Menstrual cycle phases and hormones

Common Questions and Answers about Menstrual cycle phases and hormones

menstrual-cycle

Avatar n tn Your menstrual cycle occurs in phases, your period and ovulation being two separate phases. During each cycle, ovulation actually occurs after menstruation (your period). Here's some more info on that, https://menstrupedia.com/articles/physiology/cycle-phases . You're going to get your period again at the start of your next cycle, so you just have to figure out when your phases occur during the month in order to figure out if you're getting your period this month.
689528 tn?1364135841 Just wondering if something could be made up for women and their menstrual cycles and women trying to conceive. A good tool would be some kind of tracker that can be added along with an Ovulation tracker or menstrual tracker or just a tracker of it's own to go along with the Lunar Cycle. It is believed by some people that our cycles are influenced by the lunar cycles.
Avatar n tn But I have two friends that had bleeding. One got anemic and one was treated with hormones. Not sure other than a famiily practise doc or gynecologist. My family practise doc found my fibroids and sent me for the uterine ultrasound. I don't know how expensive they are. You may want to visit the FP and pay for that and then get the uterine ultrasound done at Holy Cross if the FP thinks you need to check it out. The FP or gyne can give you hormones if necessary.
937837 tn?1285350385 I thought after you got ones levels into range the menstrual cycle was supposed to normalize. I have had about 3 50 day cycles since I was diagnosed and started meds. Before my cycles were 37, 49, 34, stopped taking birth control in mid October. Was just wondering if anyone knows if this is normal for a women with hypothyroidism?
920032 tn?1550680156 when i was younger the 2 days leading up to my menstrual cycle became stressful for me as those 2 days were the worst for my asthma.
Avatar n tn Hi For allergic reactions, the best way to avoid this is to avoid the triggers. Stress, hormones and even change in temperatures may sometimes cause a flare. Take oral antihistamines and see if the condition improves. Avoiding any known triggers, spicy food and exposure to extreme heat and dust may also be able to help.
Avatar n tn I also see a natural healthcare practitioner who tested my hormones and advised me I have a progesterone deficiency and has started me on natural progesterone cream. I am also diagnosed with Fibromyalgia too, but apparently the progesterone deficiency can be linked to inflammatory conditions such as these. There is a definite hormonal link. The difficulty is the starting of the progesterone has made my bowel and stomach problems worse along with my fibro. pain.
Avatar f tn So before surgery and my dx I thought all of it was due to hormones as it followed the schedule. Ovulation and period I was in bed ot urgent care due to rolling ha and my cycle was always longer. I tried birth control but made it worse. Since I had surgery I am regular and hardly even notice I don't have ha during anymore!
297423 tn?1212606152 I think the acupuncture has completely regulated my hormones and hopefully my cycles and luteal phase will always be this short. Thanks again for your help.
Avatar f tn the dampness is due to cervical mucus whose quantity of discharge keeps on changing with the phases of the cycle(i.e; menstrual phase, follicular phase, ovulatory phase and luteal phase of the menstrual cycle).. a mild odor which you said vaginal odor is there because of this cervical mucous but if it's very strong it might be due to infection.. don't worry it's absolutely normal.. good luck..
Avatar n tn my seb-Derm ceased up until 7 days before my menstrual cycle. So I tried that organic raw vinegar (Braggs) and the inflammation ceased immediately but the smell grossed me out. The vinegar requires multiple applications. So my next experiment is to increase the pH balance in my drinking water during my pre-menstrual/ hormonal phase, drinking some new volcanic water with 7.8 pH by WaiAkea.
1582332 tn?1296924865 Yes, the last few years, My doc told me its due to having Chiari and being around the 50 age range (I'm now 53 and cramps have lessened and so has pain), I still have cycle. I'm tested and my hormones read OK, no change of life yet. Everything is more sensitive, even my teeth and bite. My neck feels suffocated, headache comes and either left or right side of head and neck is intolerable. Being on an acid-free diet has helped me alot (read dropping acid).
Avatar f tn I go through weird phases/cycles. I turn bright red and feel VERY warm and then fall asleep at all hours of the day. Sometime I feel hot-bright red in the face, and yet my skin is cold. With a feeling of general fatigue/malaise. Then I go through phases where I can't go to sleep at night, wake up throughout the night. I have had a few Charlie horses throughout the night and have had 4 night sweats over the course of the year.
Avatar n tn see if it comes because sometimes your hormones and get knocked off balance and if it doesn't come go see a obgyn to see whats going on hope this helped
Avatar f tn I do have an anxiety disorder but Ive been feeling heavier anxiety than usual for the past 2 days and I just got my period yesterday so Im wondering if that could be related to my menstral cycle due to increased hormones, etc. Ive been experiencing shortness of breath, nervousness, and some some light headiness.
Avatar f tn Have you had the saliva test, this is very accurate and tests for all the hormones, I would certainly ask for you if you have not had one. Endometritis can also be another cause for the heavy bleeding. Having a sonogram of the ovaries, etc, can tell if you have that. What are your thyroid levels? An over-active thyroid can cause this problem too.
Avatar f tn Here recently I have been having some issues with my menstrual cycle. I bled for 3 weeks. Stopped for a week and a half. Started again for another week. Was off for a week. And just today I started bleeding again. I have recently tested negative for all STIs. I'm not sure what is going on here. This is highly unusual.
20922415 tn?1661860103 It is the main and vital hormone that plays a significant role in menstrual cycle health preparing the body for conception and development of pregnancy. 1. Progesterone throughout the cycle: During the reproductive years, the pituitary gland in the brain generates hormones (follicle-stimulating hormone [FSH] and luteinizing hormone [LH]) that cause a new egg to mature and be released from its ovarian follicle each month.
Avatar n tn I am assuming that you are referring to your menstrual cycle. For people with diabetes, it is common for blood sugar levels to rise during the premenstrual phase, due to production of hormones that oppose insulin's action. For those who don't have diabetes, the pancreas adjusts by secreting extra insulin, so blood sugar should not rise.
Avatar f tn Ask for FSH and LH, etc.... and be sure they tell you the best times in your cycle so you're testing on the right days (I think one of them was the third day in my period & one later on) & get that TSH tested too, as thyroid can affect emotions and menses. Severe cramps and endometriosis often go together.
Avatar f tn Physical symptoms such as bloating, abdominal cramps, constipation, swelling or tenderness in the breasts, cyclic acne, and joint or muscle pain have been associated with menstrual cycle. Hormone change during this time plays an important role and symptoms usually resolve when hormones stabilizes. Over-the-counter pain medications, warm compress and rest may help provide relief. However, if the abdominal pain persists, check with your doctor to rule out other causes.
Avatar f tn I would like to see a tracker that covers the whole female menstrual cycle including mood, fatigue, water retention, weight, bleeding, pain. This would help me assess whether some of my difficulties are related to hormones although not obvious PMS.
Avatar f tn I have lump since past 2 years and my menstrual cycle is almost equals to zero..
Avatar n tn s a great tool to help you analyze when ovulation is most likely to take place and when it might be feasible to take a pregnancy test, as well as to keep track of your general menstrual cycle and symptoms that are associated with its various phases. Good luck on your journey!
