I would like to share with you that the week before menses and week after menses are considered as safe periods. The duration of menstrual cycle varies from person to person & is usually between 26 to 31 days. If your last period was December 16, just by the calendar and using a 28-day cycle, you would expect to ovulate on or near December 30. Did you in fact confirm it with an ovulation predictor kit or have some other reason to think January 1 was the day you ovulated?

There are many things that can change a cycle late ovulation,usually caused by stress,change of diet,many things.your cycle is still in normal range.but yes i can see how it effects you trying to concieve.have you tried vitamin B6 this is good for getting your cycle on track,as for trying for 6 months with no success.that is a short time really.can take couples years to concieve.however since your cycle is a bit wacky,i would concentrate on getting that regular first.
im all confused if u go from the 22nd to may 28th its 40 weeks... when did i ovulate and when was fertilization?
an emergency contraceptive pill works in 3 ways- 1) it prevents ovulation 2) it prevents fertilization if ovulation has taken place and 3) it prevents implantation if fertilization has taken place.. howevr the pill is in effective if implantation has taken place.. undoubtedly it disturbs the menstrual cycle... after the consumption of the pill the periods are either delayed or come up early but if delayed more than a week from the expected date u should go for a pregnancy test...
