He does ok on Metadate CD but he seems a little zombie like with no emotion and not very social when on Metadate. I believe that it is why the doctor suggested a different med. Thank you for your comment.

Talk to his doctor about decreasing it or changing to another medicine such as Metadate CD.

At home, I have a totally different kid, quiet, likes to read, do crafts, follows rules and mines her manners. She lives with me and her dad part time and her mother part time, she has done this since she was 14 months old and has been on the same schedule since. Maybe you already tried other types of ADHD medicine. If not, maybe try to get your doctor to change to another medicine. If he is too quite and not social, maybe it is also too high of a dosage. Vyvanse is in the same family of ADHD drugs such as Anderall. Maybe you can try the Ritalin family, including Metadate CD. By the way stimulant drugs, such as Vyvanse, Ritalin and Metadate, seem to make the PDD / Autism and Anxiety symptoms worse in some children.

I am sorry you feel bad it sounds like the Meds, best to go back to the Doctor and ask about them and if they are interacting with each other.

You might be better off with a shorter acting medicine such as Metadate CD (8 hours only) or Ritalin and maybe a lower dosage. At 5 years old, it is very hard to get the right medicine and doasage to work. Make sure that you have a good doctor and you are communicating with him/her. Be patient and give your child lots of positive rewards (verbal and otherwise).

I should have added that it is way outside the norm for a child of ten to be getting out of her seat in school. Her teacher has to set more firm limits on this behavior and, in no uncertain terms, tell her to stop it.

40 mg seems a little high to me especially if you are just starting out. my kids always started out on 5mg. If it has a xr on the bottle then that means that it is extended release and made to trickle through the day. The good thing about it is that it is a off on med. That means that you have greater control over the need vs the just keeping it in the body.

But it has only been one month. It takes a while for this stuff to get completely out of his system. It could still pass by itself... Good luck!!

Adderall is not the only medication. You might you doctor to try a different medicine such as Ritalin or Metadate CD. These are still stimulants, but in another family of stimulants. Good luck.

When i began taking it again, BOOM, lesions were back and bursting with debris. So today i switched from adderall to metadate (extended release methylphenidate). I have tried every imaginable topical you can imagine without any success on the lesions. I have still not found a doctor willing to treat morgellons so I figure the least thing I can do is avoid anything that worsens the symptoms.
