t say you tested low on blood sugar and metformin is usually used for more serious situations of diabetes, or at least I think that's true. At any rate, given your situation, you need to see a professional in both allopathic and natural medicine and especially someone who can analyze your diet to see where you're going wrong. Which means I wouldn't at this point mix adrenal balancers with what you're doing right now given that both can lower blood sugar. Good luck.

So after 5days of Keflex, pain with urination has stopped, tissues still very irritated w tinge of blood appearing on toilet paper/pad/towel. Still have a small cloud of sediment floating on top. I remember taking Keflex 30yrs ago and it was not just 5 days-I seem to recall 10 days. Internet now says dosage of 5-7 days for adult UTI. I contacted them again via the on-line portal asking for 2 more days of Keflex and they told me I would have to come and be seen again...

Thanks for your reply. I have been tested for other STD's but I understand the blood & urine tests will not catch an oral infection. I'm fairly certain that is it pharyngeal gonorrhea. The thing I don't get there were no outward signs of gonorrhea like discharge from the penis and he didn't cum in my mouth. I've never let that happen. It seems my risk is fairly low but I don't understand why penicillin and Keflex aren't killing this bug.

I had an abscess on my gums. I started on keflex and scheduled a root canal ASAP. After the root canal and finishing the keflex the abscess was still there. My endontist downplayed it like it's no big deal but he drained the abcess and put me on clymdamycin. Finished all the clymdamycin and the abscess is still there. Endontist says it could take months to heal and sent me on my way. I feel like I need a second opinion. I still have a pea sized abscess on my gums idk what to do.

Well about a week after my girlfriend and I got back together I got a real back sore throats with white stuff on my throat. Went to the doctor and he tested me for strept and mono and tests came back negative. Well he put me on keflex (250mg twice a day for 10 days) totaling 5000mg course. My concern is that I got syphilis has well as hsv2 that same encounter but the keflex cured my syphilis but I gave it to my girlfriend before I was cured. Will that low of a dose keflex cure syphilis?

I did a pee sample and it showed I had a little bit of an infection, so he prescribed me Keflex which i’ve taken before and it worked! Yet i’m a little nervous concerning the issues going on in my heart (if there is anything serious) while taking the medication for the UTI at the same time. The prescription is 500 mg 4 times daily. I have psco my dr put me on metformin I have been taking it for a long time.. Its helps with my psco it also helps me get preg.. When I get preg my dr takes me off the metformin..I have had 2 mc in a row one at 9wks and the second one 18wks.. I just wondering if anyone has stayed on metformin when they were preg.. I was on web sites about metformin & psco and they r saying that people with psco have a higher risk of mc...

I have been on Keflex for almost 5 days now and it has gotten so much worse. In fact I am nauseated from the smell. I have an appointment to return to my doctor on Wednesday. Hopefully relief is in sight, because it is so annoying. I think I am crazy .

I too have PCOS and my doc just put me on Metformin to help me Ov I was on clomid for 6 months and only Ov once the whole time now he took me off the clomid and just put me on Metformin and told me that it will help with my Ov I am not insulin resistance but he says it will help me to Ov. I just read your question about the possible allergic reaction to Keflex. I had previously taken Keflex for mononucleosis at the age of 18 and and other things during my early 20's and never had a problem. A few years later when i was 28 I took it again. I had a terrible reaction. I had very large raised hives that started on the tops of my thighs, inside my arms and up my neck. My eyes were swollen and breathing became a task. I double dosed benendryl and went to ER.

Yes Metformin can cause weight loss, I lost about 25 needed lbs real quick with a low carb, nothing white diet. I have tried not very successfully before metformin and did not lose the weight.
