menstrual-cycle

Avatar n tn You count the length of your cycle from the first day of your last period to the first day of your next period. The length of your mentration does not calculate. Once you know the average length of your cycle, you can find out when you are supposed to O.
Avatar n tn I have irregular period cycle. Ave period length is 2 weeks, with 2-3 weeks "break" in between. It causes my calendar to mess up (we're trying to conceive). Is this menstrual cycle normal? Any advice re timing?
Avatar n tn For most women a regular menstrual cycle would be up to 26 to 32 days. Women with regular cycles may have cycles that vary in length a few days from month to month, but will not experience large variations in the duration of their cycles. To know your fertile period note the number of days in your shortest and longest cycles carefully. Now follow the steps: Subtract 18 from the number of days of your shortest cycle. For e.g. if your shortest cycle is 26 it would be 8.
Avatar n tn for a lot of us. The length of your menstrual cycle can change from month to month for many different reasons, for example: if you are stressed about anything; changes in hormone levels; dietary changes; have experienced an illness recently; changes in medication or birth control, and so on... The average menstrual cycle is supposedly 28 days long (from the 1st day of your last period, to the 1st day of your next period), but often that's not typical for every woman.
937837 tn?1285350385 I thought after you got ones levels into range the menstrual cycle was supposed to normalize. I have had about 3 50 day cycles since I was diagnosed and started meds. Before my cycles were 37, 49, 34, stopped taking birth control in mid October. Was just wondering if anyone knows if this is normal for a women with hypothyroidism?
Avatar f tn s reports of the usual length of their cycle. The women reported usual cycle lengths as short as 19 days and as long as 60 days, with 28 days being the most common. We found substantial correlation between usual cycle length at enrolment and day of ovulation (follicular phase length) during the study (R=0.55, all cycles). Thus, self reported cycle length can be useful in predicting whether a woman is in her fertile window.
Avatar f tn Hi, Optech, You are saying that instead of being the exact length of a calendar month (30 or 31 days, or 28 in the case of February), your cycles seem to be about 26 days long? That is not particularly unusual. The average menstrual month is about 28 days, though the length of women's menstrual months varies widely around the "average." Perhaps you are also saying that this last time was a shorter month than usual?
Avatar f tn The average length of time of the menstrual portion of a woman's cycle is between 4 and 5 days. Anything up to a week is probably considered within the normal limits. Thus, I am not that alarmed about the total length of this period. This may be a one time thing, and there is no way to tell for sure what caused it to last a few days longer than normal. Periods that last longer than 7 days usually indicate some type of problem.

Avatar f tn I am a 22-year-old medical student and know that normal cycle length varies between 28 to 35 days. My cycle however is around 40 days and sometimes more or less.. The question is, can that be normal? I'm a little overweight but not obese, I exercise regularly and I don't think I have any obvious signs of PCO. Any help?
Avatar n tn in the ovulation calendar, there is this info that i need to fill-up like my first day of my last period, length of menstrual cycle in a month, and lutheal phase...i filled this up based on what happened to my cycle just this month and it shows that i am not fertile this whole week..
Avatar f tn s like a calendar so you can keep your menstrual cycle organized. I highly recommend it. It is called Menstrual Calendar, it is a pink icon that looks like a calendar. And is free!
Avatar f tn My cycle is very unregular. According to the calendar chart I wasn't fertile during the unprotected sex. Yet the calendar now shows that I'm late with my period.
Avatar f tn Hi there, Are you referring to your menstrual cycle tracker? Or are you using the My Cycles app as well? According to your menstrual cycle tracker, you are on cycle day 33. If you are using the My Cycles app, the pink/red lines on certain dates are when you are on your period. The green lines are when you are expected to be fertile or in other words, when you would likely ovulate. Your predicted period is shown with pink/red and white lines.
Avatar f tn This movie is based from the Mayan's calendar. Apparently, the world is going to end on December 21st, 2012. Yes, you read correctly, in some way, shape or form, the Earth (or at least a large portion of humans on the planet) will cease to exist. Stop planning your careers, don't bother buying a house, and be sure to spend the last years of your life doing something you always wanted to do but never had the time.
Avatar m tn The menstrual cycle is not perfect. You can be a few days early or a few days later than the previous month. Don't forget, many months are long, so the actual date is often 5 weeks not 4 on the calendar. Even the idea of wanting to be pregnant can delay the hormones! Good luck.
776347 tn?1235612592 t want to get pregnant you should keep a calendar and mark the days that you get your period and then make an estimate after 5 months that should tell you what your average length of your menstrual cycle is, divide the average take off 14-17 days from the average and that should tell you what day of your cycle you ovulate on. good luck.
Avatar m tn A regular cycle (although this varies quite a bit from person to person) is about 28 days, and since most calendar months are 30-31 days, you will generally have your period again before the full month is up. Some women have even shorter cycles, which makes it even more apparent. As for your initial question, yes, a woman with two periods within one calendar month can definitely still conceive.
Avatar f tn We just launched the Menstrual Cycle Tracker, which allows you to track your cycle, and PMS and PMDD symptoms. You can add the Menstrual Cycle Tracker from the Women's Health Community. http://www.medhelp.
Avatar n tn Given that I was on the pill for so long, does it take time for my cycle to normalize? I have no idea what the length of my cycle was prior to starting the pill. Thanks for any advice.
Avatar n tn Keep a calendar and mark the last day of your menstrual cycle and the day your ovulation test is positive. It will help you know your ovulation day for each cycle and if it varies. Also, if you have not been successful, that calendar will better help you and your doctor with your fertility and treatment if needed. Good Luck!
Avatar f tn So, depending on the timing, you can have a cycle on the very beginning of the month/period is day one of your cycle. Then you have a normal cycle length and another cycle will start with another period before the end of the month. Then it appears you had two periods in a month but is just your regular cycle length and the way it timed out. Your cycle can be as short as 21 days and be normal. Does that answer your question?
Avatar f tn I'm an eighteen year old, college girl. I had protected sex on March 7. It was my first time, we checked for leakage....we were very safe. I expected my menstrual on the 17th....but it didn't come until the 21st, so it was four days late. It was heavy for two days and then this morning, nothing? What does this mean? The first two days were heavy including blood clots. My period usually lasts 5-7 days so why the sudden change in length?
Avatar f tn Your cycle doesn't go by the calender. It goes by the days.
541150 tn?1306033843 Do you ladies know what website offers a free menstrual cycle calendar for me to download to my computer and my phone? I’m not looking for a tracker. You know, it’s more like a calendar that tells you what your fertile days are and such. Any thoughts? I keep searching but can’t seem to find a free one.
