Metformin and ibuprofen

Common Questions and Answers about Metformin and ibuprofen

Avatar f tn My 20 year-old daughter has been on Metformin for PCOS for two years. She is showing symptoms of the flu, and to make it harder on me, she's on an internship in Florida, so I can't even "see" the symptoms. She tells me she has fever, headache, sore throat, dizziness, vomiting, and general achiness. Should she stop taking it while she's sick? Thanks for any help and/or reassurance you can give me!

Avatar n tn I am just wondering if there are any problems with drug interactions between Metformin and OTC meds like Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Midol, Unisom, Allergy/Sinus meds, etc... Common things that a person might take for pain, sleeplessness, allergies, colds, etc?
Avatar f tn As of now, October 2008, I am currently only taking zyrtec-D, ibuprofen for my back pain, metformin for insulin resistance, and synthroid for hypothyroidism. I also decided to visit a chiropractor in September to try to resolve my mid back pain. It has helped my neck and my lower back ( I sit all day at a computer), but my mid back pain still hurts, particularly when take a deep breathe. The chiro said I have a subluxated rib, but did not do x-rays.
686332 tn?1301258619 Synthyroid, Lasix, inhalers, Metformin, Ibuprofen, Emtec, etc I was put on Dexedrine and three days in it was fabulous. The night day switch reversed. I woke completely in the am and got tired at night. And I felt calm. Now with taking two half tabs I feel nothing. I cannot decide if this is a good thing or not. 2008 was the year from hell. Now I have a family member seriously ill and coping with that which is difficult.

Avatar f tn injections, alternating heat and ice, pain meds, and rotating ibuprofen with Tylenol, and the Voltaren gel or a compounded gel. Basically it's trying to piece together a bunch of things to get some relief. One thing that might help with your feet, albeit just a little, is to roll your foot on a tennis ball. I'm not sure if it really helps but it doesn't hurt. You've found a great website here for support. It has a lot of very knowledgeable, empathetic people on it.
Avatar n tn One night i had extreme pain and the next morning i went to urinate and what i assumed was a blood clot the size of my fist(it was actuall the sac)came out. Afterwards I was fine.
Avatar n tn The dizziness resembled being carsick, with lightheadedness and occasional moments of nausea and feeling faint (but I never passed out). I had a CAT scan and blood work twice, and so far no diagnosis for the dizziness/fatigue. It got better for a few weeks but last week I began to have dizzy spells again, this time accompanied by maxillary sinus pressure. I had just switched allergy medications, from Nasonex to generic Flonase, right at the time my symptoms returned.
4261944 tn?1516183666 ( looks like my tubes are all clear though just got to wait for official consultant's review, however I can start metformin in next cycle now, so ill go see my GP in a few weeks and go get the prescription. No more invasions of my privacy until my smear test, I turn 25 in two months, talk about rubbish timing!
Avatar m tn I would suggest to talk to her gyn and maybe start on Metformin. This will help with weight loss and also the symptoms of pcos.

Avatar n tn Simple question here, has anyone ever had a negative blood test and negative urine test and went on with their daily routine and a month or so later found out you were in fact pregnant while having ultrasound done. If this has happened to anyone or perhaps someone you know, please respond, I'd appreciate the information. Thanks.
Avatar n tn I think everything is over and I clean up. I walk out of the toilet and in about 2 minutes time the stomach cramp and the fainting sensation comes back (I've fainted only once to date from this and was out for about 15-20 minutes). 6. When I get back to the toilet I have a really violent Diarrhoea episode in pure liquid state.
2106457 tn?1333924567 It worsens if I have been on my feet quite some time or using my arms (holding grandbabies). I do have Diabetes but it is managed by Metformin and diet. I take Lyrica, low dose, for pain in my toes and feet. Whenever i cannot tolerate the discomfort any longer I take 800mg Ibuprofen. I often use Blue Stuff or Biofreeze. None of this really works well enough to alleviate the constant pain.
Avatar f tn As well as pain in my left breast on the side (by armpit) as well as the upper part of breast. My shoulder and left arm and backside sometimes hurts too. I was told I have anxiety but I never had it like this. I am a type 2 diabetic. I take metformin which I wonder about the side effects. I get these pains constantly. I've gone to the ER, they did EKG and X-rays said I was fine. I told my dr and she said my EKG, oxygen and various test say my hearts fine.

Avatar f tn do you take Zoloft Seroquel Cogentin prazosin buspiorne or trazadone gabapentin metformin or ibuprofen ?
Avatar f tn I am so sorry to hear you are in pain. Your recent findings could just be a temporary condition at this time...perhaps due to a hormonal change or imbalance. Or, you may have something else going on like PCOS. Those with PCOS often have many small cysts that make the ovary appear "bulky.". Birth control pills sometimes help balance hormones and get rid of small cysts. But, you will have to wait to see what your doctor recommends.
Avatar f tn But most important of all fire your experimenting doctor. Write down all your medications, supplements including aspirin and ibuprofen, the dose you take and when, and present it to your "new" doctor/s. Good luck.
2121656 tn?1395678349 Not sure when I can resume taking Ibuprofen again for headaches, pulled groin muscle, ect. Please advise? My PCP, he took me off the metformin and lipitor at this time thinking it's the med's that are causing the high liver enzymes. However, if they are the underlying cause, wouldn't the level's of went back down as time went on and not up? I know this sounds like a weird question, but was wondering what your advice would be in coloring my hair?
535089 tn?1400677119 These are often prescribed for runners, sports injuries to joints, and those suffering from arthritis. Syva labs has recently reworked its Cannabinoid test and claims to have eliminated this problem. But a Science magazine article (July 8, 1988) lists Ibuprofen as cross reactive.
