Avatar f tn I am a 22-year-old medical student and know that normal cycle length varies between 28 to 35 days. My cycle however is around 40 days and sometimes more or less.. The question is, can that be normal? I'm a little overweight but not obese, I exercise regularly and I don't think I have any obvious signs of PCO. Any help?
Avatar n tn Given that I was on the pill for so long, does it take time for my cycle to normalize? I have no idea what the length of my cycle was prior to starting the pill. Thanks for any advice.
Avatar f tn s reports of the usual length of their cycle. The women reported usual cycle lengths as short as 19 days and as long as 60 days, with 28 days being the most common. We found substantial correlation between usual cycle length at enrolment and day of ovulation (follicular phase length) during the study (R=0.55, all cycles). Thus, self reported cycle length can be useful in predicting whether a woman is in her fertile window.

Avatar f tn The last day of your cycle is the day before your next menstrual period starts. The average cycle length is considered 28 days, but many women have longer or shorter cycles and it's fine. The average women ovulates approximately 14 days before the start of her period, but again, that is certainly not carved in stone. The time between your ovulation and period is referred to as a luteal phase. Hope that helps.
Avatar m tn I have had chronic constipation, terrible bloating, and uncomfortable abdomen related symptoms for about 5 years. I have been to over forty doctors including many GIs, endocrinologists, chiropractors, and general practitioners, and hospitalized a few times with a GI team as well as Mayo hospital and Denver. I have also never had my menstrual cycle, ever. I'm also following the fodmap diet and off of gluten, dairy, corn, soy, cruciferous vegetables, garlic, onions, and legumes.

1695263 tn?1306431092 There are lots of different reasons why your cycle would be different then your normal ones. The most easy things you can ask yourself are: Any added stress? Change in your diet? Could you possibly be pregnant? Or where you? I know when my husband and I first got married we got pregnant right away not that far along and I miscarried and it felt like your period you just had. My period lasted about the length yours did and it was really painful.
178590 tn?1294176767 Brown Eyed Gurl, It's not uncommon to have menstrual cycle length change a little after a miscarriage, like a pendulum that has been knowed out of kilter, it takes a while to get back into its rhythm. Cycles up to 34 days in length, however, are normal. The last cycle sounds abnormal though. This may be a one time thing, so wait to see if the cycle normalizes.

Avatar n tn a period, it actually means that you have a longer cycle. There are many reasons for changes in your cycle length. Stress (good or bad), travel, new job, etc. can all cause a delayed ovulation and therefore delay your period.. Your body must menstrate and create a new cycle for ovulation to occur, if you hadnt alreay ovulated ...
Avatar f tn Hi, was wondering, does anyone on here have a really long cycle length?
Avatar n tn A woman typically ovulates 14 days PRIOR to the start of her menstrual bleeding depending on the length of your cycle.
Avatar n tn I was wondering if my menstrual cycle was only 3 days long would that change when I ovulate.
Avatar f tn This month, I was actually already thinking of taking a pregnancy test but then it came today and I was a bit disappointed to see it. I just want to know does having sex delays or disrupt your menstrual cycle? It has happened to me three month now ever since I had sex. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Once your there turn the automatic cycle indicator off, once that is off you can start and stop your cycle and you can can change ur cycle length too...
Avatar f tn s cycles can vary and so can the length of their menstrual cycles. 5 days is a normal amount of time for a period, even when you usually have a 7 day cycle. Sometimes, due to stress and other factors, your cycles can vary by a few days. It does sound like you had a menstrual cycle from the information you have given. If you are unsure, you can take a urine pregnancy test. You can also follow-up with your doctor for a blood test to confirm whether you are pregnant or not.
1065748 tn?1255876527 My question is, has anyone else been trying to ttc naturally by using soy isoflavones? This is my 2nd cycle, last cycle I started with 85mg, this cycle I bumped it to 134mg. I also started myself and DH on vitamin C and DH on an herb supplement to assist in sperm motility and quality. I was also wondering if there may be something else to try or add? Thank you ladies, for being here.
