Most women do make the mistake of counting the last day of their period
as the first day of their cycle
, but actually the first day of the period
day one. Typically ovulation occurs sometime around cycle day 11-16. The menstrual period is always 14 days after ovulation--if it occurs.
For couples trying to conceive, we recommend testing for ovulation with ovulation predictors starting on cycle day 10 or 11, and then test until positive.
